Blue Buick oil on canvasAdditional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.Size of Piece: 20 x 24 x 1I paint with enthusiasm for color, strong imagery in my work. Lately, I have been painting cars because I find that their sculptural shapes and gleaming surfaces are irresistible. The reflections in those surfaces always call to me, so I capture the image and paint it. I generally make the car the star of my painting but I need to keep it in context so I create as much or as little of the surrounding scene as suits me.
-
Helicopter Owl oil on canvas 21 x 17 I was intrigued by a newspaper story about an owl that flew into a helicopter mid-air and stayed for part of the ride. My imagined interactions and mutual observations of bird and human in this story was an irresistible invitation to paint it. Remnant of the Past IIintaglio11.25 x 7.5Remnants of the Past is a series rooted in historical fragments, where photo etching becomes a vessel for memory and quiet testimony. Using archival imagery as a guide, I rework moments from the past that might otherwise fade into obscurity. Figures appear suspended in time, rendered in sepia tones and softened edges, evoking the way history lingers not as a fixed record but as an emotional residue. The recurring train setting functions as both a literal and symbolic passage. It speaks to movement, migration, labor, and the unseen lives that sustained systems yet remained uncelebrated. This imagery was inspired by photographs I took of the historic Skunk Train, itself a remnant of a bygone era. Its weathered presence, worn surfaces, and lingering stillness became a visual and emotional catalyst for the series. Uniformed bodies, bowed heads, and intimate gestures suggest dignity carried under the weight of routine and restraint. These are not heroic poses, but honest ones. Through the etching process, I embrace texture, erosion, and tonal restraint, allowing marks to echo the wear of time itself. Each image functions as a visual remnant, inviting viewers to slow down and witness the humanity embedded within everyday historical moments. This series is an act of honoring. It asks us to sit with what remains, to acknowledge those who came before, and to recognize how their presence continues to shape our collective now.Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.Contact to Purchase: Sales are through Center for Contemporary Printmaking:Phone Number: 203-899-7999

Brooklyn in Bloom oil on canvas 24 x 24 This piece was inspired by quiet summer moments in Sunset Park, where I would pause and take in the contrast between nature and the city. The vibrant flowers felt alive, while Manhattan appeared distant, almost like mirage softened by light and atmosphere. Boy in Green oil on paper 24 x 18 This painting explores perception and the quiet ways it shapes how we experience reality. The boy is built from fragments of memory, reference, and distortion rather than direct observation, allowing him to function not as a specific person but a psychological presence. This work also draws on archetypal imagery and an interest in how internal frameworks, such as psychology and spirituality, structure our experience without our awareness. Ode to Untamed Women oil 24 x 24 Using Women's Suffrage sheet music in the National Archives and the colors of the movement (yellow, purple, white), this piece brings the past struggles and present challenges together with words and imagery. The sepia yellow sashes are filled with the chants and songs of the past, while the central bright yellow sash is inscribed with all of the worst thoughts and statements made about women today. The lighted focal box contains a simple message supported by the actions of the past: You Will Not Break Us, We Will Prevail. This lighted box includes a white extension cord and must be plugged in to light. Dandelions represent grit, perseverance, and finding ways to grow and survive even in the most unfavorable environments. Women of today can take hope and inspiration from our foremothers, despite all of the vile anti-feminist ideas bombarding us today. We will prevail. Sap Boiling Day oil on cradled wood 18 x 12 I see the possibilities beyond the real landscape in front of my eyes. Sap Boiling Day represents my experience boiling maple sap this year, the sun rising beyond the tapped trees and the ever-present massive steam plume partially obscuring solid objects. This is what it feels like to boil sap outside on a cold February morning. Instead of defining, I strive to suggest. My imagination filters every scene whether en plein air or in studio and connects my feelings about the scene to the color and design choices I make. My expressive and impressionistic style celebrates color and atmosphere and my work plays with those elements in representational rural landscapes. Finger Lakes Vineyard oil on linen 21 x 21 The open skies and majestic lakes and vineyards of the Finger Lakes in upstate New York inspired this impressionistic painting. The loose brushwork at the forefront captures the fleeting suggestion of the vineyard as one drives past, the background depicts the mesmerizing landscape on the other side of the lake. At Sea fiber art 12 x 12 At Sea inhabits the space between the known and the imagined, one of transformation, memory, and possibility. Through embroidery and other materials, At Sea depicts an organic ecosystem where elements interweave, with both fragility and endurance. At the center, the mermaid explores the boundary between the ethereal and the familiar, self and surroundings, fact and fantasy. Often romanticized, the mermaid is reimagined here as something more complex—rooted, entangled, and inseparable from her habitat . Celebratory color, coral-like stitching, the delicacy of threads, raw edges, and layered textures emphasize process and impermanence, inviting attention to what is unraveling as much as what is growing and thriving. Natural elements create a dialogue between preservation and decay, artifice and authenticity. This work reflects on care—for oceans, ecosystems, and the narratives we attach to them. It asks viewers to consider the complex, delicate world we inhabit. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

8+ South of the Mid-Hudson Bridge hand-colored etching 11 x 14 The Rowing Prints are a series created to explore the sport of crew from the point of view of a rower and coach. They are drawn from mundane images of regular practice sessions usually at the crack of dawn on the Hudson River at Poughkeepsie. The etchings in this series are made on small plates etched into the copper of electronic circuit board blanks and hand colored with watercolors to achieve the atmosphere of the moment. I create images that are at once both realistic and nostalgic, aligned with the experience of rowers who ply the waters of the historic rowing venue today. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

They are derived from normal mundane images of regular practice sessions, mostly on the Hudson River at Poughkeepsie. The photos are then manipulated to create screenprints, and hand colored on the screen itself. When printed with a sheer black ink, I create images that are at once both realistic and nostalgic, which is the aligned with the experience of rowers who ply the waters of the historic Hudson River rowing venue at Poughkeepsie today.Contact to Purchase: Sales are through Center for Contemporary Printmaking:Phone Number: 203-899-7999 Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Thalamian Rower on the Trireme Olympias printmaking 14 x 11 framed size: 22 x 18 Thalamian Rower on the Trireme “Olympias” is a self-portrait as a rower on the replica of an ancient Greek trireme, which I rowed as a member of the 200 person crew for an archaeological experiment in 1988 in the Aegean Sea. The thalamian rowers were mostly women for this project due to our smaller stature, having to fit on the lowest level however we were strong enough to wield the 40lb oars for periods of 20-30 minutes. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Gazing in Color oil on canvas 20 x 16 In this painting, I followed the idea that life is not fully understood. It can feel like learning, illusion, or something beyond explanation. I wanted to reflect that sense of not knowing in the woman’s eyes and in the surrounding space that shifts and flows, in changing shapes and colors. The woman is open to what is present, noticing the beauty around her and allowing different feelings to arise without trying to define them. I used radiant colors to create a sense of movement and atmosphere, while deeper greens bring in a connection to nature and a feeling of grounding. Oil on canvas 20 x 24 x .7 in. "Taking a Break" captures a moment of serene introspection as a woman, suspended in a dreamlike state, floats atop a cloud against swirling cosmic hues. This piece conveys the profound experience of pausing amidst life's complexities, highlighting the intimate relationship between the female spirit and the universe. The painting reflects the strength and resilience inherent in the female journey. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Fill in the Blank watercolor 24 x 24 I have embraced an ancient art form and through the depiction of contemporary subject matter I have made it my own while respecting its traditions. My work focuses on people of the streets. I don’t intrude on their lives, I don’t photograph them, nor do I sketch them, when I paint them, something about their energy, their chi, has locked into my minds’ eye and it comes out my brush. Sumi-e, works the soft contemplative tones of sumi ink with the unique construction of handmade paper and eastern watercolors, creating an image that provides a space for the viewer to reflect. What my work “says” is not fixed, it is left open to the sensibility of each person that stands before it. In this way my work resonates with the spirit of sumi-e, not by imitating tradition, but by capturing a sense of life’s impermanence, fragility and hope. Oil All My Favorite Colors Size: 50 x 26 x 3 My submissions represent the most current work I have completed. The figurative series was intended to encompass all things about creation. The cubist quality happened rather organically while I was troubleshooting creative ways to represent parts of a figure, and the pieces that make up a whole being. These are only two examples, while some of the works not pictured are more irregular and varied shapes, rather than the hard-edged linear shapes seen here. The pallet varies as well but overall the works are a neutral with vibrant undertones. The contour lines will appear and subtly disappear. I enjoyed the thinking process behind the pieces as much as the actual creation of them. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Isaac Woodard Man with No Eyes (square) oil on panel 18 x 18 Isaac Woodard was beaten and blinded by law enforcement as he was returning home from military service in 1946. His horrific maiming called national attention to the brutality against black men in the American south and spurred the movement towards civil rights. This work is my humble plea for enlightenment to emerge from darkness. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

With Hope of Ending World Hunger mixed media 30 x 24 My Sculptural Painting, “In Hope of Ending World Hunger” was created with this sentiment in mind. My inspiration comes from working in food banks and donating food to those in need, as well as the attention this needy cause deserves. I combined 3- dimensional elements with my oil painted portrait to better bring this portrait with its humanitarian theme to life. Cloth and burlap, sculpted hands that reach out beyond the flat oil painted portrait, and an authentic hand carved bowl from Africa, compel viewers to consider and confront the daunting issue of World Hunger, as we look into mesmerizing eyes that represent 673-783 million people who still go hungry today. Perhaps the image of this piece will foster an appreciation for all we have and be a catalyst for donations of food and funding. Cappy, Photographer at Largeprintmaking15 x 12I was creating a demo for my printmaking students on chine collé and decided to keep going on this tangent in my own practice. It can be very simple, but effective, as seen here in the monkey's face. Adding a piece of paper for a more detailed section and extending the paper to create a hard hat over the top of his head eliminated the need to carve another block, and made his face stand out from his body. Also, deciding to keep the space behind his face white, but include typeface in the hat area is a decision to consider when making choices for chine collé materials. The AP card was a real document that I added a paw print and signature to, and the camera was a Xerox collaged on, as well. A lesson for my students that I enjoyed learning from, too.Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.Contact to Purchase: Sales are through Center for Contemporary Printmaking:Phone Number: 203-899-7999

Mme. Belle between 6 & 7 printmaking: relief print and chine collé on paper 20 x 20 I created what I thought was a fictional version of history with women of a certain age during the Cold War. This piece is part of my Housewife Operative series that examines the role of women in that era, which I have subsequently discovered to be true, women did work as spies (for centuries, in fact). The color palette and iconography create a game like tone for a truly dangerous endeavor. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Are You Listening? archival pigment print on paper 16 x 12 framed size: 20 x 16 This photography reminds us of the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation fighting for our freedoms and our right to vote. Back to the Sea archival pigment print on paper 24 x 18 I enjoy the discovery of interactions along the shoreline. There are endless possibilities as the tide changes, the weather turns, people come and go. There is freedom and fantasy as you get your toes in the sand and surf. I watched this young boy at play with this magical stick full of barnacles and at last in whatever story he had in mind he returned it respectfully to the sea. Dreams watercolor 11 x 14 framed size: 21 x 14 As a former dancer, I strive to capture the beauty of the human form and its graceful movements. My primary media is water based to allow for transparency and fluidity in capturing the figure. A River Runs Through It oil on panel 24 x 37 At the heart of my work lies the evolving metaphor of the “Galactic Web”—a cosmic thread that connects all things. What began in graduate school as the “Life Line” has matured into a sustained investigation of consciousness and the interconnectedness of all matter. Working intuitively, I allow gestural brushwork and fluid paint drips to guide each composition, without predetermined outcomes. A painting is considered resolved only when visual language, metaphor, and conceptual resonance fully converge.
