Nocturne
printmaking
14 x 20

My work investigates loss, memory and human fragility. I use natural and scavenged materials. I burn, dye, stitch, rust and drill wood, paper, silk and metal. I choose obsessive, repetitive mark making processes where traces of the hand remain. Cyanotypes, created with exposure to our largest star, allude to the celestial and star filled heavens, beacons used for centuries as guideposts though many have long since burnt out. The past burning present in our daily lives.
