Carol Fabricatore is a New York–based visual artist known for her narrative imagery and emotional depth. Drawing inspiration from the cultural diversity of urban life and natural landscapes, her acrylic and gouache paintings explore the complexity of human experience. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, Carol has exhibited widely, including at the SVA Visual Arts Gallery, The National Arts Club, and in St. Rémy de Provence. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and American Illustration, among others.
Cathy Lazar is a fiber artist living in Northern New Jersey. At age 14, she studied with Walter Nottingham at Haystack Hinckley School of Crafts. She received a degree in Textile Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduating, Cathy brought Kermit and Miss Piggy to life at the Muppet Workshop. Soon after, she founded Cathy Lazar Costumes and Soft Props, producing three-dimensional works for Claes Oldenburg, Bruce Springsteen, SNL, Laurie Simmons…She constructed over-sized objects for iconic brands such as Reebok, Oreo, and Elizabeth Arden. Cathy was introduced to mosaics in 1992. In her Shardonnay Mosaic Studio she has mentored women and girls for over 25 years. In 2018, Cathy returned to her textile roots, creating art quilts. Christine Knize,alumna of Tyler School of Art, BFA and Rhode Island School of Design, MFA, was born in NYC.Her academic journey led her to spend 3 years in Italy and France,specializing in the Renaissance.In 1986, Christine moved to Miami, where she established a paint decoration company which drew the attention of numerous celebrities.Christine dedicated years to the restoration of the Biltmore Hotel, where she meticulously revived the hand-painted finishes adorning the lobby and ballrooms.She also played a role in the initial renovations of Miami Beach Art Deco hotels,contributing to the preservation of historical landmarks.After three decades in Miami;Christine embraced a new chapter in Jacksonville, Florida,where she channels her artistic energy into creating large canvases of orchids.

Trees Die Standing
This painting is inspired from a favorite Spanish play I read by Alejandro Cosana called “Los Árboles Mueren de Pie” translated it means Trees Die Standing. The story is about a family trying to prevent their elderly matriarch from hearing tragic news for fear it might kill her. She finally hears the news and continues strong taking care of the family. She says she is dead inside, but still standing, like a tree dies standing up.
“Do not see me fall. Dead inside, but standing tall. Like a tree.”
It reminds me of women who are nurturing caregivers of children and elderly, who need to show strength by standing strong, despite their grief.

“Stretched on Your Grave” is an exploration of grief. While grief is often portrayed as somber and subdued, it can also be vivid, raw, and full of intensity. Strong emotion comes with strong color.
The figure’s raised arm may be a gesture of defense, of shelter, or of reaching—perhaps toward something lost, or something yet to come. Her upward gaze suggests both longing and focus.
Inscribed within the work are three poems that illuminate the many shades of mourning—sorrow, love, memory, and resilience:

and “For Grief” by John O’Donohue.

| As an Artist, I can weave together the threads of myth and reality while exploring the deep, multifaceted nature of the female psyche. With a unique approach that blends traditional inspiration with cutting-edge technology, My artwork serves as a bridge between the past and the present, the tangible world and the dreamlike. My pointillist pieces, created using a computer painting program, breathe life into my powerful creations, capturing the inner stories of women and the emotional landscapes they navigate. A key influence on my artwork is the traditional beauty of Japanese woodblock prints and the ethereal quality of pre-Raphaelite paintings. These historical works saturate her pieces with a sense of timelessness. Yet, my choice of a computer program as my primary art medium places me firmly in the realm of contemporary art-making. By embracing modern technology, I reinterprets these classical influences through a digital lens, creating works that feel both nostalgic and forward-thinking. At the heart of my artwork lies a fascination with the interplay of fantasy and truth. My creations speak to a realm where stories and symbols come alive, where ancient tales are reimagined through a state-of-the-art viewpoint. My creative process is very intuitive. An image presents itself to me with a certain resonance and calls upon other images or fragments of images to join it to form something quite different. It's alchemical--a visual amalgam--images attracting other fragments gestating into a new--perhaps unexpected--whole. It is like bird watching or even like catching butterflies in a net.
