• Posing bronze on marble base 12 x 3 x 5 I saw a photo of a model posing - self assured, and confident in her image. Posing, the sculpture, reflects how we want to be seen, even if it is only in our imagination. The piece was created in clay, then a rubber mold was poured over the clay. the mold goes to a casting foundry where a wax is created and a bronze poured. • Ochre Grey Seascape watercolor pencil on bristol 9 x 12 Seascape inspired by the subtle atmospheric conditions. While grounded in reality, it draws on the aesthetic traditions of minimalism, realism and remembrance art. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to evoke realms of the imagination. I seek to establish a link between reality and imagination based on my interior response to a subject....create a place where fiction and reality balance. • Resilience oil on linen panel 16 x 13 In late January 2026 Upstate NY was expecting a huge snowstorm. The air was hushed and quiet. An injured deer was instinctively hunkering down in the snowdrifts that served as his only shelter, awaiting the onslaught. I was emotionally overwhelmed at the resilience shown by this vulnerable being, up against such brutal forces. • Where New Light Rises oil and cold wax on paper 18 x 14 Thickly applied textures evoke seeds of change, while the bright orange symbolizes the burning away of what’s no longer needed. Inspired by the transition from the year of the snake (2025) to the year of the horse (2026), this artwork captures the energy of shedding the old to welcome new beginnings. Full of movement, depth, and a fluid, organic feel, it’s a celebration of transformation and fresh light rising—like the quiet turning of the seasons, where light gently reshapes the landscape within. • Conducting Strings in Color watercolor pencils and Neocolor 2 drawing on Rives BFK paper adhered to and varnished on cradled wood panel 24 x 34 Conducting Strings in Color captures the immediacy and energy of live performance through gesture and color. Working in mixed media, I suggest the motion of music through the movement of the conductor and musicians, allowing line, shape, and color to carry rhythm across the surface. The drawing seeks to translate sound into visual form—where marks pulse, overlap, and respond—evoking the shared intensity and fleeting nature of a musical moment. • I am you as you are me as we are all together. intaglio 22 x 30 This is my most ambtious work as it includes 5 different plates working together to form an image. The introduction of color was also new. The hands and the faces are all the came colo. However, center block is hand rolled, Therefore, each print is slightly different. Perhaps it is best described as an intaglio monoprint.

  • They Went in Anyway mixed media 22 x 30 framed size: 24 x 32 THEY WENT IN ANYWAY This drawing honors the eleven young women of the group known as The Norfolk 17. These were Black students who, in February 1959, integrated six previously all-white public schools in Norfolk, Virginia, after months of school closures enforced under the state’s policy of “Massive Resistance.” In defiance of the Brown v. Board of Education ruling, Virginia chose to deny education rather than desegregate. The students depicted are: Top row: Johnnie Rouse, Patricia Turner, Carol Wellington, Olivia Driver, Lolita Portis Middle row: Delores Johnson, LaVera Forbes, Geraldine Talley Bottom row: Betty Jean Reed, Claudia Wellington, Patricia Godbolt Out of 151 Black applicants subjected to deliberately discriminatory testing and interviews, only seventeen were admitted. The majority were girls. Supported by churches and the NAACP, these young women entered schools where they faced daily threats, spitting, physical assaults, and profound isolation. Yet they persisted, understanding that their presence carried consequences far beyond their own lives. Rather than depicting spectacle or confrontation, this work focuses on their composure, dignity, and collective strength. Their courage forced the reopening of Norfolk’s public schools and contributed to the nation’s ongoing struggle toward educational equity. These young women were not only students—they were agents of change, embodying the civic power at the heart of She the People. • Mixed media, drawing on paper 24 x 18 x 1 in.   Lena is my oldest grandchild and only granddaughter. Although she lives on the West coast, we have always shared a special bond. This summer, while she, her father and brother were visiting us in Virginia, she got her first period. Later, as we sat together, I began to sketch. At one point, she created a peep hole to look through as we talked. That gesture portrayed for me the ambivalence of the moment. It felt as though she was looking out at the future, as she contemplated the consequences of her body changing to her adult self. Her pose captured he tension between childhood and adulthood, highlighting the uncertainty and conflicting emotions that come with this transition   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Racing the Big Sandy

Rives Bfk,watercolor pencil, neocolor2, varnish, Cradled wood panel

    Size of Piece: 30 x 30 x 1.5

A few years back while visiting my brother and sister-in -law in New York, we took the train out to Belmont Park to watch the horse race. Although I often draw wild horses, I had never before experienced the energy of a live thoroughbred race. The horses, with their graceful yet powerful bodies, rumbled past the stands in a blur of color as their jockeys urged them on. I took many photographs that day ,and I continue to create drawings inspired by that experience. This piece, “Racing the Big Sandy, refers to the local nickname for Belmont Racetrack, and captures the trillI felt watching the racers thunder past.

I created this drawing using watercolor pencils and Neocolor 2 on Rives Bfk paper adhered to and varnished on a cradled wood panel.

The ocean delivers gifts of beauty in special ways. This piece is intended to invoke thoughts of unexpected tenderness via the tumbling, rustling, and tossing of the currents. After being carefully sheltered by a jagged, stone-like exterior, the gentle, shiny abalone interior holds a surprising hue. The tender pearl contained within a myriad of colorful hues displays proof that beauty can be carefully created and then surrendered from within the center of the toughest elements. Abalone Heart reminds us that we are strong and resilient. We will render the product of our worth despite the storms we experience.

  • Fists of Freedom acrylic, acrylic marker, & pen on canvas 10 x 10 The battle for equality is as old as time. We continue to experience the systematic dismantling of our hard-fought-for freedoms, even in this land we call ‘The Home of the Free’. Throughout time and history, women have led, educated, fought, conquered, ruled, and birthed nations. Be inspired to dig your heels in. This is a sliver of time, while not meaningless, a blight. It is a teaching moment. Like ephemeral work for us to paint over with the names of inspiring female leaders who will take us into our future. We learn from the past. We will remove the masks, learn the names, and change the laws. Freedoms will be granted. Leaders, crafted with care, will rise. A time for women to lead is here. This is not a question, but a demand. The world is long overdue for a nurturing hand of leadership and a woman’s touch. • Not So Delicate Flowers mixed media 20 x 20 This image is silent, though filled with voices. A thick crowd had amassed on that cold, windy day in 2018. We didn’t feel unsafe. We listened to speakers who delivered warnings of what would come if we gave up the fight. Someone asked to take our photo, and a few hours later, we learned that we had become the faces of National Geographic for the Women’s March. We exercised the empowerment of our triad, utilized our rights to speak up against hate, and with the help of a friendly stranger, our message made its way to southern Haiti within hours. Our signs were shaped with intention, and filled with love to remind those who saw them that above all, we can live our lives without identifiers - except family. We represent what love look like, no matter where we were born, no matter what our language is. We don’t look like one another, and we find that to be beautiful. We laugh together. We argue together. We work together, lending more hands to lighten the load. This piece is a reminder to dare to hope. To look fear in the eye and conquer hatred. We have seen what fear and hatred can do - tear people and things apart. Love and hope can do so much more. • 4 refracted watercolors on up-cycled box with poem 6 x 16 x 11"
An old jewelry box was up-cycled - the four surfaces cleaned and 4 refracted watercolors added to correspond with each of the four lines of a poem written for the box. Sky knows the snow will cloak the resting branches Sky knows the tilting of the earth will warm the trees and bring them to life Sky knows the heat of the summer will bring the fruit ready for harvest Sky knows the falling of leaves returns the strength of the tree to the earth for the next year. Most of the other surfaces are just left as they were, to remind the user of the box's previous life. Acrylic glazing makes the box a useable item.

  • False Guarded charcoal on birch Panel 30 x 20 False Guarded is part of a broader series examining generational trauma and the ways inherited pain can shape the emotional lives of women. The work focuses on a survival response born from repeated hurt: the decision to abandon vulnerability in favor of protection. What begins as a necessary coping mechanism gradually becomes a defining structure, allowing fear to dictate the terms of one’s life. The figure is held in a defensive posture, one arm raised and rigid, slowly transforming into a tree-like form. This stance reflects emotional petrification—the point at which self-guarding hardens into permanence. Shelf fungi grow along the raised arm, referencing their tendency to thrive on trees that appear healthy but are hollowing on the inside. The imagery becomes a metaphor for carrying pain quietly, maintaining strength and functionality while emotional pain remains unseen. The opposite arm lowers, exposing an open wrist to a snake winding upward along the body. The snake symbolizes fear, persistent, intimate, and increasingly influential when left unchallenged. Rather than confronting or releasing it, the figure allows it space, illustrating how fear can become familiar and inviting. Rendered in charcoal on wood, the work emphasizes time, resistance, and accumulation. The medium resists erasure, mirroring the emotional labor of women who survive by becoming immovable, rooted in endurance, shaped by inherited trauma, and suspended between protection and the possibility of transformation. • Inheritance of Wings watercolor 17 x 21 In "Inheritance of Wings", I use menstrual blood as both material and meaning, something deeply personal, yet intentionally shared. By bringing it into the work, I confront the discomfort and stigma surrounding the female body, reframing it as something natural, powerful, and worthy of respect. A central figure shields herself as sparrows move around her, representing the presence of community and family. The piece reflects the experience of choosing growth, leaving harm, setting boundaries, or stepping into a different life and the resistance that can come from those closest to us. The act of shielding is not fear, but awareness. It is the quiet moment of protecting oneself while still moving forward. This work is about breaking cycles, holding onto your sense of self, and finding strength in becoming something different than what was expected. • Sāji ga hassei suru (a surge occurs) II oil 24 x 36 Sāji ga hassei suru (a surge occurs) II refers to the place of change, the great spirit, the believer's heart, seen as the creator and sustainer of all things. As artists, we are the creators and sustainers of our creations, representing yin and yang—a surge of positive and negative energies fused by one's attitude and stance. • Town Asleep oil on canvas 20 x 24 This work originates from the artist’s lived experience in the New England region of the United States, shaped by a sustained perception of small-town environments. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, the painting transforms low-rise, densely arranged architectural structures, repetitive neighborhood order, and a slow, restrained rhythm of life into abstract visual forms. The upper structure presents a stable, almost motionless state, while the lower section retains traces of flow and accumulation, subtly implying the ongoing effects of time, humidity, and memory. The work seeks to capture a state that exists between stillness and latent movement—a small town not yet fully awake. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Women Series一 Body Memory • Emergence oil on board 24 x 20 28 x 24 Body Memory is a group within the Women series, initiated in 2015, marking the beginning and ongoing development of my exploration of women’s experience and states of being. Rather than depicting specific female figures, the works consider women as a continuously unfolding state of being. The body becomes a vessel of time, where experience, emotion, and social roles accumulate, endure, and are preserved. From 2015 to the present, time itself has become part of the work. Body memory is not only a record of lived experience, but also a formation of women’s voices—persisting across past, present, and future, and continuously participating in and shaping “the people” themselves. • Who's Zoomin' Who acrylic, conte, and paper on canvas 56 x 36 Who’s Zoomin’ Who, is an expression of self-awareness. Mirror images cut from designer wallpaper dance uninhibitedly on a background of roughly textured acrylic mediums. An allegory of self-reflection, the figures dissolve into each other creating a borderless blend of energy. The sea creature patterned wallpaper is used to express the ever-changing rhythm of life and random nature of one’s introspection. Subtle shading informs the mass and volume of the figures. • Pitcher Plants / Hen and Biddies collage: paper, pen and oil 12.5 x 12.5 Like most Artist I paint my surroundings. I am a lifelong nature lover, My work focus on the pets , livestock, and the rural landscapes that shape my daily life. My earliest inspiration came from childhood walks with my grandmother in the woods, discovering hidden wonders like the wild pitcher plants she called "hen and biddies" These memories continue to guide my work as I create pieces that honor the quiet beauty of rural life. • Still Life printmaking 5.25 x 5.75 Never having attempted the mentally challenging process of a reduction print, I wanted to try one. It requires planning ahead to layer the ink colors as one continues to cut the block, while making a limited edition after which one cannot go back and make any additional changes or repeat the process. Granny Smiths are my favorite apples, and happened to work with this roughly cut and printed, simple still life. • Crosswalk 3 printmaking 8 x 10 Framed Size: 15 x 17 On June 14, 2025, protests against a wannabe king took place all over the country. Leaving the protest, as we crossed the street, I took a photo of the characters in this image. It seemed quite emblematic of the time we are in now, when liberty is at stake. A woman dressed as the Statue of Liberty and was crossing simultaneously with a woman holding a "No Kings" placard and a woman in an abaya covering, with a small boy. There were others, so I included a gentleman to round it out. The photo, for me, was not enough, nor was the watercolor painting I made from it. I had to challenge myself, and this print is one of the two best from a very difficult registration process. I felt it worth pursuing as a moment in history and culture. The crosswalk is a good symbol- representing what we are crossing from and where we are going. The characters are many, and all worthy of liberty. The crosswalk may also represent following the rules for our own safety. Freedom does have its boundaries. This is a tribute to the US Constitution and its basic premises, that we can all walk here as long as we are following the rules. • Familiar Rose intaglio 8 x 5.5 Framed Size: 17 x 14 This is a portrait of Rose Greenfield Cliffer, 1901-1979. The solarplate etching was made from a picture of her in her 20's in the 1920's. Rose was born in Romania, and came to the US as a child, as (Jewish?) girls could not be educated at that time in Romania.. She was elegant (hat and white gloves), strong and hard-working. She was a seamstress, a Marshall Fields store model, and the mother of my father and his twin brother (died at age 6) and my aunt Carole Cliffer Kramer. Her "bob" speaks of the fashion of the time, and my heart speaks to the thoughtful gaze that was captured by this young woman, my grandmother. She had a "green thumb," kept a jade plant in her window that overlooked Lake Michigan, smoked Kent cigarettes, and taught us many card games. I felt the print needed my touch, so added the line and pastel work to enhance the image. I continue to honor her memory. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Standing Firm, After Tuck Langland (sculpture) watercolor on paper 30 x 22 Visiting Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell's Inlet, in South Carolina is always special. I found the sculptures of "Tuck" Langland and this one spoke to me, as I have done yoga all my adult life, and this figure is in the well-known tree pose. The harmony of the sculpture with the live oak and Spanish moss backdrop spoke to me, and I portrayed it in watercolor on paper. Borrowing the lake house of a friend, and taking time away from the usual, a group of my friends gathered on Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, for fun and adventure. This image of the house reflected in the lake, is the view from a kayak. The friends (not shown but having stayed together in the house) are those from high school, and the reflections may represent how time breaks up the memories, as well as how moving water, like time, breaks up the reflections. The more friends, the more broken memories may be stitched back together, especially when some go back to elementary school!

  • Cascade 3 printmaking: monotype on Hahnemuhle copperplate paper 21 x 17 This monotype is part of a series of explorations of falling water, inspired by a visit to Mammoth Lakes, California, following a drought. A rainfall had just provided a bit of relief, allowing for water to cascade down rocks and inclines. It reminds of the preciousness of water. The process allowed the movement of ink on plate to mimic the movement of water, with gravity pulling it over rocks and growth. • Mother Earth 2-2, 2026 acrylic and paper on canvas 24 x 24 My energy is focused on exploring the impact of climate change on our earth and sea. As an avid scuba diver, my fascination with coral reefs has flourished. Mixed media has become the language I use to capture both the beauty and debris of our underwater seas, glaciers and earth. Using a mix of paper, plastic, oil, acrylic, pastel, and ink, I capture the impacts of a drying world, from rising seas to bleaching coral reefs. My goal is to have my work move beyond awareness and beauty to connection and empowerment. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Quiet Peace acrylic on canvas 18 x 22 The Everglades landscape has important jobs to do fulfilling essential functions in the natural world. • One If By Land acrylic on canvas 12 x 15 I'm an intuitive, abstract painter, guided by movement and color relationships in my work. As I work, brushstrokes or applications of paint evolve into layered, overlapping shapes that merge and dissolve into floating, amorphous forms. Each painting is an open field for experimentation. I am delighted as surprises emerge and discoveries unfold, bringing constant new beginnings during my process and in my practice. • Unconditional photography 16 x 21 They have nothing, yet they share everything. Increasingly, couples and families are unable to meet the increasing cost of housing. Inflation, stagnating wages and catastrophic illness are just a few of the reasons more and more Americans are becoming displaced. • Helping Hand graphite, watercolor, acrylic on wooden cradle 10 x 10 I wanted to create a dialog with nature. Working on a wood panel I started to draw an outline of the hand but realized the unpainted wood would be the flesh tone and added shadows for dimension. I painted the bird with colorful watercolors and finished with flat white acrylic for a contemporary effect. With all the tension in the world with aggression and war, I wanted to create an image that represented the end of the conflict. There is a feeling of exhaustion of the soldier's limp arm. There is no weapon in his open hand. The soldier has given everything for a cause, but his desire to continue has come to an end. Let the symbolism of the toga, wing of victory and laurel wreath inspire dialog and compromise to bring peace.

  • Moment in the Movement oil on canvas
    Size of Piece: 30 x 40 .75
Moment in the Movement is inspired by Bonnie Kerness, a friend and nationally-recognized leader in the U.S. prison abolition movement. Here, Bonnie is rendered using a photo I took of her during a strategy meeting of local advocates in her 50-year role as Director of the Prison Watch Program, an arm of the American Friends Service Committee. Hunched in a gesture of weighty reflection, but perhaps also in prayer, she is cloaked by a life-affirming blue-green that contrasts with an ominousness dark background. The watery movement of her spectacular crown of white hair exists in tension with sharp, foreboding shapes surrounding, and within, her face. It was my aim to evoke a sense of bruising vulnerability, a compassionate melancholy, and also a kind of populist regality.

  • South Mountain Trail pastel on paper 17 x 21 My artwork is an expression of the joy and peace I experience while enjoying nature. I choose to work with soft pastels because I love their versatility and directness of application. The beautiful pure pigments are perfect for depicting the way light plays off the colors and textures in nature. This pastel painting was inspired by a hike near my home in Rockland County, NY. I hope to convey not only the beauty of this scene but also the experience of the hike. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Cloisters Museum in Shadow and Light Watercolor 30 x 22
For those of us fortunate enough to live in Upper Manhattan NYC, Fort Tryon Park is our own mini Central Park and also something more. With the Cloisters Museum serving as its "castle on a hill", the Park with its lush landscaping in the same English Romantic style as Central Park, but with sweeping views of the Hudson River and the Palisades of NJ beyond, Fort Tryon Park is a place that brings out the best of us. It is a little-known gem, a neighborhood treasure that reminds us that we can daily experience renewed awe in its beauty, find calm in its idealized version of nature, delight in its wildlife, and take heart in how we and our neighbors and visitors alike smile, say hello, and find common cause in our love for the place. In the daily stresses of urban life that can sometimes bring out the worst in its residents, the Park is a place where we access a different side of life, a place we all agree that we treasure despite other disagreements. And in so doing, it is a place that prompts us to be a better, nobler version of ourselves.

  • She Who Endures watercolor 14 x 13 framed size: 24 x 23 She Who Endures What I love about working with watercolor is its unique freshness, its clean sparkle, clarity and luminosity. Every painting has the potential to emerge as a celebration of the medium. I especially enjoy experimenting with color, and with many layers of glazing, creating harmonious mixes, using veils of color to produce subtle changes and fine nuances in my work. Each painting becomes a learning process, a fascination with what will happen as I walk along its path. Each painting has its own vibration, its own energy. Every success becomes very precious because with watercolor, one can never repeat any part of the work in exactly the same way. • A Cautionary Tale freehand digital painting, archival pigment on canvas 16 x 20 In "A Cautionary Tale" we see a young woman becoming an elderly woman before our eyes. She has wasted her precious life, lost in social media for decades and decades. The phone has become distorted. On the walls the years overlap and melt from one year to another. The calendar also displays the emptiness of her life. This painting was inspired after reading several articles about how many young people spend an average of 6 hours a day on social media. • I see You monoprint 24 x 24 I See You is a monoprint about seeing another person without judgment or prejudice. It reflects a desire to move beyond societal labels—money, gender, nationality, religion, or age—and to encounter another human being as they are. The work centers on the eye as a symbolic gateway to the soul. Across cultures, the gaze has been understood as a direct channel of presence and truth. In Kundalini practice, particular attention is given to the left eye, believed to be connected to the heart and emotional center. This idea informs the composition, where the act of looking becomes a form of connection rather than observation. I See You invites a moment of pause—to look without projection, to recognize without categorizing. At its core, the work affirms that genuine human connection, beyond constructed identity, is one of the most essential experiences we have. • Crater Dreams collage 22 x 18 In this work, I explore the collapse of linear time and the fragile space between memory and imagination, where past, present, and future exist simultaneously. The landscape unfolds as a shifting terrain, with figures suspended within fractured environments, caught between inner states and external forces. I am drawn to moments of instability, as the familiar begins to dissolve. The composition reflects how memory fragments and reassembles experience, creating spaces that feel both intimate and disorienting. The piece develops through a process of collecting and editing found imagery, which is printed, hand-cut, and assembled into layered physical compositions. Through fragmentation and reassembly, I construct environments that merge the real and the imagined, resulting in an archival Vibrachrome print on aluminum that preserves the tactile presence of the hand-cut composition. • Central Park Stroll oil painting 20 x 17 This painting was inspired by a late afternoon walk through Central Park when the low sun transformed an ordinary path into something luminous and unforgettable. I was drawn to the long shadows, glowing trees, and the quiet rhythm of people moving through the light. Rather than describe every detail, I wanted to capture the feeling of that moment like the warmth, stillness, and sense of connection found in everyday life. Using expressive brushwork and layered color, I focused on atmosphere and the way light can shape both a place and our experience of it. My hope is that viewers are reminded of their own simple, beautiful moments outdoors when the world feels peaceful and full of possibility. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Golden Hour oil on canvas 25 x 37 This painting explores a network of entangled vegetation in an imaginary tropical landscape. I try to capture light, entwined linear elements and brilliant color of these wild plant forms bursting with life. It's a symphony of movement, color and rhythmic mark-making that culminates in that ethereal light circulating in the center, pulsing with a spiritual energy. It becomes a metaphor for my inner landscape with its tangled network of nerves seeking balance and calm. • I Am A Woman photography 36 x 24 I AM WOMEN, NOT A HOST On June 24, 2022, when Roe v. Wade was overturned, thousands gathered in New York City in urgent protest. I stood not only as a witness, but as a participant, using my camera as both instrument and voice. These two images form a single statement. On the front of her body, the words I Am Woman declare identity, autonomy, and presence. On her back, Not a Host confronts the reduction of women to vessels. Together, they hold the tension between visibility and erasure, power and vulnerability. Photographed in the surge of collective resistance, this woman’s body became both canvas and proclamation. She carries the language of protest on her skin, transforming flesh into testimony. Presented in Seneca Falls, where the women’s rights movement first took organized form, these images connect past to present. They ask what has changed, what remains fragile, and how we continue to stand — visible, embodied, and unyielding. • Over the Edge acrylic paint on hardboard (masonite) panel 53 x 17 In this painting, I used a calligraphic style of mark-making to explore the rhythm of a waterfall and its movement down a luxurious glen. The water ripples and splashes on its way to shoot forth in a glorious spray over the edge. Its vibrancy is echoed in the surrounding landscape. I used a tall, thin format to enhance the elegance of the waterfall, with rocks and ledges adding shape and structure to the water’s journey. • Orange Crush acrylic painting on stretched canvas 13 x 13 Orange Crush has a funky groove to it, seemingly one of a new adaptation of my surreal abstract style. The bright orange color and the figurative combination with cubistic elements makes it a refreshing visual. • Beauty in the Worn mixed media with found objects, vintage linen, embroidery, used book cover, drawing and ink. 9 x 12 Beauty in the Worn was inspired by my love of aged materials and the stories they carry. I am drawn to objects that hold a history and a fragility that newer things cannot contain. I find beauty in the tender stories that live in that which has been carried - soften - and - imperfectly preserved. Worn edges, faded surfaces, and delicate textures become part of the narrative speaking to time, touch and memory. This work resonates more deeply with me as I grow older and experience the privilege of aging and the need to preserve my history. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Berkshire Afternoon acrylic with pastel and graphite on canvas 32 x 27 The ideas of time and place are explored with nontraditional color palettes and a combination of forms and mark making. The work is somewhere between the expectations of realism and the freedom of abstract expressionism. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Pattern Play acrylic monoprints collaged on canvas 20 x 20 Pattern Play explores rhythm and visual momentum through a collage of my monoprints, developed from an initial black-and-white composition sketch and realized through printing, cutting, and assembly. Strips of black, white, and gray carry varied textures and mark-making—ghosted prints, scraped surfaces, and stenciled motifs—that create a tactile field of repetition and interruption. Small, deliberate red accents act like visual punctuation, pulling the eye back and forth across the plane and breaking the monochrome rhythm with moments of heat and pause. The work investigates the dialogue between order and improvisation: geometric alignment and repeated patterning hold the composition together, while unexpected textures and irregular edges introduce vitality and tension. Layering is central to the piece, inviting viewers to trace the history of each mark and to experience pattern as movement rather than a static surface Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Dress No. 6 masking tape relief print with Chine-colle 14 x 11 Shopping for a granddaughter's birthday present, I saw this dress in a Philadelphia clothing store. I photographed it and turned it into a relief print. The surprising thing about it is that the plate is made by using layers of masking tape! I inked the plate and used Chine-colle to add the red and yellow shapes to the plate before it was run through the press. • Erinna airbrush with acrylic paint on smooth paper 25 x 29 The pre-Raphaelite style lends itself to paintings by airbrush and I wanted an image that portrayed someone from antiquity. The poet’s shawl is a patchwork of designs, and I used a paintbrush to try to make it flow. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Global Series - Bear Hugs ink on paper 18 x 18 Global Series is meant as a gentle reminder that humanity is not separate from nature but a part of it. In Bear Hugs, polar bears are portrayed in a circular format to represent life on Earth and a loving embrace. The red dot represents the Sun, warmth and the need to stop and consider the effect humanity has on the natural world. This is a diptych of serigraphs so the pricing is for the pair. Serigraphy, commonly known as silkscreen printing, is the hand-made printmaking mode. The most important part of the process for Zimmerman is making great drawings. She understands this and creates her drawings, not only as works of art on their own, but thinking about how they will translate into serigraphs. Her thoughtful use of the white of the paper, her textured shading and her attention to the negative space are all essential in her drawings and her silkscreens. • Failed Escape mixed media: acrylic and paper on cradled panel 22 x 22 On a trip to Monaco, I was captivated by the intricate tilework on the walls, each tile a small masterpiece of color and pattern. As I studied them, I imagined secret lives beneath their orderly arrangement. What if the tiles were not fixed in place, but simply resting on the wall, free to shift and move? In Failed Escape, the tiles dream of slipping beyond the surface that confines them. They shuffle into new positions, test the edges, and try to break from the monotony of their daily view. But escape proves harder than they imagined. Some lose balance, some get stuck, and some end up where they began, a little worn but wiser. The wall becomes a stage for their search for change, reflecting a deeply human longing for freedom, novelty, and life beyond the pattern. • Peppers in Motion oil 12 x 14 My subject matter can often reference the human form, gesture, memory, emotion, sensuality or simply capture the energy of a time and place. Some of my work has been fueled by my love of the summer garden. It’s bounty and fruitfulness excites me. My garden in season is lush with vegetation, blossoms, and tons of veggies. I see my still life paintings not as still life but as animated conversations and interactions. When I work from the natural world, I ingest this experience and then synthesize it into my own expression. My use of paint is visceral. I have an appetite for color and enjoy the manipulation of paint that grabs the eye and stirs the unconscious. When painting, I am compelled to articulate a fierce passion for life, female strength, and fecundity. • Powerplay oil on canvas 12 x 12 In Powerplay, motherhood emerges not as a quiet sentiment, but as a force field—dynamic, generative, and passionately alive. Vertical marks rise and fall across the canvas like figures in motion, reaching out, protecting, supporting. Color becomes a language of this amazing emotional journey. Electric blues and violets hold space for contemplation, while bursts of orange, red, and lime pulse with urgency, joy, and the unpredictable intensity of primal love. The surface is thick with revision, each gesture layered over another, mirroring the way the journey of motherhood is continuously adapted through the experience of raising a child. Everything is moving, as we learn and grow in ways we could never have predicted. Ultimately, this work is a meditation on the profound transformation that motherhood offers. It honors the way maternal love reshapes the landscape of the self—layer by layer, mark by mark. • Eve with Daughters mixed media: oil on linen and scrim, sculpture wire 120 x 60 I worked instinctively on this piece draping the raw linen which took the form of a female figure. • Tuk Sip

acrylic, handprinted paper, collage on canvas board

    Size of Piece: 9 x 12 x .25

'Offering' was inspired by a trip to India where I participated in a service project. I had made a strong, non-verbal connection with this woman which seemed to grow stronger as the weeks passed. On the final day, she invited me into her home and offered a chai tea to share with her, along with one rupee she had kept hidden behind the counter. Her daughter commented thatches was her gift to me. the woman held my hand tightly as we left for the bus-- and followed my eyes through the bus' window as I sat to leave.. both of us in tears. I wanted to capture that moment when the connection felt as if we were just two women- our shared experiences reflected in each others eyes- no matter how far apart our worlds were. The other piece-'Tuk Sip' from a trip to Cambodia (Tuk=water)

  • Acrylic on canvas 20 x 20 in.   When I was a young girl, my dad taught me to swim. He'd let me hold onto him as he swam deep underwater....and I loved that feeling of gliding through the water, holding onto him. I never could last as long as he could underwater, and I'd have to let go and swim madly up for air. Those are some of my favorite memories with him...swimming. When he died, I dreamed we were swimming together again, only this time I was the one swimming deep underwater and he was the one swimming madly to the surface...and this time he went far further than the surface.; he went straight on into the sky. I woke up missing him, but happy we could swim together again...even if it is in my dreams.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Life Force acrylic on canvas 22 x 22 Life Force was created during my residency in Ireland. While there, I was struck by how alive the land feels...even the stones. We visited many stone circles and I realized that, for centuries, so many others stood before those same stones...and I felt the connection, the shared life force of us all: the stones, the land, the human beings and the animals... and I felt deeply humbled and grateful.
