  • drypoint with monotype & hand additions 17 x 15" I live in Maine. Every year we wait for the spring peepers to signal that winter is finally over. I use the process of monotype with drypoint and toxic free inks to freely express gestural aspects of nature that surround me. I used various textured offsets to get a nuanced blue surface in this piece which had several iterations. Knowing when to stop is always the question.

  • encaustic 8 x 6" In my current work I am exploring cellular shifts and the many changes that affect our thinking, food, environment and daily life. We are swept away by images flooding our phones and on screens everywhere. I try and step back and reflect on the driving forces beneath view or below our conscious musings. I work in layers whether in monotype, collage or encaustic to represent these layers of meaning. Scraping away wax, adding layers in the press and obscuring text with collage seems to suit my eclectic brain. I want my viewers to stop and look and be surprised at these small works. I use symbols, text and images to tell a larger story. I want to draw in views so that the more they look the more they will see. • monotype 23 x 17.5 x 1" I am using layers of printing from stencils that are not from recyclable materials to tell the story of our fragile predicament here on earth. I am using non toxic inks and Arches paper to produce images alluding to the natural world colliding with development and commercialism.

After visiting a Pompeii exhibit I was inspired by the plaster casts made of the victims. I wanted to do a diorama that depicted the emotions on the faces of a family unit. I decided to paint a mimi portrait of the Mt. Vesuvius eruption as seen through a window of the house.

  • Photography 12 x 12" The years before my Mother passed away, I flew cross country frequently to help with the numerous needs and to ease my mental health as she faded into the ether. I'd tuck into a window seat for the day-long journey. Flying gave me wings to get there, the speed to know I'd not miss another sacred moment and the strange euphoric freedom that being hurled 600+ miles an hour through the atmosphere creates within our nervous system. It was both exhilarating and horrifying...reminders “We are Travelers” on this big blue rock.

  • Works on Paper Life Force 22 x 29 x 1 in. My work from my teens to now is represented in transparent watercolor of nature or history.  Living in California for 20 years, I took workshops in acrylic, collage, and monotype print making.  From those experiences, my landscapes, abstracts, or non-representational paintings develop from how I view nature’s moods and organic forms. The current world events from COVID, changes in our climate, and challenges in our society inspired me to compose this piece, “Life Force”.  The elements we possess are our best resources. • Love that For Me Fiber Art: Punch Needle Embroidery on Weavers Cloth Size of Piece: 30 x 24 Framed Size: 31 x 25 Rejecting the insinuations often thrust upon the female form, Delaney’s works present highly rigid and resolutely geometric portraits of women, without a stroke of curvature. Their depiction of fractured facial profiles calls out the notion of discomfort from unwanted attention and mis-placed celebration of beauty that women receive simply by just being out in the world. The Artist presents a reaction-driven portrayal of those exchanges, and simultaneously shows strength embodied in female agency. These works re-examine our perceptions on “social appropriateness”. The Artist's mission is to abstract identifiable features and remove individual characteristics to varying degrees, creating broadly familiar subjects that reflect femininity as part of the Whole rather than the Individual. The textures and micro-patterns in the thread-work accent the idea that there is no definable limit from where the fabric that we wear ends and our more personal and emotional inner weavings begin. This work's depiction of a fractured facial profile aims to highlight the oftentimes nonexistent boundary between one’s ability to feel beautiful and overt sexualization when externally perceived. By abstracting identifiable features and removing individual characteristics to varying degrees, this work re-examines our perceptions on “appropriateness”. In my latest body of work entitled "Echoes," I explore memories and long-forgotten sounds from my youth. Each painting serving as a vessel for a poem of a childhood train as the underpainting. • colored pencil on paper 10.75 x 14.5 x 1" The original inspiration for Currents/Countercurrents was a view of wildly rushing waters flowing over a multitude of rocks in a pool of lake water. Each second I observed them, water would flood in anew to present more and more complex patterns. As I began to draw, vibrating colors akin to Op Art began to occur. I emphasized these, as well as building up the color in almost impasto effects adding to the frenzy. As the drawing progressed, it expressed additional meanings of the temper of the times.

Transformation, connections, shadow and light are themes that I explore in my artistic practice. My work is constructed in layers that I keep apart allowing the shadows created by the change of light to become a vital part of the artwork. The shadows visually mingle with the two layers creating a labyrinthine image and revealing kaleidoscopic forms of interconnected microcosms. Strolleroptera is a word that I created combining English word "stroller" and the word "ptera" meaning "wings" in Greek.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • digital art 42 x 26 x 1.5" I am a digital artist who uses synesthetic visions and sensory intrusions to create my artistic realities. As a Florida-based artist, the only frozen we usually get is the margaritas poured, so please pass the lime! I am a color-driven artist due to synesthesia. I am also a prolific artist who has acquired savantism and "feels" art 24/7. That feeling requires an intense amount of time and focus. I use so many digital tools for each piece that I have lost count of them. No work is created in precisely the same way. These three digital submissions exemplify how I use fractal art and delve into formulas and geometry. This method is often the way I begin my art creation but not how I end it. These works exemplify the variety I create as a "digital art chameleon." I am an abstract artist within the Techspressionism movement founded by Colin Goldberg. • digital 12 x 12" Diana de Avila is an artist based in Sarasota, FL, who embarked on her artistic journey in 2017. During that time, Diana faced the challenges of relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS) and worsening traumatic brain injury (TBI). However, amidst these difficulties, her artistic gift suddenly and explosively emerged, fueled by acquired savant syndrome and synesthesia. Despite lacking formal training, de Avila has created over 2000 digital art pieces rooted in fractal geometry, drawing inspiration from the convergence of quantum physics, chaos theory, and divine order. Her cosmic digital art, both dynamic and serene, delves into various technological expressions of art. Within the artistic movement "Techspressionism," founded by Colin Goldberg, she has found her "tribe," continually pushing the boundaries of her digital art and exploring innovative approaches to creation. Diana holds the title of Signature member in the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) and is a National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) member. She is also part of the Sarasota artist collective known as SArtQ and is represented by DEFINE Art Gallery in Sarasota, FL.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • painting 24 x 36 x 2" My painting "Kindred Spirits" bridges the gap between animals and humans. In my painting, Mwenda, a keeper in Kenya, says good-bye to his magnificent friend, Sudan, the last Northern White male Rhino. They are kindred spirits who blend together, just like their colors blend. Their curved forms are shared, heavy with a shared grief and unspoken love and respect. Together they form "Kindred Spirits" teaching Humanity lessons of extinction and lessons of Love with Sudan's last breath.

  • Mixed Media 12 x 12 in. The woodblock print Just off of Salem Street was inspired by a walk on a fall day at the North End. I love to walk around, gazing at buildings from different angles, and noticing their shapes and textures. On this cloudless afternoon, I photographed Boston’s architectural homes. The apartment buildings were detailed, climbing with long vines and beautiful windows. When I returned to the studio, I sketched, the inspiration falling from my mind to the paper. I transferred the sketch to a woodblock and began to carve the wood. Once the carving was completed, I inked the woodblock and ran it through the press repeatedly until the artwork was finished.

  • Wild Rabbit #62 Ceramic Sculpture with real 24k gold details Size: 9.5 x 4 x 3 A childhood love of fantasy finds its way into my work. I express the absurdity of life while drawing influence from unexpected sources like the lyrics of music and nursery rhymes. I have a clear vision of a finished piece before I start. With this idea in mind I immediately get started with a combination of wheel thrown pieces, coils and slabs. I alter by pinching, cutting and adding clay until my idea emerges. My pieces are decorated with colored slips and underglazes while still wet and then fired to 1830°. Adding pigmented washes and glazes for my next firing to 2232°. My final firing with 24k gold lustre completes the process. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Acrylic on Wrapped Canvas She's Odd But Nice 18 x 24 The past three years have been very difficult for me as I helped my daughter and a year later my son-in-law through chemo treatments for cancer. Both are in remission at this time. After this exhausting and emotionally trying time, I found myself a very different person. My painting felt inauthentic and forced as I tried to walk a path that was no longer me. I decided to develop a new path that was in line with the person I am now. I changed my painting methods by utilizing a painting wall rather than working flat. I now feel free to express myself in line and movement. My work became playful and meaningful again. My studio became my refuge again. This is who I am today, and it feels good again. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

When I am upset by something I always head to my studio to bring my world to a peaceful place. Song to Ukraine was my response to the invasion of Ukraine. The sense of helplessness in world events often overwhelms me, and although I know my painting will not bring peace to Ukraine perhaps it can bring some personal peace to someone who views it. This painting was included in an exhibit in Tulsa, OK dedicated to the Ukrainian refugees who have arrived to live in our city.

Whether taking walks in the woods or on the beach, the light never disappoints. Camp Hero was a former Air Force Station in Montauk, now part of Camp Hero State Park. It was during a walk here at sunset that my mind's eye captured and remembered the forceful color explosion that turned into this painting.

  • acrylic on paper 16 x 16" The Southwest US national parks never fail to inspire me. Having recently spent time in Arches, Canyonlands, and Capital Reef National Parks, I was entranced. Their magnificent sandstone arches, natural bridges and other geologic formations, set against intense blue skies, captivated my imagination. Powerful forces of nature fashioned these breath-taking landscapes over millions and millions of years. I am reminded there that we humans are new to the earth; this perspective gives me pause and centers my spirit, as does the act of painting them.

  • Monument Stelae Mixed Media Size: 13.8 x 10.6 I use Josonja matte flow gouache paints. I like the matte intensity of the colors. All three works are without planning. The pieces are one of a kind experiments with color, cut and painted papers/ canvas on different surfaces. I used cardboard for The Order, Fabriano watercolor paper for the Monument Stelae, and for the Figure Study I started with the orange painted paper glued to cardboard then the figure ( painted on paper) was glued onto that surface. The pieces are not related excepty by color. I love using this gouache paint! Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Conjuration is the act of calling upon, invoking or summoning a spirit, ghosts, demons, gods or other supernatural beings by means of a magic ritual. The central figure is the powerful Conjuror. In the right hand the figure is holding a feather and in the left has captured one of the 7 sister stars of the Pleiades. The conjuror is surrounded by a golden halo and has a white eagle on the head. According to legends the feather will blow in the wind & carry prayers to the Creator evoking the spirits bringing rain & keeping harmful entities at bay. The white eagle connects to the spiritual side and is a sign of a spiritual teacher. I wanted this painting to be spiritually evocative.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • photograph 8 x 10" It is very exciting for snow to fall in the dry desert- so when it does I cannot resist taking photographs of the wonder of it all. This "happening" is so ephemeral that within a few hours it is all melted and gone. The light here is different than my home town in New Jersey. It has a different glow- very spiritual and other worldly especially the shot of the large tree. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • collage on canvas 24 x 18 x 1" When I was working on this series I felt that these faces starring back at me were powerful and fierce and I wondered where was I going with these images. They slowly evolved by the addition of several symbolic images- Crosses, Birds & feathers. Crosses dividing the face - We are all two spirits the good and evil, the yes & no. Birds - I put birds on the eyes- Birds eye view of life! They are soaring through the sky with their eyes wide open! I like the old saying “See the soul through ones eyes” Feathers: In different Native American communities, the feather has many different meanings. It represents wisdom, spirituality, honor, respect, energy and also represents the sky and air.
