Summer Small Works 2026

  • The Long View, Provence oil on panel 11 x 14 The Long View was painted as a small plein air piece in Provence in 2023. Since it is one of my favorite scenes I have always wanted to paint it in larger format. I like the one point perspective of this scene. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Morning oil on panel 12 x 15 Morning comes early some days. But even when the coffee hasn't kicked in yet, that glow that permeates all things as the sun emerges over the horizon - It calms us and reminds us that every day has the potential to be a beautiful day. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Window That Held the Night No.1 photograph 11 x 14 The Window That Held the Night No. 1 was photographed at the Lunar Faire on a night when the moon was a thin crescent. Its faint light offered little illumination, allowing the artificial glow of the fair to shape the scene. Two shadows cross the weathered boards of an old barn. Their bodies are not visible. Only the forms they leave behind appear, stretched and altered by the light that holds them for a moment. At the center of the wall is a dark window. It does not reveal an interior. It simply holds the night. It absorbs light and resists reflection, becoming a still point within the composition. The shadows fall toward it without touching, as if drawn into the same field of tension. The worn surface of the barn carries the marks of time and exposure. It becomes a ground for these passing forms, holding them briefly before they shift and disappear. A quiet exchange emerges between permanence and impermanence, structure and fleeting presence. While the Faire is filled with sound and color, this image comes from its quieter edge, where light and darkness shape one another and absence takes on form. This work is my attempt to keep what time has already taken. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Fish of Fowl and Flower mixed media 7.4 x 9.5 I am a multidisciplinary artist, author, and lifetime educator. My creative practice is a dialogue between nature, technology, and the transformative power of narrative. I seek to bring overlooked details into sharp focus—a visual philosophy that mirrors my professional dedication to finding the unique story within the larger picture of a lived life. My work is deeply influenced by symmetry, color, and relishing the unpredictable. This fascination with "the story within" has evolved into my current exploration of the natural world through found objects. By repurposing terrestrial elements—such as rooster feathers and pressed botanicals, I aim to deconstruct their original forms to tell an entirely new story, reimagining the familiar as something unexpected and ethereal. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Night Brings Freedom collage: rice, gelee, Mulberry papers, acrylic paint and markers, fabric and thread 10 x 15 After 4 years studying painting at Tyler School of Art in the 1970’s, life led me into a private practice in psychology. My desire to return to art never left me. Ten years ago, after experiencing significant losses, I rekindled my passion for art. I feel whole again and continue helping others heal, along with my healing through art. I create abstract paintings and collages exploring grief/loss. In the process I uncover joy, strength, courage and resilience. Layering, blending and glazing shapes and colors keep those no longer here visible and remembered. Drawing in lines bonds me to others. These lines remind me of Kintsugi, a Japanese art of mending broken pottery into something more beautiful and resilient. I intentionally show staples and ripped paper- grief is messy and my art mirrors this. Making art gives me purpose, endless possibilities and awakens an excitement that will last me a lifetime. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Veiled etching and monotype 10 x 14 This piece was inspired by marriage traditions in India where often women are required to veil themselves once they are wed. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Craftsman graphite, charcoal, and colored pencil on tinted drawing paper 9 x 13 These are my husband's hands. Old. Arthritic. But they continue to create, and make beautiful things from wood. I saw something touching in those gnarled hands as they used his grandfather's chisel to scribe a smooth shallow channel in a piece of reclaimed maple. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Garden Feast pen & ink 8 x 10 I did a plein air sketch of a snail in the yard, then illustrated it with pen and ink. The experiment was adhering the preprinted vellum overlay to the leaf. This work is my attempt to keep what time has already taken. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • No Cuckoos Here bronze sculpture 9 x 13 x 9 I frequently use found objects in my work. This beautiful burlwood bowl suggested a nest, and s many of the subjects of my sculptures are birds. I have combined the two in this piece. A graceful sycamore branch and leaf and three handmade wood bird's eggs tie the elements together in a graceful manor. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Midnight Refuge oil and cold wax on paper 13 x 9 This piece is part of a series where I explore the idea of what home means. A house is not a home until it is defined by its inhabitants who live, breathe, and create memories in that space. Layers of deep blues and textured shadows create a quiet, contemplative atmosphere, centered on a vertical beam of light that breaks through darkness - a subtle reminder of the comfort found in coming home. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Although Lavender means Distrust, for me it is honest and true and helps to purify my mind and body. photograph 8 x 6 I grow herbs and flowers and have used my garden as an escape from current events. I use lavender for tea, scented sachets and am amused that it means deception. I am new to alternative processes in photography and have really enjoyed playing with cyanotypes. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sam paper on canvas 12 x 9 I attended the outdoor, evening gig where this young man was playing keyboard. I was inspired by the halo effect created by the hot pink stage lighting behind him, as well as the movement created by the breeze. The subject matter in my work varies widely, because as in this case, I am often taken with a scene or an image and immediately wonder if I can capture it in paper, which is my only medium. There is no paint in any of my work. All the color is derived from the papers, in a non-traditional collage technique. Sometimes a single paper is just the right color, but usually several layers are required to achieve the right hue and intensity. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mary's Garden acrylics, pencils, chalk, pastels on canvas 12 x 12 I’m inspired by nature and whimsy and reminding the world that there is always beauty and joy around us. There is so much good in the world if you look for it. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Purple Rain acrylic/mixed media on canva 12 x 12 I’m inspired by the environment around me as well as my own internal landscape. My process involves creating multiple layers of paint and collage, extensive mark-making, and distressing the surface with a variety of tools. My paintings invite the viewer to share and experience my creative journey — a quest to make peace with the chaos and complexity of being human — and feel a sense of resolution, even if the resolution is momentary. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Conversation with Orange acrylic, pastel and charcoal on canvas. 8 x 8 Color is central to my work. It carries emotion, establishes rhythm and shapes atmosphere. Texture and line also help build layers of movement and energy to draw the viewer into the work Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • L is for more than lilies (letter L on braille) oil and crystal spheres on wood panel 12 x 12 Built through dense oil impastos and tactile Braille elements, this work reflects on language as both a visual and sensory experience. The figure partially concealed by flowers exists between presence and silence, suggesting identity as something layered, intimate, and continually unfolding. The Braille letter “L” extends the painting beyond sight, transforming the surface into a space of touch, memory, and perception. Through a contemporary figurative language, the piece explores fragility and resilience while questioning how emotion, beauty, and human connection are translated across different forms of communication. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Chicks acrylic on board, papers, inks 12 x 12 This piece was a reflection, inspiration from walking on a street in my town, that allows chickens to roam freely. These chickens run loose as do the tourists who frequent the street. It reminds me of the women who seemed to be gossiping as they walked. This was my impression as I recalled and I painted into a story I named it"chicks". Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Seeking Light acrylic on canvas 10 x 10 I am inspired when natural elements reflect my internal process. In this case, it is the ever evolving journey from darkness toward LIGHT. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Cloud Study watercolor on paper 15 x 13 I love clouds, and I love the challenge of capturing a mutable changing motif. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Still Standing photograph 10 x 15 When I walk along the beach, I cannot help but wonder whether the pier will ever be reattached. The structure appears so very strong, especially when walking underneath. It is nearly impossible to imagine it being halved by nature. Both halves seem to exist on their own though they were created as one. I set up my tripod switching from place to place to enable the viewer to catch the 'cut' and wonder about the strength of each piece to prevail without the other. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Crescent Moon acrylic on paper 7.75 x 7.75 As a mostly abstract painter, sometimes images emerge from the paint. Often they are only fleeting and soon painted out but Sometimes they seem to make their presence known and become a part of the composition. As the Crescent Moon emerged, I was glad to acknowledge it and welcome its presence in this painting. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Lady May oil 9 x 7 My love for horses has no bounds. I look for the sculpted images formed by bone and muscle. This particular horse is named Lady May because she is so graceful and elegant in all her simplicity. She is named after an elderly yet elegant librarian in town named May. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sleeping In The Church digital photograph, inkjet archival print 14 x 11 I was with a group of people photographing in Cuba. We were in a church, when I noticed this man, with his head back, in a light coming from a window, which outlined his features in repose. I was struck by the beauty of the light and how it sculpted his sleeping face. Fortunately, I was able to capture this moment.
  • Slipstream oil on claybord 8 x 8 This abstract piece has many facets - the whiplash of the news cycle, the transient nature of life's moments, the wake of powered vehicles, and the speed of light. It was created in oil on "claybord" - Ampersand's substrate of clay that absorbs into the surface like a fresco. It carries multiple layers of paint that become richer with every application. It allows for marks and textures unique to the surface. The overall composition is both energetic and calming - as time passes it's both fleeting and timeless. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Saint of Wistful Dreams cabinet card embroidered with metallic gold thread and black thread 6.5 x 4.25 This work celebrates the women of the 19th and 20th centuries who nurtured and stood strong while maintaining no legal or societal rights while married as they were their husband's property. They lost all legal rights upon marriage. The idea of sainting them through embroidery on unknown images of the popular cabinet cards raises them to icons of strength, adaptability and resilience. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • To Market basswood sculpture 14 x 14 x 8 I was inspired to carve TO MARKET after observing women throughout the world carrying heavy loads on their heads with apparent ease. For these women, transporting workloads in this manner is not only efficient but also a necessity of daily life—in both rural and urban environments. Within this necessity lies its beauty. My sculpture aims to highlight the quiet dignity and gracefulness of these women at work. My creative process began with making a small clay maquette of 3 women with varied gaits. I chose basswood as the carving material because its subtle grain pattern would not detract from the overall form. I also incorporated the base into the sculpture to convey the women’s connection with the ground they walk on. The final sculpture is sanded but unstained, my way of emphasizing the unadorned simplicity of the subject matter. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • My backyard at Marnay sur Seine, France acrylic with acrylic texture materials on Canvas 6 x 12 One from a series of small works, I painting this painting during my professional artist residency period at the Camac Centre dArt located in Marnay sur Seine, France. The backdrop for this work was inspired the indigenous foliage that densely framed the Seine River which flowed from Paris to the Champagne Ardenne region of France. It was a cloudy day, and the color of the foliage dominated the water of the river which fascinated me. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Chess.Alice etching. zinc plate. black ink on white paper 5 x 6.25 The first intaglio print I can remember seeing accompanied the story of Alice in Wonderland in a beautiful hardback edition, received as a gift from my Grandfather. As a child, I fell in love with the drawings and use of line to express form, shape, and movement. Still inspired by the classic tale, I created a series of mezzotint plates representing the beasts of Wonderland as seen through the darkness of memory. I continued that theme with this image, etched into a polished zinc plate and refined using engraving, drypoint, and spit bite techniques. Depicting an imagined scene from the other side of the looking glass, I sought to evoke a sense of ennui from the characters left in the quiet evening after Alice has departed. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Late Summer oil on linen mounted on Raymar panel 9 x 15 This plein air artwork was completed on a breezy late summer day. I was accompanied by a friend who knew the owner of this northern Maryland farm, who welcomed those who recorded the landscape in art. The painting captures that landscape, which was full of movement from the constant breeze that enveloped the area, shifting color at a moment's notice. This painting is a dialogue of color and light. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • #1810 Etoile De Lyon Rose ceramics: hand-formed porcelain 10 x 10 x 6 All of my hand-formed sculptures are anchored in a nature theme, primarily flowers or the sea. This work is meant to recall an antique rose of the same name. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Yellow Striped Head sculpture: ceramic on wood and steel base 7 x 5 x 5.5 This piece was sculpted from clay and glazed with underglazes. It came from the inspiration to go into new directions with color and pattern experimentation. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Yallah jamel sculpture: cast bronze 11 x 12 x 6 I had a great respect for this animal after spending 3 days in the Moroccan desert. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • ThisIsAlsoAmerica printmaking 6 x 6 ICE has been terrorizing US citizens. This is aggressive agent Bovino in a Nazi inspired SS officer uniform spraying orange pepper spray at protesting citizens. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Corner Cafe, Essex and Canal Sts. gouache on illustration board, pastel pencil 13.5 x 7 I am inspired by the colors, the architecture and the feeling of the area that I want to paint. I paint on site although I do take photographs to remind myself of the shadows when I began the piece. I visit the spot several times spending approximately 3 hours at the spot at the same time each day I paint there. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Inner Light transparent watercolor on traditional watercolor paper 13.5 x 13.25 This piece was done using a technique that I've been having a lot of fun with. It allows me to play and experiment. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
