The Saint of Wistful Dreams
cabinet card embroidered with metallic gold thread and black thread
6.5 x 4.25

This work celebrates the women of the 19th and 20th centuries who nurtured and stood strong while maintaining no legal or societal rights while married as they were their husband’s property. They lost all legal rights upon marriage. The idea of sainting them through embroidery on unknown images of the popular cabinet cards raises them to icons of strength, adaptability and resilience.

Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
