  • Blue Buick oil on canvas
    Size of Piece: 20 x 24 x 1
I paint with enthusiasm for color, strong imagery in my work. Lately, I have been painting cars because I find that their sculptural shapes and gleaming surfaces are irresistible. The reflections in those surfaces always call to me, so I capture the image and paint it. I generally make the car the star of my painting but I need to keep it in context so I create as much or as little of the surrounding scene as suits me.

  • Remnant of the Past II
    intaglio
    11.25 x 7.5
Remnants of the Past is a series rooted in historical fragments, where photo etching becomes a vessel for memory and quiet testimony. Using archival imagery as a guide, I rework moments from the past that might otherwise fade into obscurity. Figures appear suspended in time, rendered in sepia tones and softened edges, evoking the way history lingers not as a fixed record but as an emotional residue. The recurring train setting functions as both a literal and symbolic passage. It speaks to movement, migration, labor, and the unseen lives that sustained systems yet remained uncelebrated. This imagery was inspired by photographs I took of the historic Skunk Train, itself a remnant of a bygone era. Its weathered presence, worn surfaces, and lingering stillness became a visual and emotional catalyst for the series. Uniformed bodies, bowed heads, and intimate gestures suggest dignity carried under the weight of routine and restraint. These are not heroic poses, but honest ones. Through the etching process, I embrace texture, erosion, and tonal restraint, allowing marks to echo the wear of time itself. Each image functions as a visual remnant, inviting viewers to slow down and witness the humanity embedded within everyday historical moments. This series is an act of honoring. It asks us to sit with what remains, to acknowledge those who came before, and to recognize how their presence continues to shape our collective now.

  • Seek
    Watercolor and Gouache on Paper
    5 x 7
This monochromatic piece came at a moment of low inspiration. I had been facing personal challenges that had me seeking solace in my paintbrush, but left me staring at blank pages. Somehow, I pushed myself to just begin and wound up staring into these soulful eyes. I sought a creative outlet and created a child who seemed to be seeking something of their own. Even still, I wonder what that is.

    12 x 12
To see a group of people always inspired me to paint or sketch the scene. Here a group of women are celebrating a young girl going to study abroad. The main character is in front, the others are part of the celebration. Always very important too.

  • Ode to Untamed Women oil 24 x 24 Using Women's Suffrage sheet music in the National Archives and the colors of the movement (yellow, purple, white), this piece brings the past struggles and present challenges together with words and imagery. The sepia yellow sashes are filled with the chants and songs of the past, while the central bright yellow sash is inscribed with all of the worst thoughts and statements made about women today. The lighted focal box contains a simple message supported by the actions of the past: You Will Not Break Us, We Will Prevail. This lighted box includes a white extension cord and must be plugged in to light. Dandelions represent grit, perseverance, and finding ways to grow and survive even in the most unfavorable environments. Women of today can take hope and inspiration from our foremothers, despite all of the vile anti-feminist ideas bombarding us today. We will prevail. • Color Explosion
    powder coated aluminum
    Size of Piece: 9 x 10 x 10
Monet's Flowers, Frank Gherry's Architecture and a passion for the outdoors motivates me to create flowers in an array of sizes and stiles, set on abstract sinuous virtual waves that transport the observer to dream, relax and imagine being uplifted to a place of serenity and joy. I started creating aluminum flowers which when applying a blow torch transformed the aluminum into golden patinas and perforations, and melted petals in an organic way. Incurring into color I powder coat them and explore different color combinations. Trial and error keeps my curiosity and creativity alive. • Vanguard archival pigment print on canson edition etching rag 22 x 17 Throughout history there have always been women who pushed back against stifling cultural constraints. These photos are my attempt to portray strong and powerful women as secure in their bodies and minds. In these images I endeavor to show my subjects as full and complex beings and honor their dedication and achievements in a manner that does not trivialize, sexualize or demean. It is my hope that you as viewers instead of punishing those who challenge feminine stereotypes will be champions of their strength. • Honoring the American West
    found Objects, decorated boot, collage
    16 x 16 x 2
This piece pays tribute to the spirit, resilience, and layered histories of the American West. The weathered boot, adorned with beads, feathers, and the enduring symbol of the bison skull, reflects the blending of cultures, traditions, and landscapes that shaped the region. This work invites viewers to honor the legacy of the West: rugged, spiritual, and forever rooted in the rhythm of the earth and sky. • Hands On
acrylic and paper on canvas board
    14 x 11
There is a tension between the nonchalant act of a womxn skinning an apple, the red crescents of apple skin falling towards a fish, a once living creature, being sliced open seemingly like a sacrifice upon an altar. A womxn's hand appears to hesitate near the fish as though an attempt at saving it was unsuccessful. The black and white figure conflicts with the bright red apple skins falling from her knife. Red represents both the fruit and the life force. The iconographic use of gold implies a spiritual aspect to the piece as do the hands with palm reading diagrams indicating that fate is unyielding.

  • On the Dock
    printmaking
    27 x 21
The Rowing Prints are a series of photo screenprints created to explore the sport of crew from the point of view of a rower and coach. They are derived from normal mundane images of regular practice sessions, mostly on the Hudson River at Poughkeepsie. The photos are then manipulated to create screenprints, and hand colored on the screen itself. When printed with a sheer black ink, I create images that are at once both realistic and nostalgic, which is the aligned with the experience of rowers who ply the waters of the historic Hudson River rowing venue at Poughkeepsie today.

  • Thalamian Rower on the Trireme Olympias printmaking 14 x 11 framed size: 22 x 18 Thalamian Rower on the Trireme “Olympias” is a self-portrait as a rower on the replica of an ancient Greek trireme, which I rowed as a member of the 200 person crew for an archaeological experiment in 1988 in the Aegean Sea. The thalamian rowers were mostly women for this project due to our smaller stature, having to fit on the lowest level however we were strong enough to wield the 40lb oars for periods of 20-30 minutes. The painting reflects the strength and resilience inherent in the female journey.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Fill in the Blank watercolor 24 x 24 I have embraced an ancient art form and through the depiction of contemporary subject matter I have made it my own while respecting its traditions. My work focuses on people of the streets. I don’t intrude on their lives, I don’t photograph them, nor do I sketch them, when I paint them, something about their energy, their chi, has locked into my minds’ eye and it comes out my brush. Sumi-e, works the soft contemplative tones of sumi ink with the unique construction of handmade paper and eastern watercolors, creating an image that provides a space for the viewer to reflect. What my work “says” is not fixed, it is left open to the sensibility of each person that stands before it. In this way my work resonates with the spirit of sumi-e, not by imitating tradition, but by capturing a sense of life’s impermanence, fragility and hope.
