I have been painting a series of LGBTQ+ portraits.
My model had a moment of surprise as we were taking photos and she placed her hands on her face. I thought it was such a real moment that I decided to paint it. I first did the painting and weeks later I created the stencil for the background, which I thought was appropriate for her expression.
