  • CALYPSIS | The Golden Threads mixed media, digital color, oil, oil paint pens, subdued sealant Size of Piece: 16 x 20 x .75 CALYPISIS | The Golden Threads was born from silence, carrying strands no hand could sever. Her golden threads are woven from grief and triumph, each shimmer recalling lives once lived and reminding us nothing is truly lost. The work began as a sketch, scanned and digitally refined into composition, then layered with oils, my detailed NeuroLines process, and black extra fine oil paint pens to build depth and surreal presence. In her threads I see my own journey, each line and layer binding pain and resilience into memory and transformation. • Celtic Bond | A Daughter and Her Mother Mixed media on canvas with wood panel backing, digitally printed background with hand applied oil pen, paint, textured 30 x 30 This work presents a mother and daughter as children, drawn from the artist’s own life. Their figures stand together within a wooded place that recalls years shaped by hardship imposed by those nearest to them. The mother, having grown up without protection, became a steady presence for her child during a time marked by fear, control, and emotional strain. Through attention and resolve, she remained beside her daughter and guided her through what could not be avoided. The forest holds the memory of enclosure and of passage. It marks a period when remaining alert was necessary and when leaving together required courage. The bond between the two figures reflects a decision made and upheld. It speaks to protection given where none had been received, and to the endurance carried from one generation to the next. This work stands as a record of maternal devotion and shared survival. It honors the strength of women who persist, protect, and carry their children forward, shaped by experience and sustained through responsibility. • Haystack Rock
hand drawn sketch digitized w/ watercolor layers, oil-pen NeuroLines detail, matte finish, framed canvas, wood backing
    20 x 16
I was raised in the Mount Hood wilderness, but the Oregon coast was close enough that Cannon Beach became a familiar place throughout my youth and early adulthood. Haystack Rock was the center of every visit. Its height and shape were steady markers along the shore, and it stood out more than anything else around it. In those years The Goonies held a strong place in the minds of many children. We repeated its lines, searched the sand for small objects we imagined as clues, and talked about pirates as if their stories might still be hidden along the rocks. Haystack Rock carried all of that for us. It was tied to a time when the world felt larger and full of things worth finding, and returning to it now brings back the same feeling. This piece began as a hand drawn pencil sketch and was then inked and digitized so the background could be formed in quiet watercolor styled layers. After printing it on canvas with a wood backing, I added my NeuroLines work in oil pens to follow the structure of the rock and the movement of the water. • The Weight of Liberty oil 36 x 24 framed size: 37 x 28 A figure shaped by the long passage of American history and by the demands placed upon the ideals she represents. Since her arrival in the late nineteenth century, Liberty has stood at the nation’s threshold as a presence associated with aspiration, refuge, and civic promise. Across generations, her form has absorbed movement, conflict, and change, gathering responsibility and endurance into a single enduring figure. Conceived as a woman, her image has carried layered meaning through time, shaped by use, expectation, and memory. In this work, Liberty bears visible signs of passage. Her surface appears worn and fractured, marked by strain and accumulation. The lowered head conveys gravity and inward attention, a posture shaped through duration and responsibility. The flame is held downward and close to the body, suggesting care, protection, and sustained watchfulness. The figure stands upright, grounded in weight and continuity, carrying history forward through presence and bearing. The work considers the persistent role of women in sustaining shared ideals through responsibility, labor, and continuity across generations. Liberty appears as an active presence shaped by those who uphold her, carrying a charge that remains ongoing and entrusted forward. • Stability
Collage: Linen, paper, acrylic paint, and archival glue
    8 x 9
Black/Linen Collages, 2024-2025 I gave myself a challenge in this series: Use a minimum of color. Always include black. And leave areas of the linen background unpainted. To create a variety of images under these restrictions of color and space is an exercise in minimalism. These works are small and almost square. They are primarily organic shapes but often play against others that are geometric. Some are very still and a bit architectural. Others are more dynamic and can refer to movements found in landscapes.

  • Beehive Ginger Portrait - Costa Rica

    photograph on canvas

    Size of Piece: 16 x 16

Walking through the tropical area of a Costa Rican coffee plantation, I discovered these vibrant beehive ginger plants. I spent an hour capturing them from different perspectives, ultimately focusing on the spiral pattern at the very top of the bloom. This overhead view emphasizes the bold fuchsia color, geometric structure, and natural symmetry of this tropical flower. Placing the image against a black background—my signature approach to floral portraits—transforms the living plant into a sculptural study that reveals the universal beauty found in nature's diverse forms.

  • Looming Clouds Over Brazil Coast
    print on wrapped canvas
    12 x 15
Nature's most compelling moments often arrive in contradiction—darkness approaching while light persists, calm before the storm, beauty amid threat. This photograph captures such a moment on Brazil's South Atlantic coast, where I spent over a decade working for several weeks each year with a regional healthcare education institute. The Ceará coastline near Beberibe offers dramatic geological formations: golden sandstone cliffs carved by wind and water over millennia. On this afternoon, storm clouds gathered overhead, their weight and darkness dominating the sky. Yet brilliant sunlight continued to bathe the cliffs and beach below, creating a stark juxtaposition that called to me. My creative process relies on observation and anticipation. I don't manipulate scenes but rather position myself where nature's drama might unfold. Here, the contrast between impending darkness and persistent illumination created visual tension—a metaphor for life's constant interplay between challenge and possibility, shadow and light.

  • Conversation photography: wrapped canvas print 18 x 12 Frederick Franck's sculpture, dedicated to the Great Law of the Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy, stands overlooking Boulder Hot Springs, Montana. The nested silhouettes progressing from light to shadow visualize intergenerational responsibility—each generation emerging from and containing the next. This meditation on collective continuity honors Indigenous women's foundational contributions to democratic governance, reminding us that women's civic voice has always been essential to forging pathways toward inclusive democracy. • Reading by the Seashore Acrylic/Canvas Size of Piece: 16 x 20

Girl by the Seashore was painted from imagination,  another way I work.  Sometimes, I paint from imagination directly, with maybe only a thought to where the work will go, but more often, and here, the composition is derived from a pencil drawing, originally from imagination I which made quite a few years ago and still love.  I draw a lot.  Here, I worked to get the light the way I wanted it.

  • Reflecting digital collage on paper
    Size of Piece: 28 x 20
My digital artwork is layered with patterns, symbols, metaphors, and archetypal imagery, inviting the viewer into a space where reality is suspended, and deeper connections can be uncovered. Each layer reveals something new—whether it's a reflection of nature, a moment in time, or a spiritual journey—inviting viewers to explore the themes of interconnectedness that run through my work. These digital collages transcend the immediate experience, offering a window into the universal rhythms of life, spirit, and time.

  • Sharing Stories acrylic on canvas 24 x 36 This painting is a translation of a pencil drawing made from my imagination. ( I rarely draw from live models now, although for many years, I worked from nudes and from people sitting on the subway or in restaurants ). As I was drawing, I thought about how I want to portray this particular subject, Celebrating the Women Who Tell Our Stories. My painting process here began with loosely drawing on canvas, and I used the basic composition I'd drawn on paper. As I was painting, I I made my color decisions slowly, as part of the process of moving the color over the canvas' surface. The figures on the left were not in the original drawing and when I first decided to add two figures there, they were much smaller and a man and a woman. I painted over them after deciding I wanted those figures bigger. At this time, when I work from direct observation, it is of the landscape, and that continues to inform me. • Mother Nature in Control oil on canvas with seed beads 16 x 16 Mother Nature controls the natural world. She nurtures, but she has the power to destroy. Mother Nature represents the interconnection of the living. My piece was inspired by this power and the fact that this power, throughout time, has been personified as being female. My Mother Nature in within the wings of a dove and she is wrapped in floral growth. She is within the darkness of night. She is powerful. She is with what is good. She is our story. The exquisite landform at Sunset Cliffs in La Jolla, California, belies the unwitting sacrifices made by indigenous populations who stood in the way of conquest and "progress." Their memory transmuted onto the canvas by way of this artist's brush in an undeniable form. I contemplated this surprise for a few months before deciding to honor it, front and center.

  • In Full Recognition No. 3 acrylic 12 x 12 Framed Size: 18 x 18 In my contribution of a series of three images to the She the People exhibit, I use the monoprint process to explore the delicate boundary between being seen and being forgotten. Inherently, a monoprint is a singular, unrepeatable ghost of an image—a fitting metaphor for the unique yet often marginalized lives of women throughout our nation’s history, particularly women of color in our national narrative. The fading image of the woman in resplendent headdress (In Full Recognition No. 1) represents the systemic invisibility and erasure that have long sought to diminish her power. As the image recedes over the second and third prints in the series (In Full Recognition No. 2 and No. 3), it also demands a more intentional gaze and prompts feelings of grasping to fully memorialize her before she is gone. What remains when a collective voice is suppressed? What is reclaimed when we center Her-story? This piece does not simply mourn collective loss for what could have been but aims to transform that loss into an empowered future where every woman is fully recognized and heard. • Springs Renewal acrylic on canvas 24 x 12 In North Florida, life-giving springs recreate themselves endlessly with a continuous upwelling of fresh groundwater from visible, boiling-like fissures in the limerock that underlies the State. • Can't Thread the Needle

    acrylic and graphite on canvas

    Size of Piece: 12 x 12 x 1.5

The roots of my work can be traced to my academic studies in Fiber Art. Contemporary women icons studied were Sheila Hicks, Olga de Amarel, Lenore Tawney, Claire Zeisler and Adela Akers just to name a few. There were very few men making their mark with fiber as historically it was “women’s work”.  Relegated to “craft” rather than “fine art” further denigrated this art form.

ABSTRACTION was and still is a key component in the Fiber Arts. These explorations of form, texture, pattern and color is my life-long study and practice.  It was a natural progression for me to continue to investigate these qualities of abstraction when I pivoted from fiber to paint and canvas.

This piece is part of a new body of work applying my deep roots to fiber to abstract painting.

  • Brainbow
    monotype
    Size of Piece: 22 x 29.5
Yummy colors drove the making of this print and hexagons helped shape its direction. I have usually used the inside patterns in hexagons cut from the inside of security envelopes and used them as collage elements in works like this ,but this particular piece insisted the color flow was enough. I’m happy I listened to that voice! Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

The Hexagon is my go-to geometry to play with — its recombinant qualities permit it to fold or bend in optically exciting ways. I think of the hexagon now as three diamonds in different combinations. As I imagine these falling through space, the ambiguosbess of these falls comes into question in ways that urge the viewer to focus and help guide the descent.

  • Rosy Dawn encaustic 24 x 24 The beautiful interior pattern of security envelopes inspired thinking about the concept of “security” & its promise. Hexagons found me a way to “security” blankets and to the long traditions of quilting in America. The subversive use of quilts guided African Americans fleeing the South to safety in the North and recently found me a way to express the importance of our vanishing first amendment rights. Published lists of words that are not to be used resulted in my subtly insinuating reminders of our Right to Free Speech in the encaustic hexagons Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Herculeus
    sculpture
    5 x 10.5 x 10.5
My love for nature and respect for its different moods began in Coastal Georgia where I was born. Feeling the need to capture it in another form, my creative journey began. My style reflects my belief that life needs to be celebrated with whimsy and attitude. I use the flow of lines and surface patterns to create positive and negative spaces in my sculpture. This creates movement and balance between the parts. I create with the hope that my work will bring a smile to the viewer- happiness is a very strong positive force. I believe that sculpture in general reaches out to people on an emotional level. It addresses two of our senses without even trying- sight and the sense of touch. It is also possible to evoke our other senses- even makes us feel like dancing.

    Size of Piece: 12 x 16

In midlife after my children were in college, I wanted to immerse myself in art. Up to this point, I had painted with watercolors and only planned to improve drawing skills. I fell in love with oil painting when my then instructor and now business partner, Matt introduced me to oils. Oil painting became my passion almost immediately. My love for running on wooded trails and open fields naturally inspired my desire for landscape and plein air painting. Key achievements have included winning prizes at local art shows and acceptance into organizations such as NAWA.

  • Asylum (Canton Asylum for Insane Indians, 1903)
    Printmaking
    14 x 11
In 1898, Congress passed a bill creating the only "Institution for Insane Indians" in the United States. The Canton Indian Insane Asylum, Aka Hiawatha Insane Asylum, was a federal facility for Native Americans located in Canton, South Dakota, between 1898 and 1934. It was a vehicle for the U.S. government to lock-up "problem" Indians or so-called "troublemakers" from across the United States. Many of the inmates were not mentally ill. Native Americans risked being confined in the asylum for alcoholism, opposing government or business interests, or for being culturally misunderstood. A 1927 investigation conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs determined that a large number of patients showed no signs of mental illness. While open, more than 350 patients were detained there, in terrible inhumane conditions. At least 121 Indians died and were buried in unmarked graves on the site. The asylum was closed in 1934. Today, this story is still so horrific, that Native Americans still refuse to talk about it. This is precisely the reason that I chose to expose this true gruesome account of American history, that others would like to sweep under the rug.

Empress Dowager Cixi served as the de facto ruler of the Quing Dynasty, the last imperial dynasty of China, from 1861 until her death in 1908. In China, she evolved into a prominent female figure who protects the suffering, particularly women and sailors. The Iron Lady enjoyed dressing up, even taking on the persona of Guanyin, an East Asian Buddhist bodhisattva known for her compassion, mercy, kindness, and love. A Lotus Sutra manuscript read, "We shall walk in the footsteps of ghosts".

  • I Dissent: Lipstick Justice (RBG) collage 20 x 16 framed size: 30 x 26 My inspiration was Queen Anne of Austria (former Queen of France). With my feminist spin, I've transformed her persona into Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. During a talkback session following a 2018 performance of "The Originalist", an Off-Broadway play at 59E59 Theaters in New York, she referred to herself as a "flaming feminist". The play centered around her close friend and ideological opposite, the late Justice Antonin Scalia. During the theatrical outing, at 85 years old, she also joked about her then, newfound, mainstream fame (Notorious RBG) and expressed her intention to remain on the bench for at least another five more years. This declaration was part of her long history of speaking boldly and openly about her advocacy for gender equality and women's rights, during her entire career as a lawyer and as a Supreme Court Justice. She was inducted in The National Women's Hall of Fame in 2002. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

    acrylic and oil on canvas
Size of Piece: 48 x 48 x 1.5 My recent paintings contain root-like veins, dendritic patterns - sacred design, a blueprint common to all things that grow and reach, found in the body as arching blood vessels, in leaves, trees, and forests. This shape is a rhythm; we recognize it from our memory. Rooted in nature's universal language, my paintings pulse with vibrant energy through dynamic brushwork and layered textures, capturing the fluidity of water, foliage, and fleeting landscape elements. Through expressive spontaneity and thoughtful composition, my work celebrates life's wild rhythm, transforming symbolic forms into metaphors of our shared human experience. I permit to use of my artwork on SM. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

mixed media (acrylic with metallic pigments)
    Size of Piece: 36 x 36
My work is Narrative. It is my communicative instrument that translates the intangible into a visual with shapes, color and forms...using symbolism to convey my message. This image was inspired by watching dragonflies seemingly congregate, at the end of each day, to watch the sunset. Dragonflies are a common spirit animal that represent wisdom and resilience to adapt well to change. So many talk about faith...and yet are still blind to scientific theories (one being the existence of a multiverse!?!). Meanwhile, these dragonflies see what we still cannot. This sci-fi is merging into our known reality & has these creatures worshipping the sunsets of the multiverse.

  • U.S. Constitution in a Knot sculpture 41 x 25 x 25 “U.S. Constitution in a Knot” distills the current political impasse into sculptural form. Robin Antar carves the full text of the Constitution, with all seven articles, into a tightly bound marble knot, transforming a foundational democratic document into an image of tension and entanglement. The work speaks to a nation caught in partisan gridlock, where core principles feel strained yet remain structurally intact. The knotted form is held aloft by a carving of the artist’s own hands, asserting individual accountability and the role of personal agency in sustaining civic ideals. Below, a bed of rough granite chips contrasts with the polished marble, evoking fragmentation, erosion, and the instability of public discourse. Through material precision and symbolic compression, Antar positions realism as a vehicle for critique, presenting the Constitution not as a static relic, but as a living framework under pressure, twisted and contested yet still upheld. • Presence and The Past acrylic 24 x 24 My work explores the intersection of individual presence and collective history, navigating the nuanced complexities of the feminine perspective. I paint women engaged in introspection, inhabiting a space where reflection intersects with lived experience. Through a process of layering and refinement, an interplay between color, form, and surface depth is revealed. This physical history serves as a metaphor, honoring the influence of women whose stories weave the fabric of shared legacy. By prioritizing the female gaze, I visualize the 'seen and unseen' — embodying the resonance between the external world and the internal life of the figure. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • State of Being
    acrylic on panel
Size of Piece: 20 x 20 My focus while creating 'State of Being' was on the processes of layering paint and orienting shapes so that they landed balanced and in right relationship. I used an abundance of glaze, and my main tools were a credit card and palette knife, and bowl scraper.
