A native New Yorker who has recently moved full time to Montauk, NY, I find the extraordinary sunsets throughout the years changing seasons inspirational. Whether taking walks in the woods or on the beach, the light never disappoints. Camp Hero was a former Air Force Station in Montauk, now part of Camp Hero State Park. It was during a walk here at sunset that my mind’s eye captured and remembered the forceful color explosion that turned into this painting.
