Photography 14 x 11.75" Travelling into New York City, camera in hand, I leaned as far as possible out the passenger window to capture the incredible, repeating patterns in the Williamsburg Bridge as it skyrocketed over me like a giant erector set while the arched lampposts created a graceful dance-like rhythm along the edge. I used extreme angles, heightened contrast and an intuitive, geometric sense of composition to prompt the viewer to take a closer look and come away with a deeper appreciation of the "ordinary." In the words of Henry David Thoreau, "The question is not what you look at, but what you see."

archival pigment print on Epson Hot Press Bright Paper 25.5 x 19.5 x .628" My camera gives me the ability to reveal to others the details I find in everyday subjects that often go unobserved. Exaggerated angles of view and juxtaposition of serendipitously placed elements combine with moody, sometimes dramatic light to leave the viewer with a sense of a presence unseen but felt. My photography is about hyper-focusing on the subject to solidify my own experience and provoke a memory to surface both for the viewer and me. The absence of color allows the viewer to become immersed in the place, mood and time depicted, but leaves room for personal interpretation and imagination as well. "The question is not what you look at, but what you see." - Henry David Thoreau

acrylic on canvas 10 x 8 x 1.25" I find peace and ultimate joy getting lost in the deep blues and teals of wild Florida's freshwater springs. Inviting as they are on the surface, the underwater surprises yielded by these jewels only add to the delight. Instantly calming, these waters help connect me to deeper thought and insight.

3D mixed media 30 x 23 x 5" War is the number one cause of child hunger. War destroys a country’s infrastructure thereby disrupting the chain of food production. This, in turn, leads to the vicious cycle of yet more unrest and violence. Children living in war-torn countries such as Yemen, Syria, South Sudan, Nigeria, Ukraine, and Palestine are very likely to be malnourished and ravaged by stomach-aching hunger. Where there is war and conflict, children are dying at a rate unfathomable to our well-fed sensibilities. How can we, as flourishing members of the global community, prevent these unnecessary and endless conflicts, these wars that result in the heartless deaths of millions of children?

mixed: paper on canvas 30 x 30 x 1.5" Millennium olive trees have grown in what was historically Canaan for thousands of years, some living today are as old as 3,500 years. They provide sustenance and livelihood to its historic residents. Israeli "settlers" have illegally bulldozed them to build compounds in the historically Palestine territory, affecting both the livelihood and culture established in the 5th century BC.

acrylics 30 x 30 x 2" I have been exploring color relationships and the interplay between shapes, light, and shadow for my entire career. Color is the driving force behind all of my art, and experimenting with a variety of mediums, materials, and sizes is an integral part of my creative process. In the painting Origami, thin layers of acrylic paint are glazed onto the canvas to give the illusion of light filtering through vibrant color. The effect of the loose brush strokes further enhance the softness of the light and give the paintings a more textural feel.

acrylic on canvas 33 x 33 x 2" These paintings are part of a series I am now working on called Organic Abstractions. Originally, they were produced as very small (6"x6"), intricate, very detailed collage and mixed media pieces. I decided use them as blueprints to rework them into much larger paintings. As always color takes center stage. It is the driving force behind all of my work.. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

acrylic on canvas 36 x 36" I came across a photo of a wonderful time shared with my family and I was compelled to paint the scene to relive that happy day we spent together. My mother now suffers from dementia. In painting There's A Party Goin' On Right Here, I wanted to depict her as the young and vibrant person she was and how I will always think of her. acrylic on canvas 32 x 28 x 2" In my latest series of work, Translucencies, I apply many thin layers of acrylic paint over a vibrant underpainting to give the feeling that light is filtering through the colors. The looseness of the brushwork and geometric shapes adds to the effect of what I am trying to achieve.

Collage on deep wood panel 15.75 x 20 x 2.75"Symbiotic is part of a series called “Lessons From The Trees.“ It was inspired by Suzanne Simard and her research into North American forests. In her book titled “Finding The Mother Tree,” she explains that she discovered forest life is interconnected through an underground network of tree roots and fungi feeding and healing each other. This symbiotic relationship reminds us that we as a species have also survived throughout history in a similar interdependent manner—families and societies nurturing one another. This work of collage on board includes original photographs, hand-tinted papers, acrylic paint, pencil and ink.

digital 7 x 10" Creative Spirit Unveiled: Inspired by the holistic concepts of space and time in Indigenous cultures, I explore ways to use light, reflections, shadows, and delicately balanced spatial relationships to reveal the spiritual strength and synergy that evolve with creative expression. I use custom software that allows me to “mold space with light” and create ethereal nth dimensional worlds with spatial and temporal transformations that manifest various perceptual dichotomies. oil on wood panel 9 x 12" I've loved the ocean since growing up on Long Island as a child. The crash of waves, the salt air and people jumping into the water on a hot day in their often brightly colored swimsuits is an endless source of fascination for me and has inspired a series of paintings of the beach.

oil on linen 24 x 36 x 1.5" This painting is inspired by my walks with my dog Bodhi. He's a spirited energetic animal so it was a rare opportunity to catch him in a contemplative moment In this painting, I feel that Bodhi is enjoying nature in a similar way to me, but with different sensations, including his exquisite sense of smell, and touch. The painting reflects my sense that as humans, we are part of nature, and having an experience with a different species can enhance our appreciation of the world around us.

watercolor and ink on paper 12 x 12" I dream of landscapes, lush and tropical, or watery and luminescent. My dreams insert themselves into my paintings whether I plan this or not. My process involves many layers of transparent and opaque color to create a vibrant painting. My images often include imagined planets, blue suns, red palm trees, and purple waters.
