The Great Egret
sculpture
18 x 9 x 10

I love biking along the Potomac River and watch all the wildlife including eagles, ospreys, blue herons and especially the Great Egret which migrates every year to the shores of Alexandria and along the Potomac tributaries.
The Great Egret was carved directly into the stone, sanded and polished. It is an abstract shape focused on the essence of the bird itself and its graceful motion.
After the sewage spill that took place earlier this year, this sculpture comes as a reminder to keep the Potomac clean and healthy not only for our drinking water but for the very rich wildlife that depends on it..
