  • ClockHands Oil & sculptural elements on canvas wrapped board Size of Piece: 49 x 46 These sculptural paintings are my own original style. I work with the paint and the construction at the same time, merging the two. Although this art could be listed as wall hung sculpture (relief) or as painting alone, neither description would be accurate. They are a combination of both disciplines which interact so completely that neither would be complete without the other. Unlike "assemblage" or "found object" sculpture these works are not 3D collages with elements highlighted by color. Instead through the use of many tints and tones of gray, the relief elements are subtly integrted with the painting. one flowing into the other. The colors themselves are controlled, yet full of variety, and held to a low intensity so as not to compete with the three dimensional elements. This work uses gloves as hands to help create a clock. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Lovers Afloat Alabaster Size of Piece: 15 x 21 x 11 This work is the tangible result of expressing the otherworldly experience of being in love. The man and woman embrace, floating above a sea swept boat, emphasizing their fantastical experience. The sculpture is pulled out of a boulder of alabaster, hand carved, using only a mallet and a variety of chisels. The piece was born of pure exploration, finding the forms through the chisel's tip. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Wish (The Escape) Alabaster Size of Piece: 30 x 15 x 6 This life size torso is a self portrait, created during a tumultuous time in my life. The cloth on the side rises up and the weave turns into forms that become birds, taking flight across the neck. The birds represent my yearning for freedom from a frightening, stifling relationship. I had to hide this stone as I was working on it, to prevent losing it. The day came when I was free, like the birds made from my own hands. This piece gives me a feeling of hope and joy because of the time shared together. It is uncanny how Wish holds natural light, glowing wherever it's placed. I now show it illuminated, to bring forth the true feeling of the piece. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Detainee Welded Steel Scrap Size of Piece: 40 x 26 This work is sadly timeless. The figure stooped with dismay, arms restrained is currently a growing statistic. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Refugee Family Welded Steel Scrap Size of Piece: 25 x 27 Much of my work is a series I call "talking back to the news." The upright scrap of a sidewalk grill started this one, and the family followed. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Bound Bonded Bronze Size of Piece: 40 x 24 x 16 The original piece was a large piece of black walnut wood. I created a small model and carved a male figure. He is starting to walk. Though his hands are bound in back with rope, and he is a slave, he holds himself upright with hope and self pride. This is a copy of the original and is made of bonded bronze. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Joie De Vivre Bronze Size of Piece: 30.5 x 8.75 x 15 The feeling of ultimate freedom and the spirit of joy I wanted to captured in this work. It evokes a sense of taking flight and liberation, as if barely touching the ground, one feels nothing holding them down and experiences complete self-joy. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sudden Breeze Bronze Size of Piece: 21 x 7 x 9 As I walked to my studio, inspiration struck me. A sudden gust of wind swept through me, enveloping me in its embrace. I closed my eyes, tilted my head back, and allowed the wind to fill me up. It touched every part of me. Once I reached my studio, I began working to capture that moment and feeling in my sculpture. When I look at this piece, I can still feel that sense of being taken over by nature and embracing it fully. The sculpture is about letting go and embracing the unexpected moments in life that come our way. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Span Steel on Wood Base Size of Piece: 26 x 38 x 6 "Span" is part of my Urban Series, growing up in downtown Chicago instilled in me a love for construction. The ever-changing overhead landscape of steel, cables and cranes sparkling in the light is in sharp contrast to the packed streets below. The message is one of hope as we build our future together. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Spirit Vessel with Gold Markings Shellac and gold flake on hardened cartapesta Size of Piece: 52 x 15 The sculpture explores the imprint of time, history, and mind on the interaction of materials, as experienced in myth, spirit, and the body. For this piece I created an armature of a young woman and wrapped her like an ancient Egyptian deity in layers of paper soaked in hardening agents. When she dried, I pulled her spirit’s shell away from the armature, creating a hollow vessel that viewers can look into to see where her spirit had once lived. Inside there remains a sense of beautiful nothingness that has joined the larger mind that flows through time, consciousness , relationships, challenges and opportunities. The outer Vessel shell represents the memory of love having passed through it, and I adorned it with golden circles and a triangle, symbols of perfection, strength and wealth. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Under Pressure Wood-fired stoneware, mink, cedar, iron Size of Piece: 22 x 20 x 8 Human Interference with Earth is the concept of this work. I grew up on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota where open pit, strip mining affected everyone's lives- positively and negatively. Today the scars of the iron ore mines still and forever will mark the earth. Today, I question mining methods and the impact on the earth's natural resources. In some instances, mining aids economic growth, but at what cost? Fresh water, air, wildlife and human habitat are under pressure. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Wolf Moon Soda fired stoneware Size of Piece: 18 x 18 x 16 I believe an artist must be deeply connected to the physical, metaphysical and spiritual world. Phenology of nature: Wolf Moon is one of a series of ceramic sculptures derived from direct observation of the night skies during different seasons. The Wolf Moon is a winter moon named by the Ojibwe. The concept of this moon is my direct observation contrasted with historical beliefs and the myths describing the phases of the moon. The ethereal beauty and emotive connection to nature is my inspiration. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Jpp Terracotta with Patina Size of Piece: 10 x 11 x 7 The character in his face inspired me. This piece summed up old age to me. I was much younger when I sculpted him. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Sisters Plaster Size of Piece: 13 x 5 x 10 The bond between sisters , brothers or both Is a gift taken for granted. • Chromosomal Handbag Plexiglass Wood Paper Ink Size of Piece: 15 x 15 x 7 Chromosomal Handbag was inspired by my background working in a biology laboratory and my desire to integrate science and art. In this piece the form is a handbag and the images are the chromosomes that we carry in ourselves. It references the fact that we can create our own image of ourselves but ultimately we carry our own genes. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Whispers into Space Plexiglass/Wood/Paper/Ink Size of Piece: 24 x 16 x 15 Whispers into Space is a combination of the past and the present and the future. • Alas . . . I Knew Him, Horatio Acrylic on Fabric Size of Piece: 13 x 12 x 4 I choose articles of clothing for my images in an intuitive manner. For this work, I dissected a man's dress shirt, then reassembled and stitched the pieces into a composition that felt aesthetically pleasing. I discovered that it reminded me of the scene where Hamlet contemplates the skull of Yorick. In this case the relic is an everyday article of clothing that may be resurrected in the future. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Grasping for Air Acrylic on Fabric Size of Piece: 24 x 18 x 3 I enjoy working with fabric, especially the intimate qualities associated with clothing. In this piece I captured the essence of an emotional drowning: The twisted garments and hands grasp for a way out of a socially and politically suffocating situation. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Taken Raspberry Alabaster Size of Piece: 17 x 13 x 10 One night in April, 2014, 276 schoolgirls in Chibok, Nigeria were kidnapped by a terrorist group called Boko Haram. This horrific news transfixed me and I made my sculpture, 'Taken', in response. I worked on the piece for months as their story remained alive for me, even as it faded in the news. In the time since, the 'Me Too' movement has publicized the global pervasiveness of sexual abuse, violence and repression. Artworks should hold the mirror, too. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • acrylic & oil on canvas
    5 x 5"
Coming Soon is part of the ongoing series of Bog Bodies I started in 2008. While exploring the theme of Bog Bodies and the constant cycle of all organisms, our impact on the environment and daily living took me on a side road to look for more. Water is the most important part of keeping everything alive, and my theme flowing. But when nature takes a turn and brings drought, it leaves an imprint on my ideas. And my ideas affect every single aspect of my life.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Seeing the World in Color Acrylic Size of Piece: 20 x 16 SEEING THE WORLD IN COLOR In this vibrant self-portrait, I weave a tapestry of color and joy, capturing my reflection in dancing rainbow hues. • Purple Persuasion
    Photography: Digitally Manipulated
Size: 8 x 8" I always like to think and create out of the box. When I photographed this flower, an Agapanthas, I knew that I didn't want an ordinary documentary image of the flower but wanted it to explode out with color and movement. I was able to do this using my computer . I achieved my goal perfectly. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • litho inks on Rices BFK handmade paper
    4.75 x 6.75"
My series of "adobe" images uses commonly found objects (scraps of paper, pieces of fabric, nets from vegetable bags) to create images of beauty.  My colors are reminiscent of trips to the western United States, reminding me of days spent in the beautiful images that can be found around us each and every day.  I work in the abstract to invite the viewer to use their imagination to enter into my world, and participate in the beauty that I hope to capture.  My goal is to reflect the joy and peace that I find in creativity.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Whispered Choices
    Fused Glass Collage
Size: 4 x 6" Although I am typically known as a paper collage painter, this piece is a fused glass collage painting. I incorporated much of the same aesthetic of layering paper but instead layered melted glass. This piece "whispered" its existence to me while I was making it...thus the title: Whispered Choices. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Quilt Top Study: Into the Woods
colored pencil and pen in paper
Size: 14 x 11.5 My "Quilt Top Studies" pay tribute to the module workers in my family, masons and quiltmakers, whose influence made me receptive to early palpable, systemic Conceptual Art. My sculpture, acrylic shaped canvas constructions in installation, collages and prints have resulted from this synthesis. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Ice Water
    Photography
    Size: 10 x 8
In Tales of a Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes said: “You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear.” I want to observe and to present things in a way that causes the viewer to stop and observe- just as I pause when I see something that causes me to say- wow! Or causes me to see the wonder in the world as if seeing it for the first time. We have the technology to immediately capture whatever is in front of us. The challenge is for people to slow down; to question whether there is only one way to look at something; and to search for new meaning in something they may have seen before. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Shedding Birch Bark
    Photography: Digitally Enhanced
Size: 14 x 11 In the spring when trees are in bloom all around our home, I am always intrigued by watching their leaves and flowers grow. In an area near our house we have White Birch trees, and the shedding of the bark has always fascinated me. It reminds me of snakes shedding their skin. Ths process for birch trees is a natural process as the trunk expands and makes way for new growth. The colors and shapes of the shedding bark are so colorful amd interesting. Another mystery of Mother Nature. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Through the Hollow Wood
Monotype: Acrylic on Sumi Paper and YUPO, Collage
    Size: 5.5 x 5.5
I use stencils and masks which I have made from YUPO, a synthetic material, to use in creating monotype prints. The build up of color and pattern on the stencils/masks over time creates interest of its own which, in turn, adds an intriguing element when combined as a collage elements with my monotypes. I use a chair motif in much of my work as a metaphor for human feelings. The chair in this piece may suggest a sense of reflection or, perhaps, a journey, or something uniquely personal to the person viewing it.

    8 x 10"
In Tales of a Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes said: “You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear.” I take my camera out. I may choose a subject; I may think “that would make a great picture”; I may visit a new place or one I’ve seen before. I want to observe and to present things in a way that causes the viewer to stop and observe.  We have the technology to immediately capture whatever is in front of us. The challenge is for people to slow down; to question whether there is only one way to look at something; and to search for new meaning in something they may have seen before.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Seashore Reverie Digital Photograph Size of Piece: 11 x 14 For this photograph I used Olympus camera. The Image left a deep impression of intensity of color value, lights and darks as a focal point reflected from the water's surface. I saw reds, blues and yellow color as primary and large areas are in orange and green as secondary colors.. There is some Value contrast of whites creating a sense of volumetric depth. I apply some gradation values which provide contours to detail forms of water surface with some increase of color intensity in order to bring the image to life. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Open to Interpretation Digital Size of Piece: 8 x 8 x 1 For me the process of composing these composite images is one that I choose not to examine too closely. Suddenly a fragment of something in one of my photographs or from the internet will resonate in a particular way forming a kernel of.......... Then other objects will begin to congregate, to be attracted to, will deepen the meaning of, the mystery of, the depth of......... Finally a composition will emerge. • Look Up and Listen to the Stars
    small marble head
    Size: 8 x 6 x 6
This small 2022 marble sculpture is an invitation for stargazing. More than half of the world's population lives in cities so we forget and overlook the innate relationship with the Universe. Beyond light pollution, there exists above our heads the same night sky, the same Milky Way, the same stars and galaxies that make no difference whatsoever between humans on Earth who might, if they wish to do so, look up and learn more about the sound waves of stars.

  • digital photography, Inkjet archival print
14 x 11 x 1" My passion for photographing people on the street started on a trip to Cuba in 2016. I saw the boy sitting behind a fence in a small park in Cuba.  The dappled light on him and the rest of the scene, is what made this shot so enchanting for me!

  • Night of the Soul Collagraph Print Size of Piece: 5 x 7

This piece captures the chaos of the night. A collagraph, like many printing techniques, reveals itself to you as it comes off the press, much like the night magically turns into day. The interplay of lights and darks describe my nights of short bursts of sleep contrasted with wakefulness. There's a dreamy yet also unsettling aspect to the piece.

It was created with a substrate of cardboard, inks that were applied and wiped away, printed in pieces. The line work adds to its mystery.

  • The Weight of Letting Go
Watercolor, Acrylic and Metallic Paint on Paper
Size: 9 x 12.5" The Weight of Letting Go was born from a moment of deep introspection—a meditation on loss, transformation, and the quiet courage required to release what once defined us. I was inspired by the emotional complexity of letting go: the sorrow, the emptiness, and the freedom that can follow. The figure sits at the edge of a vast, silent landscape, her wings severed and placed behind. To me, the wings represent the identities, roles, and dreams we sometimes have to surrender—whether by choice or circumstance. The nudity is symbolic of vulnerability and the rawness of that experience. I chose watercolor for its fluidity and softness, which allowed me to express the delicate balance between heaviness and light, control and release. This piece is not just about loss—it's about the in-between. The space after something ends, but before something new begins. That liminal place where we sit, breathe, and eventually, rise. • Alley in Bloom
    painting
Size: 8 x 10 Inspired by the quiet charm of Italian alleys, this painting layers wax and pigment to evoke cobblestones, flowering windows, and the final glow of sunset. A moment suspended between light and shadow, where nature and nostalgia meet. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Outside Caffé de la Paix, Rome Italy
    photography: digitally enhanced
    Size: 7 x 10.5
I am an artist-photographer-educator and photojournalism is paramount to my photographic work. On the street offers glimpses of life frozen in time. I favor urban environments as places that afford a hubbub of activity with people moving in their own spaces and unaware of others around them. This particular image is from a trip to Rome and made after breakfast with my son at Caffé de la Paix (Café of Peace) on Via di Tor Millina. While the chef in the café prepped and served us food, we had a great conversation with him and tips on places to visit and food to experience. We left the café and I turned around and saw this same gentleman step out for a smoke break (very common in Europe!) and I knew this was the image I wanted to capture. He framed the street activity.

  • Into the Blue Nightscape Mixed Pastel/ Acrylics, Pencil Size of Piece: 9.75 x 6.5 I set a challenge for myself –my foray into COLOR language. Explore its symbolic memory-stories told with color/texture/value. Paint–THEN read the story. A HAZY landscape- going in or leaving all behind? Dawn or dusk? A middle vertical space parting- a door to a Soft Blue life beyond? Anchored by a bold horizontal Yellow (a barrier to overcome?) A Blue and Yellow contradiction ! Below- Airy Blue-Green path detouring to the right. Above- hovering Blue/Magenta- weighting on our will to move forward? The Thrill of Blue-Blue Shadows-Sacred Blue- Blue Gods Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Mexican Dancer Digital Photograph Size of Piece: 17.25 x 12.5 x 1 I love photographing people on the street. "Mexican Dancer", one of my earliest works was taken in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and it was during a show that took place on the beach. The beautiful colors of the dancer's dress, as well as the elegant motion, inspired me to take this portrait. I waited for the moment she paused after the dance was over. This piece did take a bit of post processing, to darken the background, which was very busy. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • At a Crossroad 3D Photographic Collage Size: 28 x 28" A 3D photographic collage. The background is a compilation of sourced news headlines. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
