  • Painting Summer Lovers 15 x 19 x 1 in. “Creating art is a vehicle through which I can more easily communicate my impressions of the world. I enjoy using line, color and a dynamic design to tell my visual story. As I begin the creative process, the medium of pastel provides an immediate and colorful way to make painterly decisions and choices.” Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Succulents at Groundswell 12 x 12 x 1 in. "Succulents at Groundswell" was created en plein air at Groundswell Bakery & Cafe in Tiverton, Rhode Island. I am inspired by the café’s curated gardens and displays. I worked on site for a couple of mornings, studying the plants’ repetitive shapes and colors while enjoying the buzz of bees and people talking around me. I like to draw more than paint, so I make paintings by drawing, using acrylic paint markers. Some of the shadows are heightened using an ink wash. Photography Protection #3 12 x 11.5 x 1.75  in. Photography by nature allows alteration and transformation of scenes or events into personal alternate realities. I combine traditional techniques with contemporary ones. This enables me to record and then reinterpret the world around me. I work on an intuitive level without a predetermined image in mind. The serendipity of working in different mediums is what keeps me excited about experimenting with different photographic processes. This body of work addresses my fascination and love of lush gardens and landscapes. My choice of technique reflects my intention to evoke a feeling of romance while addressing the fragility of nature. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Madame Issac Pereire 14 x 11 x .001 in. Moving on in life I became steadily aware of the fact that my relationship with dreams and aspirations had become disconnected, survival became the guiding star. Stepping back and embracing larger constellations, realizing that all lives have an end date, it was time to make the most of what time I do have left, which is to nurture my original impulses and challenges while at the same time creating  meaningful connections between how I feel and ways to express it. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Painting Birds of the Air 13 x 19 x 2 in. "Birds of the Air" captures a poignant moment in life's journey, illustrating the tension between faith and worry that many women experience. This piece explores the universal struggle of trusting in life's process despite visible challenges. The contrast between the woman's worried expression and the whimsical "Birds of the Air" tote symbolizes the internal conflict between anxiety and faith. The color palette, featuring Branham's signature pink alongside emotive reds and calming blues, enhances the emotional depth of the piece. "Birds of the Air" invites viewers to reflect on their own journey of faith, self-trust, and the courage to move forward despite life's uncertainties. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Ambiguous Unseen 12 x 12 x 1.5 in. My recent paintings address buoyancy, levity, themes of duality and continuity, energy, fragility, microcosm versus macrocosm, and more. Indicative, expressive and meaningful qualities develop through the instinctive arrangement of colors and geometric elements. I am inspired by ideas from Suprematism, Constructivism, Dada, Synthetic Cubism, Conceptualism, Emblematic Surrealism, and American quilts. All thematic and visual exploration I do includes significant attention to color. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Spring Peeks through the City 8 x 8 in. Reminiscent of the spring woods, this beautiful chartreuse green shows how, as the dark winter begins to recede, spring breaks through in brilliant color. The blues of the sky and birdlike mark add to the illusion. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Works on Paper Life Force 22 x 29 x 1 in. My work from my teens to now is represented in transparent watercolor of nature or history.  Living in California for 20 years, I took workshops in acrylic, collage, and monotype print making.  From those experiences, my landscapes, abstracts, or non-representational paintings develop from how I view nature’s moods and organic forms. The current world events from COVID, changes in our climate, and challenges in our society inspired me to compose this piece, “Life Force”.  The elements we possess are our best resources. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Northern Song Dynasty Chinese Empresses 108 x 70 in. For the Fall 2024 New Member exhibit, I have selected a painting from my Chinese Empresses collection that features empresses from the Northern Song Dynasty. This piece is primarily painted in black and white, marking a creative shift for me and this collection. While I have always favored rich, vibrant colors in my work, my daughter, Fei Wu, encouraged me to explore a more minimal color palette to express my admiration and gratitude for these empresses. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting View of the Pond Through the Reeds 20 x 16 x 1 in. I was on a plein air painting trip to the Brandywine area, and was inspired by the landscape of a beautiful Delaware park, which had a river running through it, and ponds with native grasses and flowers. It was a hot, humid summer day, but the vibrant green of the grasses and reeds beside the water were worth studying. There always seems to be joy in the way wild vegetation grows next to water. I wanted to communicate that sensation. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Above the Skyline 60 x 48 x 1.5 in. My paintings are very textural. The smoothness, roughness and softness of the paint on the canvas reveal the feelings of calm, energy and resiliency.  My paintings hold hundreds of lines, angles and shapes. Texture is created with the palette knife and is either quickly or slowly pushed across the surface. Paint applied in a slow billowy swirl or hard structural edges depict life’s ups and downs.  My work shows a love of design and representational art. The past has come and gone and the future is something to dream away this moment to be revealed in my art. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Trichaptum Fungi (Trichaptum abietinum) 40 x 30 in. My work reflects my close observation of nature. I attempt to capture its endless fluctuations: shifting light, variegated colors, constant movement, evolving forms, evidence of resident fauna. Working abstractly, yet botanically accurately, I surprise viewers with unusual views revealing the complex design inherent in often unnoticed life. By sharing the beauty of humble local ecosystems, I hope to induce viewers to look deeply. I am exquisitely aware that, though nature is our collective home, human activity has caused irreparable losses of habitat, resource, and species. My work, thus, aims to respond to ecologists’ call for native ecosystem rediscovery and restoration. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting She, Bright as Yellow 16 x 16 x 2 in. 'She, Bright as Yellow' moved me to paint. From corsets, panty hose, Skims and Spanx we are so often asked to constrict, to make smaller. Working from my series of underwater works titled ‘Coming Up For Air”, the painting included in this submission reflect on the notion of breath; fighting for and finding the space to breathe in. My work is a joyful reclamation. Through provocation, humor, and strength, I examine equality and personal truths through a contemporary figurative lens. I explore the complex ways we all navigate in the spaces that surround us, and how I hope my work emboldens women to take up space. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Will You Catch Me? 16 x 16 x 2 in. This piece- Will You Catch Me? - was part of a body of work inspired by 'play'- in the way that many artists, such as myself,  utilize playfulness to get into the process of art making. With this piece, my process started with mark making, collage. painting, removing, drawing into, printmaking, until ideas began to emerge - a fantasy under and over water perhaps (?) since I am surrounded by quarries and ocean. Eventually a theme around risk-taking (with or without a net) began to surface. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting The Forest Glows at Night 42 x 42 in. I live on the shoreline in eastern Connecticut where there is a bounty of inspiration. I began years ago as a landscape painter.  Over time I transitioned into abstraction. I still consider myself a landscape painter but focusing more the abstract components of nature. My work explores patterns using aerial views of landscapes, i.e. coastlines, marshes, forests and rivers.  I use symmetrical, asymmetrical, and organic shapes that I see around me.  I am influenced by indigenous peoples, Japanese wood block prints and the work of Gustav Klimt.  I don't sketch my ideas first but paint directly onto the canvas and create as I go along, Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media The Impressure of Nothingness into Something 19 x 15 x 2 in. “The Impressure of Nothingness into Something” is #6 of a series of 12 Vestal Plates. It. is about love and the creative force: where we feel the physical convergence of the universe in our hearts which then moves us to make art, to be of service to our gifts, to express our spiritual nature. The stitching represents spine, ribs and alignment, the string of beads enhances the sacred womb, the copper leaf on breasts expresses vision and a wink gesture. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Mixed Media Red Skirt 12 x 18 x 1 in. Movement, ecstasy, yearning-all are revealed in the dance! Fascinated, I find the dancer-art leading me to look at my creativity with new eyes. As a photographer, I start each piece with a camera, portraying an impressionist view of the dance. In this piece, I noticed details of her hand and her flaring skirt. I print and embed the image in encaustic wax, then listen to it tell its tale. As I spend time with it, I add encaustic wax to build layers, also using other media. This tactile approach connects me deeply to the work. This body of work has challenged me to grow as an artist and human. I feel myself asked to look into my very soul to rediscover the multiple facets of my own humanity. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Works on Paper Farewell to the Goddess 16 x 16 in. I love the meditative nature of creating patterns and collages using drawing, carving, stamping and mixing media. Most of the imagery is pieced together from my sun-drenched memories of my adolescent years spent in India. This piece is about the celebration of the Goddess Durga. In Kolkata, every year in October, for 7 days, the city comes alive with hundreds of installation art pieces dedicated to the goddess depicting her in various creative ways. After seven days, the structures come down and the Durga idols are thrown into the river, symbolizing her return home, The city then goes back to its normal hustle and bustle. Months later the eroding idols can be found tossed aside. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Nyil 8 x 8 x 1/8 I am a self-taught artist, focused primarily on portraits and figures in oil and acrylic.  This painting is part of a series of portraits of friends and family, as well as people I encounter in everyday life. Nyil is a young man I met in Pittsburgh, who graciously permitted me to take his photograph so that I could paint his portrait. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Fiber Arts NUBIGI ,000,097. 9 x 14 in. All of the tiltles of art work include the term "NUBIGi" and a number. Numbers just state the order of art work.  NUBIGi means sewing in Korean. For me, sewing means passing through time. The needle pierces the fabric, and the thread connects the holes with the holes, drawing lines and planes from the points. Only expresses the sewing itself, shows that time is still in it. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Works on Paper Colonial Park 15 x 11 in. I like to work outside, and many of my landscapes start as a plain air painting. Sometimes, I will refine and finalize  my paintings in the studio. This work was started outdoors. I was attracted to the way the light reflected on the building in this scene.. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Painting American Art Spirit 20 x 16 x 2 in. The American Art Spirit is an oil painting of a male dancer in jeans leaping gracefully across the Hudson River. Painted en plein air on the shores of Rhinebeck, NY, I captured the movement of the water as it flows both ways late in the day. My model and intern, Guy, embodies the human beauty that fascinates me—the muscles, nerves, bones—the whole human package. For me, contemplating nature and the body is a sacrament. Inspired by NAC founder Robert Henri, I aim to express the American spirit through this painting. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Yellow Door 20 x 16 in. Vibrant Colors and Rich textures are a signature of my works. My paintings are always a process. I work intuitively as the image evolves.  Varied layers of glazing give lushness and depth, while the addition of mediums helps to create the textures that emerge in the final image. I work pushing and pulling shapes, surfaces, and colors, until I am excited with the uniqueness of each piece.  Yellow Door was inspired by the many homes we passed on the waterway  while my husband, cocker spaniel and I cruised the great American Loop through the Eastern United States and Canada. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Tidal 40 x 40 in. The artwork *Tidal* draws its inspiration from the natural beauty of New England's seacoast, particularly the captivating interplay of land, water, and sky. As a colorist, I interpret this environment through bold, expressive use of color, conveying not just what I see, but the emotional resonance these landscapes evoke. The fluidity of the acrylic, oil pastel, and watercolor on unprimed canvas allows for spontaneous movement and layering, capturing the ebb and flow of tidal rhythms. This piece blends abstraction with the organic forms of the seacoast, reflecting my deep connection to the region and its ever-changing nature. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sculpture Grasping for Air 18 x 24 x 2 in. I am attracted to both the flow of fabric and the elements of construction that transform an unstructured surface into a sculptured form that fits a human body.  Seams, edgings, buttons, zippers and all the other ways that cloth becomes clothing find their way into my current body of work.  Like an abstract painting, my work emerges from a process of deconstructing and then reassembling the fractured elements from my collection of discarded clothing.  I hand stitch the garment fragments into a low relief sculpture, then solidify the surface by applying multiple layers of canvas priming gesso.  Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Siren Song I 20 x 11 x 2 in. "Siren Song" is a mixed media painting that dives into the ocean's contrasting nature. The textural richness of the impasto technique reflects the power and movement of the ocean, while the abstraction evokes the mystery and allure that has captivated humanity for centuries. The painting hints at the ocean's violence and tranquility. The title, "Siren Song," reflects the ocean's seductive danger, luring viewers in with its beauty just as the mythical sirens did. The impasto technique itself, with its thick application of paint, draws the viewer in, inviting them to explore the textural depths of the artwork, much like the ocean beckons us to delve deeper. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Healthy Skeptic 18 x 18 x 1 in. When I start a new portrait, I work to establish a faithful depiction of my subject first, through careful sketching and underpainting, paying close attention to the underlying bone structure, musculature and proportion. Then, with my choices of color, texture, brushwork, and some intuition, I try to go beyond, to capture a sense of the subject’s inner self as well.   A finished painting conveys a likeness, but hopefully also a presence; when you look at it, you might feel it is looking back at you. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Tangled Up in Blue 20 x 20 x 1.5 in. I have a deep connection to the natural world that I see through the eyes of an artist.  My paintings capture a moment or memory of wonder, joy, and beauty, something special that caught my eye.  Paintings are inspired by the diverse colors of light, atmosphere, and nature in the  coastal landscape where I live.  I look for what is unique to convey a sense of place. Although often evoked by a fleeting moment, I translate in paint to transcend time.  Brushstrokes over glimpses of color intentionally reveal some of the painting process. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photography Mom 20 x 24 in. My portrait series, Soul Portraits, is an exploration of personal discovery and creative expression. I invite people to come to our session with an idea, experience or question they wish to explore and together we collaborate to portray their story photographically.  The portraits can be representational, symbolic or metaphorical in nature, and can be a single image or series.  This image is from a body of work in which my mom reveals her profound struggles with aging and her love/hate relationship with life itself. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Divine Dive Into Consciousness 11.75 x 11.75 in. This piece captures the delicate balance between strength and vulnerability. The figure, falling back into tall grass, embodies the beauty found within us all, inviting a sense of connection to the world around us. His outward-reaching hand encourages us to embrace our authentic selves, while the grass symbolizes the grounding presence of nature. Surrounding him, the grass represents not only our connection to nature but also how nature reaches out to us, inviting us to find solace and refuge. This work explores the fragile strength inherent in self-acceptance, reminding us that true brilliance lies in celebrating our shared humanity and our intrinsic bond with the natural world. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting Still Life with a Chocolate Bar 16 x 20 x 1 in. My goal for some years now have been to work with only two or three colors and their variations in a painting in order to achieve the full sound of these colors.  This is a relatively new task for me, it’s captivating to work on it. In Still Life with a Chocolate Bar the contrast main colors :  black, silver, orange - red ,  the combination of empty shiny  silvery and black vessels on an orange and  brick - red background  are supposed  to evoke certain associations and mood. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Morning Stretch 18 x 12 x in. I’m in love with the line.  The language of line, delivered with a crashing landing on a page or the gentlest calligraphic curve, or a collection of marks, exudes a power and a sense of storytelling that is beautiful to me. It transcends the verbal communication. Drawing the human figure in line, connects me to my models and the stories that they tell through their poses. It is a collaboration- the model, the artist, the line. Line educates me, supports me, and excites me. It is the vehicle that tells my stories. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting 12 x 12 x 1.5 in. One never knows for sure where one is going or if one has even arrived! The creative process is elusive and fascinating. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting 32 x 25 in. Usually, one idea follows another.  I have several themes that I go between, but I find, each seems to dovetail into the other to eventually build a cohesive collection. This is not planned, and I speak retrospectively. Also, the palette seems to be consistent. Maybe this is true as a result of years of work.  Nonetheless, there seems to be so much more to do and so many ideas not yet realized. I suppose it's never ending. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Painting 36 x 24 x 1 in. Explanation for Secrets among Blossoms- Life is a canvas splashed with unexpected twists. Those who master the art of embracing uncertainty and forging ahead are the ones who truly survive. Each heart is a wondrous chest, overflowing with secrets. The outward beauty may enchant the eye, yet beneath the surface lie veiled wounds and hidden mysteries. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Painting 16 x 16 x 1 in. Figures and vessels have similarities and intuitively tend to appear abstractly and subtly in sketches and paintings. The basis of "Then There Were Five" is a mix of intuitive movement countered with the mindful placement of marks and shapes. My daily habit of drawing creates a starting point, which lends to primarily drawing with paint using a neutral and serene palette. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sculpture 16 x 18 in. I call my recent series of wall relief sculptures “Vagina Masks.” I wrap, tie, and bind recycled materials and everyday objects found in my home (such as wire hangers, plastic trash bags, yarn, paper clips, etc.) to create this body of work. This series explore themes of sexual abuse, body dysmorphia, societal pressure to be perfect and forever young, and changes that occur in our minds and bodies as we age. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Works on Paper 20 x 16 x .50 in. My art is inspired by the 19th-century Fontainebleau painters and their up-close sous-bois perspective. I focus on the intricate details of natural textures, colors, and diverse life in the undergrowth of Florida's native trees. My contemporary up-close viewpoint is rooted in exploring light and shadow within monotype prints, plaster sculptures, and paintings. Layers of additive and reductive color are carved with mark-making tools to create textures that vibrate between contemporary, impressionism, and abstractionism, forming an interdependent relationship with the past and present. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting 20 x 16 x 1.5 in. Sleeping in the guestroom after a disagreement with my husband, I woke to this amazing light. What had been bitter became delicious. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Digital Photograph 13 x 20 in. As I walked in the fog, this lonely and worn building emerged from the misty greenery. I took out my camera and telephoto lens and captured the solitude of this shed. I wondered about its history and the stories it could tell. The architecture, though simple, had a charm and elegance in its design. The builder had a sense of detail, proportion and functionality. The structure was modest but orderly, with a clear path leading to the door. Would you like to enter? Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed Media Painting 20 x 20 x 1.5 in. This painting is part of the "Universal Us" series based on the notion that science and reason reveal that we are truly one with the universe.  All physical things derive from the same elemental building blocks, making us ... all the same. This series depicts diverse beings (some from the imagination), traveling through time, space or our minds and joining together in harmony.  In this painting, a Gong Fu figure formed by genetic coding, a tree like plant, and a landscape from another world, are separately and jointly ruled over by a symbolic law of gravity. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Works on Paper 36 x 36 in. This piece, Windblown, is part of a series called Transitions. When I started this series I was touched by the lament of “women of a certain age”, feeling that they were invisible, overlooked, and insignificant. This series is my attempt to visually capture this time in a woman’s life as an ending as well as a new beginning as the sunflower emits its seeds and begins again.  The subject of this work is an aged, dried sunflower. I used Chinese ink to explore the transient nature of life and the strength of that transience. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting 14 x 11 in. This piece was inspired by a visit to the American College of Building Arts in Charleston, South Carolina.. Michaelangelo himself would have been right at home in the sculpture studio of this academy,  I think what appealed to me about this piece, aside from its classical grace, was its status as a work in process, a timeless moment on the way to becoming a finished statue. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Works on Paper 24 x 18 in. Since the pandemic, I have been incorporating masks and braille in monotypes to explore how we hide or reveal ourselves.  This series, “Who Sees?”, explores the use of veils, masks, head coverings, face coverings in different cultures.  How do we perceive women when they are veiled or masked?  Are they disempowered or empowered?  Do the masks/veils offer freedom or protection or bondage?   The images that I create are multilayered, pushing us to delve deeper into this subject.  “Who Sees” simultaneously draws you in and pushes you away. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photography 7 x 5 in. w/frame 12 x 10 in. As a photographer, spending time in nature’s wildlife habitats can result in either missed opportunities or getting a perfect image. The morning I visited Donnelly Wildlife Preserve, I hoped to photograph marsh birds along the water’s edge. As I drove along a dyke, I saw a unique shaped branch shooting out of the pond that would make a good landing spot for avian subjects. I set-up my tripod and camera, with 500mm lens, to aim just at the top of the branch. Then I chose my camera settings so I would be ready to snap a photo if a bird landed there. I was ecstatic when, about 30 minutes later, a Belted Kingfisher perched on the branch. I often hear Kingfishers when out near marshes, but is difficult to see them; and photographing one is even more so. Capturing this photo made my day.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Paint, Print, Paper, Fiber on Arches Paper 9 x 12 in. I'm an award-winning abstract artist who has worked in many disciplines during the course of a 35+year career. My current passions are creating textile artworks and/or mixed media collage. "No More Hanky Panky" is a combination of paint, print, paper and fiber. The fiber being a bit of yarn and pretty lace fabric cut-up from old underwear. I often use recycled materials in many of my artworks. A patron recently stated..." The depth of her life experiences is unmistakable in her art. I visited her website and was both delighted and moved. Each piece or series of pieces is visually distinctive, but no matter what medium she employs, there is a consistent richness of texture, vibrancy of color and fluidity of shape... a most prolific artist..."   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil, cold wax on wood panel 7.5 x 6.5 in. Through writings and bold marks traveling in and out of the layers of oil and cold wax, Asheville artist Cindy Walton captures action, energy and quiet musings of nature in her paintings. The surfaces are layered with paint to create depth and texture. As the layers are built, Cindy incises the surface with sharp-edged tools and large sticks of oil paint.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photography (4-color) 11 x 11 in. w/frame 12 x 12 in. The fall is a favorite time of year to travel to nearby Jerome, Arizona, a booming copper-mining town incorporated in 1899. House of Joy is a delightful spot to visit with its antique curiosities that are so lovingly displayed in their window. We enjoy visiting this former ghost town, especially on Halloween and Christmas.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Painting on rice paper with ink and Japanese color 5.5 x 11 in. This work was inspired by the awesome power of nature surrounding Matsu Shims.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Archival watercolor pigments on 300lb Arches paper 6 x 3 in. w/frame 10 x 8 in. I often have little thought of what I am painting until the first few marks appear on the paper. My subconscious plays a huge part in my work. I really had no idea where this image was going as I created it; I just had a sense of loneliness and isolation and finality, which is reflected in the title.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on canvas 10 x 10 in. w/frame 10.5 x 10.5 in. I have long been fascinated with painting water in all it’s variations. I love the power and incredible colors present in the churning ocean as well as the quieter moods of a calm pond or the rushing of a stream over rocks. Recently, I got a dog who loves the water. I spend a lot of time with her and her dog friends at the beach or a pond. So it wasn’t much of a leap to want to try my hand at representing the joy of these ‘water dogs.” It’s a rich source of reference material watching these dogs being crazy, goofy and so very happy as they race play in the water or swim for balls and sticks. This painting is part of a series of dogs and water I am currently working on — the best of two things that I love!   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic on canvas 10 x 10 in. w/frame 11.5 x 11.5 in. My work is about finding connections through shared places and experiences. I see beauty in the ordinary. Often overlooked or forgotten, these scenes have stories to tell.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Watercolor 9 x 12 in. w/frame 11 x 14 in. Aside from being an accomplished Architect, [the Member] is also a Visual Artist, creating paintings [oil and watercolor], monotypes, and photographs. Her paintings aim to capture the “genius loci,” or essential nature of the place, of key Architectural works. Those explorations have, in turn, assisted with her professional design work. She uses her own photographs as the basis for paintings. Therefore, her passion is travel, and learning about new countries, cities, towns, and landscapes through this artistic endeavor! The paintings submitted for this exhibition portray distinct spaces -- large areas where the built environment is perfectly in sync with the natural world.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on canvas 6 x 6 in. Just something a little bit fun!   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photograph on metal 12 x 12 in. I am fascinated by hummingbirds. They are so beautiful and are an amazing site to behold. To watch them take long drinks while dispensing the energy it takes to hover over their nourishment.is a wonder in itself. I had set up my camera, tripod and plenty of nectar, and photographed trying to capture their little bodies without blurring their beauty. With the red feeder and contrast of the bird, I knew I wanted the print to be on glossy metal. Hopefully, the viewer can feel the energy of this tiny creature.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Platinum/palladium photograph 8 x 10 in. In my art work, I capture the simple beauty in the natural environment, providing moments of serenity. I use water and light as beautiful threads that draw the eye in. The quality of light is of paramount importance, defining the textures and forms in nature, and patterns of light and shadow. I contact printed the image using the platinum/palladium printing process to capture a softer, painterly effect, evoking late 19th century idyllic landscapes and lending a poetic quality to the image.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Fused Glass using different glass compounds 12 x 10 in. w/ frame 12 x 10.5 in. This body of glass artwork depicts my personal journey of exploration of kiln-forming glass techniques over the years and bringing to life other facets of my art into glass with my live model sketches. Over the years I have been studying different glass techniques, and at the same time sketching live models. My goal was to have the live models as glass art pieces. Learning enamel drawing and experimenting with powders to form different tones has enabled me to do just that. The pieces are layered glass with backgrounds using various glass powders and stenciling. This combination reflects drawing skills with kiln-forming glass. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic on birch board 12 x 12 in. Uneven paths taken during walks in woods is the inspiration or the work. I chose different mediums to give the sensory experience of the walk. My foxhunting scenes are taken from my firsthand, real-life observation, and they tell a story about the world of horses and their people. • Carved pink alabaster 5 x 8 x 12 in. This small stone depicts a sweet moment in my life when I redirected my journey as a person, and started to truly immerse myself in my thoughts, desires and surroundings. I am shown half submerged, relaxing into the warmth of the vessel's water. The oyster refers to the sensual side of being a woman- luxuriating in a salty ancient essence. The choice of revealing a female form from the ancient material of alabaster was apropos. It was exciting to see the form slowly appear, yet relaxing as well. The mood of the subject and the approach in sculpting it are in synch.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photography 12 x 9 in. I love the contrast of the cellophane and the living tissue.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Watercolor on rag paper 12 x 8.75 in. For me, inspiration comes from ideas about how the universe works. Nikola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Combining preparation and planning with spontaneous, intuitive action I am on an experimental journey with watercolor to examine the natural world. My previous work was in oil, acrylic or pastel. Watercolor enables radiance with layers of transparency clearly showing the immediacy of the medium laid out over the underlying organized structure of the composition. The thought-provoking question of our reality is apparent in the ethereal nature of art where images vibrate with intensity of color and emotion and offer much more than the visual, something beyond the surface .   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on canvas applied with palette knife 9 x 12 in. The natural world has always been the driving force behind my creative work. Each piece is an attempt to express the energies and rhythms of the life around us. These are the sparks that tart the process. • Hand-formed porcelain sculpture with an opal 7 x 6.5 x 3.5 in. I hand-form all of my porcelain nature-themed sculptures. I often create abstract or approach realism in my forms. • Photogravure 6.5 x 8.25 in. w/frame 11.25 x 11.25 in. I am intrigued by the way our hands express our authentic selves. I photographed the women in my family, holding small but suggestive objects, this is my sister Liz, holding a root, I dug up from my garden and cleaned. She holds it tenderly, my heart in her hands. The process is photogravure, a painstaking but beautiful process of turning a photograph into an etching. Acrylic on Cradled Panel 8 x 8 in. Pebble Beach represents a special place for me and my kids. When they were young, we would walk down to the bank of the Eagle River near our home in Colorado. Loaded with small rocks from the spring runoff, we would have throwing contests with the stones to see who could get the most "skips" across the river. I always smile when I remember those lazy summer days with my young children and the joy in their smiles. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic, Gouache, & Colored Pencil on Paper 5.5 x 8.5 in. The Gates is an exploration of life beyond the physical senses, inviting viewers to consider an ethereal realm where the boundaries between the known and the unseen blur. Through swirling colors and intricate textures, the painting presents a vision of transcendence. At the heart of the composition is an angelic figure, bathed in soft light, symbolizing the connection between the physical and spiritual planes. The wrought-iron gates in the foreground serve as both a literal and metaphorical threshold, suggesting a passage from the material world into realms of deeper consciousness. The sky, filled with fiery reds and tranquil blues, evokes a universe brimming with unseen energies. This piece reflects a fascination with metaphysical themes, encouraging viewers to reflect on the possibility of realities that lie beyond what we can immediately perceive..   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Sterling silver on prepared paper 12 x 9 in. Crinum lilies ’queens of the forest’, suddenly send up their spikes and flower, fragrantly and elegantly, in late summer. • Acrylic gels, acrylics on canvas 8 x 10 in. This painting is from a series I called Kells, which refers back to medieval times and myths. • Pastel on sanded paper 8 x 8 in. I have been painting impressionistic images of sea, sky and land and decided last winter to try something I had done in art school. She also does most of the domestic labor in her own home. Bety’s paid labor hours, spent cleaning houses, are represented by heavy, earth-colored forms cast from various types of potscrubbers. Her unpaid work hours, many of which are spent volunteering within her church community, are represented by lighter disks with holes reminiscent of tracery. Hours not spent working are spaces on the chain. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • B/W silver photograph on fiber with inks 9.5 x 9.5 in. w/frame 16.5 x 16.5 in.   While enjoying some street photography on Ninenzaka Walkway, Kyoto, Japan, a lovely, young woman in full Geisha regalia ran past me at the speed of light. With no time to prepare, I instinctively snapped a photo. Then, as if an apparition, she was gone. Later, I found her facial expression curious. Contemplative? Reflective? Amused? • Unique Platinum/palladium photograph 5 x 7 in. w/frame 11 x 14 in.   In my art work, I capture the simple beauty in everyday life, the commonplace or ordinary scenes in the environment. These images offer us rare moments of solitude, time to slow down and observe the world around us, and to enjoy quiet beauty and serenity. A photograph captures a portion of this beauty and tranquility, offering viewers quiet moments of reflection. Some of my favorite places to photograph are close to home, along city streets and nature trails. I use water and light as beautiful threads that draw the eye in, providing an opportunity to examine nature and the built environment. The quality of light is of paramount importance, defining the textures and forms in nature, and patterns of light and shadow. A strong sense of design is also important in these images. I use the platinum/palladium printing process to capture a softer, painterly effect, evoking late 19th century idyllic landscapes and lending a poetic quality to the images. The platinum/palladium process, a time- honored process, also renders a rich tonal scale and permanence to the images. It is a time-intensive, hand- made process—from coating the paper with varying mixtures of the platinum/palladium solution to exposing the negatives to sunlight and contact printing the image. Each platinum/palladium print is a unique, vintage quality print.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Photograph printed on watercolor paper using liquid light 20 x 15 in. My photographic goal has been to achieve simplicity of design and composition reminiscent of classical style. I have created images, often using as my subject the reflection of my own body in mirrors. The reflected image brings a surreal quality to the images, transcending time and space. My model is a woman in search of her lost identity: a mother, daughter, lover, and divorced wife, torn between her traditional upbringing and her present life in a foreign land. In 1989, I started using “liquid light” on watercolor paper with my photographs in the darkroom, painting with this medium to show the brush strokes. In my own style, I achieve a unique combination of strokes and images, so that my photographs may look like Japanese black brush paintings. By using brush strokes I was able to bring flowing movement into my pictures, resulting in fascinating visual effects. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Archival digital photograph on paper 16 x 20 in.   Walking by the bedroom I was touched by the intimate moment at day's end between this mother and daughter as her brother is already in dreamland. • Digital photo ltd ed signed on front 11 x 14 in.   In Tales of a Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes said: “You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear.” I take my camera out. I may choose a subject; I may think “that would make a great picture”; I may visit a new place or one I’ve seen before. I want to observe and to present things in a way that causes the viewer to stop and observe. I want people to see other people.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Photograph 12 x 12 in.   I felt so fortunate to have caught this special moment of two women friends, one cool summer morning as they walked together in the sea. I loved that they were touching, as though one was guiding or encouraging the other to move through the water, perhaps deep in conversation. I feel this scene said so much, especially since they were alone. It speaks to friendship. The joy and encouragement we experience from it and the importance of connection.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • 35mm digital image 18 x 12 in. w/frame 26 x 20 in.   The image titled 489 was produced from a 35mm digital image. Other than saving it a jpg no other actions took place in Photoshop. The image was captured on an early July morning at a local kayak shop. The bright, colorful design shows the reflection of a rack of kayaks on the side of a glossy black box trailer. I could not resist the playful, abstract shapes that changed forms with every step as I approached. The pattern of the black panel rivets creates a repeating rhythm to the design.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Color Photograph 12 x 12 in.   "Siblings: Allies and Adversaries in Life's Journey" captures a moment of quiet togetherness, focusing on two siblings sitting side by side. • Digital photograph printed on Epson photo paper 13 x 10 in.   This photo is close to my heart, taken while on tour with my now adult daughter in Vietnam. The grandmother seemed very confused while the younger women pointing a figure at her called her out. The tired look on her face, the protected child on her back, the woman behind her hearing and taking note… all called to my sense of awareness of kindness lost.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Digitally enhanced photograph 12 x 12 in.   Making sense of the world these days can be overwhelming. Life is complicated and the stimuli constant. I often long to get away to my happy place by the sea, listening only to the wind song and the rhythm of the tide, feel the sea breeze wash over me, and just breathe. “Amid a world of noisy, shallow actors it is noble to stand aside and say, 'I will simply be.” - Henry David Thoreau   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photograph 30 x 20 in. w/frame 34 x 24 in. Red Descent: Descenso Rojo is a visual narrative exploring life and identity through my mother’s Puerto Rican culture. This photograph showcases a hibiscus, the national flower, viewed through red glass that forms an eye-like aperture, symbolizing a birth canal. The red vase, a sentimental gift from my mother on Valentine’s Day, adds personal depth to the piece. The vivid hues echo the passion and intensity of the island, while the glass emulates waves of the sea, and flowing blood, capturing the essence of both strength and resilience. The flower’s human-like figure embodies the journey of birth and rebirth, reflecting a profound interplay of chaos and tranquility. The eye-like structure suggests awareness and introspection, inviting a view through a lens of rich heritage and personal growth. This image celebrates the enduring spirit and beauty emerging from transformative experiences. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Photography 15.28 x 13.6 in.   Becoming a commuter late in life, the visuals in the subway have sensitized me to the lives of all those who ride, guide and sustain the system, and how they protect their personal space. In a city of nearly 8 million, the diversity and impact of so many lives upon each other, requires this protection That said, it is also the moments when those boundaries are broken by the good or bad interactions, that defines the residents' and visitors' experience.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photograph on watercolor fine art paper 11 x 14 in. w/ frame 16 x 20 in.   The forest is my sanctuary, a place where I can slow down and appreciate Nature's gifts—serenity, solace, and healing. It's where I reconnect with a sense of childlike awe and collective bonding to its physical, mental, and spiritual riches of light and connectivity. My works capture the dappled light and life up close and personal, creating a symbiotic relationship with the past and present. The subjects of lichen, moss, algae, and insects showcase the symbiotic relationship with trees in textural detail and harmonizing colors found beneath the trees and offer observations of symbiotic life, hope, and light of our collective future.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photography 16 x 20 x 2 in.   There are no hands like a grandmother's, that have soothed the sick, planted and tended the seeds, cooked and served the food, sewed clothes, and might have delivered a spanking or two! • Oil on canvas 21 x 25 in.   LOOK OUTSIDE The model for this painting is my beautiful granddaughter Jamie, with gorgeous naturally curly saffron colored hair. She is only 8 years old here, but she is tall, making her look older. She is unaware of her natural youthful beauty. I love the lopsided bow on the back of her shirt. Seeing the work in progress, Jamie asked me to put an owl in the painting. I painted a barn owl in flight. The owl, like her wisdom, is coming towards her, but in her innocence, she looks the other way. Pensive (Jesse)This lovely young woman sits at the sweet threshold of adulthood. Her skin is soft and rosy. She's surrounded by hearth and home.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mixed media, drawing on paper 24 x 18 x 1 in.   Lena is my oldest grandchild and only granddaughter. Although she lives on the West coast, we have always shared a special bond. This summer, while she, her father and brother were visiting us in Virginia, she got her first period. Later, as we sat together, I began to sketch. At one point, she created a peep hole to look through as we talked. That gesture portrayed for me the ambivalence of the moment. It felt as though she was looking out at the future, as she contemplated the consequences of her body changing to her adult self. Her pose captured he tension between childhood and adulthood, highlighting the uncertainty and conflicting emotions that come with this transition   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on canvas 24 x 18 x 1 in.   This picture is a retrospective look at my life. The path of a women who grew up in Siberia, and as an adult began wandering around other countries and culture. • Acrylic on canvas 20 x 20 in.   When I was a young girl, my dad taught me to swim. He'd let me hold onto him as he swam deep underwater....and I loved that feeling of gliding through the water, holding onto him. I never could last as long as he could underwater, and I'd have to let go and swim madly up for air. Those are some of my favorite memories with him...swimming. When he died, I dreamed we were swimming together again, only this time I was the one swimming deep underwater and he was the one swimming madly to the surface...and this time he went far further than the surface.; he went straight on into the sky. I woke up missing him, but happy we could swim together again...even if it is in my dreams.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on canvas 24 x 24 x 1.5 in.   When my mother passed away I found I couldn't continue painting as usual and painted only her death for six months, always in an expressionist manner. At first the works were colorful, even cheery; next a beautiful waterfall of tears; and finally, my entry "Mourning Aiti," a somber, and as it happens, feminine, design.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Ink, pastel, and color pencil on paper 40 x 22.5 in.   Ever since antiquity, astronomers have studied the 13 phases of Venus, from her rise as the morning star, to her descent into invisibility, and her re-emergence in the evening sky. These phases occur over a 19-month cycle, marking both a physical and a spiritual passage. I expressed each phase in a different work. The journey begins with Inception, passing through Gestation, Birth, Emergence towards Fullness and Self-Discovery. Then Immersion and Transmutation are followed by Rebirth, Remembering, Wholeness, Completion. My inspiration was a found ledger of observations of the 1874 Transit of Venus, a phenomenon occurring every 243 years when the planet moves across the face of the sun.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Monotype 36 x 24.74 x .75 in.   The forest, for me, is more than just a place. It's a sanctuary, a source of inspiration, and a canvas for my art. It's where I slow down and appreciate the gifts of nature, experience serenity, and seek healing. This deep connection to nature is the driving force behind my work. It reflects life's journeys as an artist, a mother, and my role as a human in the natural world. My art vibrates with this, communicating with mark=making rooted in impressionism and abstractionism, forming a symbiotic relationship with the past and present with the joy of raising children and sadness of leaving the nest. The works are a dance of light and hope that I found in change and share with the viewer.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on canvas 20 x 24 x .7 in.   "Taking a Break" captures a moment of serene introspection as a woman, suspended in a dreamlike state, floats atop a cloud against swirling cosmic hues. This piece conveys the profound experience of pausing amidst life's complexities, highlighting the intimate relationship between the female spirit and the universe. The painting reflects the strength and resilience inherent in the female journey.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on stretched linen canvas 16 x 16 x 1/2 in.

  • acrylic on canvas 33 x 33 x 2" These paintings are part of a series I am now working on called Organic Abstractions. Originally, they were produced as very small (6"x6"), intricate, very detailed collage and mixed media pieces. I decided use them as blueprints to rework them into much larger paintings. As always color takes center stage. It is the driving force behind all of my work..   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • oil on linen 38 x 28 x 1.5" My paintings deal with the luminosity of light. They are inspired by a need and my choice to embrace brightness and positivity in the darkness that seems to hover over the entire world like an enormous dark cloud. I use organic shapes that are derived from nature with the intention to lift the spirits of the viewer.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • acrylic on canvas 24 x 24 x 1.5" What I see, hear, feel and experience makes its way into my art. Growing up in multiple cultures influences my work, and my love of fairy tales, fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi seeps through as well. Through the use of vibrant colors, a sense of movement, and unexpected imagery, I hope the viewer is drawn into my work in a way that provides space for their own interpretation and lived experience, but always with a twist, as in RNA. At first glance it appears to be a landscape, but there is more more to this story that I hope the viewer will see.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • acrylic & mixed media on canvas 24 x 18 x .2" What I see, hear, feel and experience makes its way into my art. Growing up in multiple cultures influences my work, and my love of fairy tales, fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi seeps through as well. I paint mostly in acrylics and gouache, and love to experiment with a variety of techniques and materials. As I work, I am often inspired with new images, so I find myself working on several paintings at the same time, or creating a series. The Dance is part of my "music moves us" series, interpreting music and movement through the use of vivid colors, papier mache and fabric.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • acrylic on stretched canvas 24 x 24 x 1.5" My approach in creating this artwork was to render a turbulent underpainting and then add an overlaid of white shapes which redirect the contrasting energies and movement of the image.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • oil on canvas 36 x 48 x 2" This is a one of ancient symbolic fruits. In my painting I express my appreciation to the nature, to our well-being, and to the ancient blessing not only to us but to future generations to come.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • oil on canvas 40 x 30 x 1" In my painting I wanted to express my first impression of Manhattan. It was too big to comprehend. So I decided to settle magical images of shamanic culture of my first home Siberian culture in this city to make it more friendly and merciful towards me and my family.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • oil on panel 26 x 20 x 2" The spark of inspiration for this body of work came from a stay in New York City, specifically in the Chelsea neighborhood. In the painting Chelsea’s Story, the vibrating, sunlit colors on the church spires were absolutely irresistible and something I had to paint in contrast to the rest of the building in shadow. I find this an exciting approach in my work, paying respect to artists I admire who have come before such as Edward Hopper, Charles Sheeler and countless masters.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • acrylic, oil, ink, & canvas collage on linen 36 x 24 x 1.5" My painting series is a profound dialogue between our planet’s crisis and my creative expression. I often ask myself what message I can give the viewer through my art. We are living in perilous times with climate change affects accelerating. As an artist I am constantly looking at the beauty of the land and oceans and inspired to create my perception in an abstract and organic way. When one sees my art, I want to convey not just a painting but a story of our planet. I look at the elements of the earth, the balance of nature, and a bird’s eye view of the stunning contrast of land that we don’t always see. While our planet is vast and different it is all one in how we can preserve it for future generations. I see inspiration in the elements of Earth and beyond in its organic and abstract nature. Many of the materials used in painting are derived from elements of the earth and I use these elements to build something abstract and yet symbolic of what our planet is made of.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • watercolor & mixed media on paper 30 x 23" I am an abstract painter, and I work primarily in watercolors with mixed media elements on paper. I’m inspired by the interplay of colors, shapes, and uneven lines, and I love the fluid, unpredictable nature of watercolor paints. I work very intuitively: I always have a starting point - a particular color combination or focal point - but then I just go wherever inspiration leads me, often surprising myself! My work is very influenced by nature, and I find myself particularly drawn to loose rounded shapes, which have become a recurring motif in much of my work. I often include botanical elements in my artwork, most of which have deep personal significance for me - reminding me of cherished people and places in my life. Painting brings me peace, balance, and joy, and it helps me maintain an even keel in our uncertain times.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • acrylic on wood 72" round Beautiful repetitive patterns in nature have been always an inspiration for my art works. You can see flow of life in all different patterns. In my paintings I try to capture these beauties and try to imitate them by the flow of fluid acrylic. My aim is always is to bring calmness and peace to the viewer’s eyes and spirit.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • acrylic & collage on sintra panel 48 x 60 x .25" My images are primarily painted directly from life, with the subject typically casting a gaze back at the viewer. My paintings respond to themes “humanity”- my fellow women, forced migration, social justice, civil rights, natural and man-made calamities, as well as the respite of nature’s continuum. My process comes from my desire to bypass self-conscious inhibitions in the pursuit of self-expression. In 1990, I felt artistically "reborn" when I started painting with my non-dominant left hand and discovered renewed creative freedom. This, as well as using oversized brushes, gives me speed and fluidity, resulting in either as a fully representational finished painting, or the base on which to build a mixed media collage.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Fiber 8 x 8 x 1.5 in. Symbols and their relationships to each other form the syntax of my Logic Grid. Drawing on ideas of the intersection between written language and spirituality, this piece includes passages that are meticulous hand stitched, embellished with gold leaf, and monoprinted. Then it is deconstructed and reassembled, being refined with each reconstruction into a unique language to be sensed more than read.   Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Batik on silk mounted on canvas 40 x 30"
During my travels through Morocco, particularly in the enchanting city of Safi, I became captivated by the intricate beauty and cultural significance of their doors.  In Safi, doors are adorned with intricate tile work, reflecting the city's rich history as a center of pottery and ceramics. I never knew what I would discover as I rounded the corner in the Medina- the ancient walled part of the city. Through my photographs and batik paintings, I aim to capture the essence of these Moroccan doors—celebrating their visual splendor and the stories they silently hold, inviting viewers to journey with me into the heart of North African culture.

  • oil on canvas 40 x 30 x 1.5"
This painting was inspired by the flowers on the tropical brugmansia plant I have been overwintering for years and abstractly by images of the galaxy in which we are a part. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant community of life in my garden, my flowers invite universal questions of existence and purpose in their quest for survival, eventual senescence, and rebirth. The merging of the visions of space with the identifiable floral images by using transparent glazing between the micro and macro visions symbolizes the interconnectedness and fragility of all life, underscoring the need for open discourse to ensure universal survival.

  • acrylic on canvas 14 x 11"
Borrowing the lake house of a friend, and taking time away from the usual, a group of my friends gathered on Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, for fun and adventure. This image of the house reflected in the lake, is the view from a kayak. The friends (not shown but having stayed together in the house) are those from high school, and the reflections may represent how time breaks up the memories, as well as how moving water, like time, breaks up the reflections. The more friends, the more broken memories may be stitched back together, especially when some go back to elementary school!

  • 4 refracted watercolors on up-cycled box with poem 6 x 16 x 11"
An old jewelry box was up-cycled - the four surfaces cleaned and 4 refracted watercolors added to correspond with each of the four lines of a poem written for the box. Sky knows the snow will cloak the resting branches Sky knows the tilting of the earth will warm the trees and bring them to life Sky knows the heat of the summer will bring the fruit ready for harvest Sky knows the falling of leaves returns the strength of the tree to the earth for the next year. Most of the other surfaces are just left as they were, to remind the user of the box's previous life. Acrylic glazing makes the box a useable item.
