  • Shahnameh Oil on Canvas Size of Piece: 36 x 48 The painting is inspired by childhood memories. Somehow, translations of Persian texts of Ferdowsi's poems Shahnameh penetrated into Siberia behind the Iron Curtain. The phenomenon of a foreign culture that came to the snows of Siberia to surprise and enchant with its exotic fantasy is reflected here in the form of an image of a Persian prince appearing either in a dream or in reality to a Siberian lady. • Secrets Among Blossoms Acrylics and Watercolor on Aqua-board Size of Piece: 36 x 24 x 1.5 Secrets among Blossoms- Life is a canvas splashed with unexpected twists. Those who master the art of embracing uncertainty and forging ahead are the ones who truly survive. Each heart is a wondrous chest, overflowing with secrets. The outward beauty may enchant the eye, yet beneath the surface lie veiled wounds and hidden mysteries. Frozen Blooms- is about the quiet toll of life’s hardships. The woman holds a bouquet of flowers—symbols of beauty and hope—but she doesn’t seem to feel their warmth. Her gaze is distant, her expression unreadable, as if the struggles she’s faced have left her numb. The deep purple tones wrap around her like a lingering sadness, while the bright yellow background reminds us that life’s warmth still exists, even when it feels out of reach. This painting speaks to those moments when we carry beauty in our hands but feel unable to embrace it, when the weight of our past makes it hard to see the light ahead. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Outlook Santorini Acrylic on Canvas Size of Piece: 30 x 40 x 1.5 Painting is a meditative journey for me, a way to process loss and transform grief into something vibrant and full of hope. After my brother passed away, I felt an urgent need to create—not just for the sake of making art, but as a way to heal. Through bold colors and expressive brushstrokes, I seek to uplift both myself and those who experience my work, showing that even in darkness, beauty and joy can emerge. In paintings like Outlook Santorini, New Day, and Flower Fields, I abstract natural landscapes to capture their essence and emotion. Outlook Santorini reflects the island’s peaceful vistas, translating its tranquility into layers of color and movement. New Day speaks to renewal and optimism, its light-filled hues evoking the fresh start that comes with dawn. Flower Fields is a celebration of nature’s energy, bursting with expressive colors that mirror the vitality of a landscape in bloom. • Hava Mixed Media on Paper Size of Piece: 24 x 18 x .05 As women, we are not simple. We are complex, exquisite beings that hold more potential than ever recognized. For thousands of years, across regions, for the sake of safety, we hid our true nature to accommodate those with made-up power. Now, we are leaping out of our assigned frames and are claiming our own narrative. Equality is a basic human right, a fundamental pillar in establishing a peaceful and prosperous world. While progress happens, there is still a great deal left to do. Girls and women continue to face significant challenges all around the world. Historically, though, women are described as goddesses, spirits, mythical beings from fairytales and scriptures - we are holy and dangerous. We are everything man desires and everything he fears, his source of life and his terror at the thought of death, of loss. All these contradictions stir many questions and emotions, but we learn to find the balance in life. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • But He Died Collage and acrylic on panel Size of Piece: 24 x 24 x 1.5 Inspired by the beautiful rolling foothills in Umbria, Italy, this piece captures the energy and heat of summer in this area. My work comes in bursts of spontaneity—bold, colorful, and full of energy—yet created in a state of complete calm. I'm delighted when the unexpected emerges. Those surprises excite me and guide the pieces to their final forms. I’m inspired by both the wild freedom of the abstract expressionists and the sharp clarity of the precisionists, always searching for a balance between the two. Every piece is an adventure, a conversation between instinct and intention, a process that is intuitive, driven by curiosity, and open to the unexpected. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Alas . . . I Knew Him, Horatio Acrylic on Fabric Size of Piece: 13 x 12 x 4 I choose articles of clothing for my images in an intuitive manner. For this work, I dissected a man's dress shirt, then reassembled and stitched the pieces into a composition that felt aesthetically pleasing. I discovered that it reminded me of the scene where Hamlet contemplates the skull of Yorick. In this case the relic is an everyday article of clothing that may be resurrected in the future. • Wolf Moon Soda fired stoneware Size of Piece: 18 x 18 x 16 I believe an artist must be deeply connected to the physical, metaphysical and spiritual world. Phenology of nature: Wolf Moon is one of a series of ceramic sculptures derived from direct observation of the night skies during different seasons. The Wolf Moon is a winter moon named by the Ojibwe. The concept of this moon is my direct observation contrasted with historical beliefs and the myths describing the phases of the moon. The ethereal beauty and emotive connection to nature is my inspiration. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Under Pressure Wood-fired stoneware, mink, cedar, iron Size of Piece: 22 x 20 x 8 Human Interference with Earth is the concept of this work. I grew up on the Iron Range in northern Minnesota where open pit, strip mining affected everyone's lives- positively and negatively. Today the scars of the iron ore mines still and forever will mark the earth. Today, I question mining methods and the impact on the earth's natural resources. In some instances, mining aids economic growth, but at what cost? Fresh water, air, wildlife and human habitat are under pressure. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Spirit Vessel with Gold Markings Shellac and gold flake on hardened cartapesta Size of Piece: 52 x 15 The sculpture explores the imprint of time, history, and mind on the interaction of materials, as experienced in myth, spirit, and the body. For this piece I created an armature of a young woman and wrapped her like an ancient Egyptian deity in layers of paper soaked in hardening agents. When she dried, I pulled her spirit’s shell away from the armature, creating a hollow vessel that viewers can look into to see where her spirit had once lived. Inside there remains a sense of beautiful nothingness that has joined the larger mind that flows through time, consciousness , relationships, challenges and opportunities. The outer Vessel shell represents the memory of love having passed through it, and I adorned it with golden circles and a triangle, symbols of perfection, strength and wealth. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Span Steel on Wood Base Size of Piece: 26 x 38 x 6 "Span" is part of my Urban Series, growing up in downtown Chicago instilled in me a love for construction. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sudden Breeze Bronze Size of Piece: 21 x 7 x 9 As I walked to my studio, inspiration struck me. A sudden gust of wind swept through me, enveloping me in its embrace. I closed my eyes, tilted my head back, and allowed the wind to fill me up. It touched every part of me. Once I reached my studio, I began working to capture that moment and feeling in my sculpture. When I look at this piece, I can still feel that sense of being taken over by nature and embracing it fully. The sculpture is about letting go and embracing the unexpected moments in life that come our way. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Joie De Vivre Bronze Size of Piece: 30.5 x 8.75 x 15 The feeling of ultimate freedom and the spirit of joy I wanted to captured in this work. • Wish (The Escape) Alabaster Size of Piece: 30 x 15 x 6 This life size torso is a self portrait, created during a tumultuous time in my life. The cloth on the side rises up and the weave turns into forms that become birds, taking flight across the neck. The birds represent my yearning for freedom from a frightening, stifling relationship. I had to hide this stone as I was working on it, to prevent losing it. The day came when I was free, like the birds made from my own hands. This piece gives me a feeling of hope and joy because of the time shared together. It is uncanny how Wish holds natural light, glowing wherever it's placed. I now show it illuminated, to bring forth the true feeling of the piece. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Lovers Afloat Alabaster Size of Piece: 15 x 21 x 11 This work is the tangible result of expressing the otherworldly experience of being in love. The man and woman embrace, floating above a sea swept boat, emphasizing their fantastical experience. • Nautical III Oil & sculptural elements on canvas wrapped board Size of Piece: 40 x 50.5 These sculptural paintings are my own original style. I work with the paint and the construction at the same time, merging the two. Although this art could be listed as wall hung sculpture (relief) or as painting alone, neither description would be accurate. They are a combination of both disciplines which interact so completely that neither would be complete without the other. Unlike "assemblage" or "found object" sculpture these works are not 3D collages with elements highlighted by color. Instead through the use of many tints and tones of gray, the relief elements are subtly integrted with the painting. one flowing into the other. The colors themselves are controlled, yet full of variety, and held to a low intensity so as not to compete with the three dimensional elements Wood and string are used here to create a nautical atmosphere. • Conversation Glazed Stoneware with overglaze Size of Piece: 14 x 12 Gesture is everything in figurative sculpture. The smallest details are important. The curve of a hip, the position of one finger can alter meaning. • #1670 The Lotus Queen Lily Porcelain Size of Piece: 20 x 18 x 11 Garden flowers have been a running theme of my hand-formed porcelain sculptures for many years. I work toward realism or the abstract, depending on the flower. My inspiration comes on the walks I take in this seaside town with lush gardens. Porcelain allows me to bring my work petal- thin, and that encourages my hand to create energy in my pieces. • Chacun sa route, chacun son chemin. / Each their own road, each their own path. Steel & Aluminum Size of Piece: 26 x 13 x 1.5 This wall sculpture explores the different paths we take through life's journey. Using metal elements, I've created a visual dialogue between two contrasting approaches: a zigzagging line representing the winding, exploratory route and a direct line with a parallel ladder symbolizing straightforward progression. Two movable characters inhabit this symbolic landscape. One figure, creative in appearance yet structurally aligned, can only navigate the zigzag path. The other, hanging playfully by one arm in an adventurous pose, is restricted to the straight line and ladder. Though these characters travel differently—one meandering through creative exploration, the other taking direct risks—they ultimately move between the same points. This represents life's paradox: there is no single correct way to journey from beginning to end. Some of us zigzag through experiences, while others climb directly toward goals, yet we all progress through life in our authentic way. The title is borrowed from a well-known French reggae song by Tonton David. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • I Never Told Anyone Encaustic and Graphite on Carved Basswood Size of Piece: 65 x 60 x 60 My work has always been figurative and focuses on the negative impact of contemporary culture on women and girls' self-image and identity. I Never Told Anyone: is based on research and interviews with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. I carved these figures in wood from sketches I made from direct observation and from my imagination. Each piece refers directly to one individual narrative reiterating when the abuse started, I stenciled that age at the base of each piece, and distilled the titles down to that one word my subject kept repeating, I was so humiliated, I was so frightened, I am so ashamed, guilt, insult, injury, denial. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Sinuous Dance Belgium black marble on walnut base Size of Piece: 18 x 6 x 5 Two rectangular pieces of Belgian black marble inspired me to explore the interplay of complementary forms. Though the shapes lean toward abstraction, together they engage in a dynamic dialogue—one that unfolds through the subtle variations of their placement. Their interaction evokes a choreographed dance, where balance, tension, and movement create a continuous exchange of energy. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Akan Warrior I Inks, clay, wood, textile, yarns, found objects Size of Piece: 46 x 12 x 8 Akan Warrior is a sculptural embodiment of resilience, strength, and ancestral memory. Created with inks, clay, wood, textiles, yarns, and found objects, this piece emerges from a deep engagement with the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade. Inspired by a visit to Cape Coast and Elmina Castles in Ghana, the work reflects the imprints of history—faces and figures abstracted in the dungeon walls, silent witnesses to untold suffering. This warrior figure stands as a guardian of remembrance, honoring those who endured displacement and oppression. The use of layered materials mirrors the complexity of identity, history, and survival. Textiles and yarns reference cultural traditions and continuity, while clay and wood evoke the raw elements of the land—earth and trees that bore witness to history. Through Akan Warrior, the past finds a voice, urging reflection on historical injustices and their ongoing impact on contemporary experiences. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Hear-Say Burnished clay slip, 18K gold leaf on terra cotta Size of Piece: 18.5 x 8 x 7 My senses have been bombarded by the variety of information sources now available. • Anastasia. The Firebird Oil on Canvas Size of Piece: 30 x 24 Dinner with my nonagenarian friends inspired this piece and is why i called it "Social Hour" I decided to render them through colors and shapes so the focus would be on the connection between them and on the mood of the moment rather than on their features. What I see, hear, feel and experience makes its way into my art. Growing up in multiple cultures influences my work, and my love of fairy tales, fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi seeps through as well. I paint mostly in acrylics and gouache and love to experiment with a variety of techniques and materials. At times my work is autobiographical as I aim to tell a story, convey a feeling, or share memories. In Social Hour my focus was on friendship and aging. Through the use of vibrant colors, a sense of movement, and unexpected imagery, I hope the viewer is drawn into my work in a way that provides space for their own interpretation. • Two Critical Questions Acrylic Size of Piece: 42 x 51 x 1.5 Hayoon Jay Lee is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the tension between indulgence and abnegation as it exists in terms of mind and body as well as on a socio-political level. Her work locates points of contact between Korean material tradition and Western avant-garde vocabulary by using rice shape and rice as an object, motif, commodity, and metaphor. As a building block of civilizations and a marker of wealth differences, rice allows Lee to conceptually play with points of conflict conceptually — oscillating between attraction and repulsion, between Orient and Occident— with the aim of ultimately encouraging reflection on the different ways our conditions and fates are interlinked. Renowned for integrating rice-inspired motifs and organic, visceral shapes in her paintings, sculptures, installations, performances, and videos, Lee’s work features figures embedded within rice forms. This highlights the deep connection between food and life. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Outside Inside Acrylic on Canvas Board Size of Piece: 24 x 30 I feel that every human being is like a portal. We first encounter the external frame, but an entire universe unfolds as we step through the doors. Our inner world shapes our outer reality, just as the outer world, in turn, influences our inner state. A lingering sense of loneliness etches itself into our expressions, while a habit of noticing beauty and goodness softens our features, bringing light to our presence. Perhaps the most powerful anti-aging secret is a genuine smile—one born from childlike trust in life, the belief that everything is unfolding as it should, and the certainty that our adventures are limitless. There is an ever-present, knowing part of us—an angelic essence—watching over, guiding, and smiling at our journey through our many mystical paths. This painting emerged as an unfolding, evolving process that presented infinite possibilities until I realized it was not about choosing a single direction. Instead, I was capturing a state of being, a process of disc. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Dance of the Lily Pads Color Pencil on Drafting Film Size of Piece: 23 x 30 Realism is the style that I have embraced for my work. Perhaps the truth is that it embraced me, flowing naturally from my hand, with inspiration coming from the world around me. Colored pencil is the medium I have chosen for most of my work. What started as a lifestyle choice (pencils are clean and easily transportable from primary residence to lake house) became an artistic choice. I’m a control freak - free and loose is NOT my style - so colored pencils are the perfect medium for me. Their layering and blending capabilities, the transparency of some colors, and vibrant pigments help me convey the interplay of color and light in my subject matter. At times, I use colors that are more brilliant or saturated than what I see in nature. It pleases me, and I hope it pleases the viewer. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Transformation Mixed Media Size of Piece: 10 x 10 Framed Size: 11.5 x 11.5 My work explores the intersection of abstract and figurative art, inviting viewers into a realm where emotions, memories, and human experiences converge. Abstract paintings form a core part of my practice. Through bold brushstrokes, gestural marks, and layered colors, I aim to capture the essence of emotions and translate the intangible onto canvas. These works encourage individual interpretation, allowing personal experiences to shape the meaning derived from each piece. Complementing my abstract explorations are figurative paintings. Here, I delve into the human form, capturing nuances of body language, gestures, and facial expressions. Depicting individuals in various emotional states, I strive to evoke empathy and spark contemplation about the complexities of human existence. The interplay of light, shadow, and color infuses the figures with depth and presence, fostering an intimate connection with the viewer. My exploration of the human form extends into figurative sculptures and installations. Working with tactile materials like clay, metal, and mixed media, I create three-dimensional representations that inhabit physical space. These works offer a more immersive experience, inviting viewers to explore the interplay between the artwork and its environment and to connect with the art and its narratives on a deeper level. Across all mediums, I strive to create a dialogue between viewer and artwork. I invite introspection and self-reflection, exploring the beauty and complexity of the human experience, and connecting with universal emotions. Ultimately, my art aims to inspire contemplation, evoke a range of emotions, and encourage a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. • Those Were The Days Acrylic on Canvas Size of Piece: 20 x 20 As a visual artist and a dancer, I find many connections between abstract painting and improvisational dance. Just as I let the music move me from within, I allow my artistic intuition to bring my brush to life. I make art because I don’t know how to live without creating. The foundation of my art is connections. I aim to communicate the essence of a relationship or place with my visual language. In my art, ideas and expressions are more important than the materials. My goal is to transport the viewer to a place, person or moment in their life. I create abstract paintings with harmonious and brave colors. Using acrylic, mixed media, and collage material, I love exploring with unusual tools for surprising and delightful effects. My paintings go through three stages. I start by playing with colors and marks, following my intuition, allowing my technical knowledge only here and there. Then comes the 'ugly stage.' Nothing seems to be working, the colors and shapes struggle to be saved. It’s tempting to discard the work right here, but I always push through knowing the beauty I can create. This connection to my work brings me to the home stretch. I will never sign a piece until I’m completely connected with it. Once I am, you will be too. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Archiped Sculpture: Stainless steel, copper Size of Piece: 7 x 3 x 11.5 Wendy Kaplan Friend is an innovative New York metal, stone and glass sculptor for more than 40 years.  Her creations have been exhibited in private collections in the US and internationally.  She is a life member at the Art Students League where she has studied for 13 years. In Wendy’s current body of work she fabricates her interpretation of metal shoes, hats and backpacks. Her welding process uses different heat treatments to produce metal reactions and visual effects. Wendy’s works include vibrant colored coatings, textures and different stainless steel patterns. Each metal element is hand-forged and welded together, creating soft textures out of an inherently rigid material. Wendy has explored mixed media sculpture through the incorporation of fused glass inserts into her metal shoe designs. Ms. Kaplan Friend merges the three dimensional glass with the forged metal. Ms. Kaplan Friend has taught graphic design and has worked as a consultant in fine arts museums in New York and Los Angeles. Ms. Kaplan Friend holds an MA in Museum Education from the Bank Street College of Education in New York and a certification in Multi Media Design from UCLA. • Blossoming Acrylic and Gouache on wood (set of 3) Size of Piece: 9 x 13 I'm Tasha Branham, a New Jersey-based artist, practicing contemporary multidisciplinary art influenced by Henri Matisse. My work involves various mediums—epoxy resin, natural wood, acrylics, glass, mixed media, oil pastels, and digital art, creating a unique fusion. Exploring storytelling, faith, and hope, I aim to encourage joy and healing by reconnecting with one's inner child. My art conveys vulnerability, wonder, and the essence of faith as a Black woman. Rooted in the belief in God's grace, I draw parallels between the resilience, delicacy, strength, and beauty of Black women and elegant flowers. My art strives to inspire joy, reconnect viewers with their imagination, and help them rediscover wonder within. Influenced by artistic inspiration and my journey of inner healing, my work has been featured in the Terminal A exhibit, "Journey of Surprises," and my work is currently on display at the new Marcus Samuelsson LIVE! Bar and Grille at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, NJ. Deeply connected to my life experiences, my art shares unspeakable joy and rekindled imagination, inviting others to embark on a similar journey of inspiration and self-discovery. • I Dreamt I Was a Bird but I Could Not Fly_#3 Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas Size of Piece: 36 x 12 There are times I struggle with depression. It's often a result of chronic physical pain from arthritis and from migraines...as well as from the maddening sounds of my tinnitus. Therefore, I turn to my Art as my primary emotional therapy. In my third painting, from my series "I Dreamt I Was A Bird But I Could Not Fly", I created a visual metaphor of my physical pain. Once I felt boundless, soaring like a fearless hawk; only to eventually have my wings clipped... entwining & binding me to the ground. In "Escape into My Garden" I use the tactile elements of molded paper, words & flowers from my own garden, to represent the therapeutic physicality in processing my feelings in my personal Art Therapy. Meanwhile, the visual of a person climbing inside this magnificent flower best expresses the Emotional Escapism & happiness that's often derived from 'Garden Therapy'. "Escape into my World" incorporates a myriad of elements which have brought joy to my life: My art as my visual Storytelling of our world & our human condition. As a woman who loves looking at the stars, wondering how we fit within our vast universe, while spending time in, on or around water, appreciating how precious our Earth’s water really is. And I am also a musician who has found that playing flute has gifted me friendships (over many decades) with like-minded creative musical souls...most of whom also share a love for creating art. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Butterfly Dance Oil on Linen Size of Piece: 36 x 36 My art practice in oil and plein air painting is a fusion of scientific precision and artistic expression, capturing the intricate details of human and animal anatomies alongside the dynamic interplay of light and shadow. My works, such as the graceful dance of an full figured nude woman with a Swallowtail butterfly and the solitary figure of a man walking away from a woman who loves him, into a lush, curvilinear, New York State landscape, reflect a deep engagement with nature's beauty juxtaposed against the looming threat of environmental catastrophe. I am an interdisciplinary artist of Abenaki descent, weaving indigenous iconography and ancient narratives into contemporary commentary. My paintings explore the liminal spaces between abstraction and representation, the male and the female, spectacle and solitude, where I challenge these dichotomies to reveal a more nuanced reality. In my work, impending doom casts a shadow over scenes of beauty, chaos, and apocalypse, inviting a dialogue on the fragility of our environment. Through this lens, I employ oil painting not just for its traditional beauty but for its capacity to convey the urgency of ecological issues. My art is a synthesis of science and spirituality, where each brushstroke is an act of both celebration and warning. • We Never Surrender Acrylic, collage, thread on panel Size of Piece: 24 x 24 Framed Size: 25 x 25 These portraits are the strong women in my life who walked before and beside me for a lifetime. I was inspired by a host of old photographs on in crumbling black photo albums that have survived 100 years. Once Upon an Art is the big sister I never had, my cousin, the reason I am an artist (too). In collage, I’ve highlighted only snips of her incredible command of language as poetry. With minimal words and intense curiosity about the world around her, she crafts short stories that belie typical speech, giving us glimpses of her genius. She divines an emotional story of our aging grandmother perhaps saying: “I forget how to use the words. I watch conversations and great-grandchildren grow in my very hands. I hide things and forget them, and therefore it gets easier. I fall asleep during the news, and so it gets easier.” We Never Surrender and But He Died both honor the legacy of our grandma. Widowed less than six months after the birth of her 5th child, she survived two World Wars, rations, The Great Depression, 50 years day after day in a sweatshop sewing men's shoes so her children could eat. Her story lives on in how I meet life, productive, stalwart, I can do it - and that has passed to my daughters, and her grandchildren and now mine. We have her story now, and traditions, making our daily bread and getting it all done to meet another day. • Hey Will You Look At Her Now! Collage Size of Piece: 30 x 22 Framed Size: 33 x 25 Working in collage allows for free association. I use vintage periodical and book images to create discrete worlds merging image, color, and placement. I play with concepts and redefine reality, combining their elements intuitively sometimes with an idea of what I want to achieve and sometimes just letting the elements drive the image, one thing leading to another. There is always something of a surrealist element to collage, letting logic and reality go. In these two images, I tweak the idea of the "proper" woman to let the viewer know she may not be quite who you want her to be. • Pure Joy Digital iPad Drawing Fabricated on Archival Paper Size of Piece: 22 x 18 Framed Size: 30 x 25 A human or animal gesture motivates me to tell a story. Whether it's source is a photograph in the paper, a magazine or one of my own. The image triggers my imagination. My use of color supports the narrative. This process is followed in my oil paintings and digital work. It is a long process. The narrative may change as I draw or paint. Sometimes it becomes a series of similar images with different stories from which I choose the final work. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Day Trippers Pastel on Archival Paper Size of Piece: 17 x 20 Framed Size: 22 x 25 Painting has been second nature to me for so long that I often think of it as my primary language. • Explorer Oil on Canvas Size of Piece: 24 x 12 Framed Size: 26 x 14 I am both a professional musician and artist. I experience life as having order as well as disorder through sound and sight. I create art along with music. The execution of the painting therefore becomes a personal performance, as were my song recitals when I was singing professionally, the one difference being: I am not interpreting someone else's poetry - I am creating my own in color and shape. Just as in music, patterns are important in art. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Lonely Lover Charcoal on Birch Panel Size of Piece: 30 x 20 As an artist, I have found a way to channel my trauma and transform it into something beautiful. Through painting, I have discovered a voice that speaks louder than the pain that once silenced me. My art is not just a depiction of my trauma, it is a manifestation of the strength and resilience I have developed through my journey. In my work, I often use symbolism and surrealism to express the complexities of my experiences. The female form is a recurring motif, representing both vulnerability and power. Through undulating gestures, I aim to convey a sense of movement and fluidity, capturing the ebb and flow of emotions that come with trauma. My art is not just a form of self-expression, it is a means of healing. Painting allows me to confront my past and process my emotions in a way that words cannot. It is through my art that I have found a way to release the pain that once consumed me and transform it into something meaningful. Through my journey as an artist, I have learned that strength is not just about overcoming adversity, but about finding the beauty in the struggle. My art is a reflection of this journey - a testament to the power of creativity and the human spirit. • A Fragmented Life Sculpture: Glazed and Fire Stoneware Size of Piece: 8 x 7 x 8 A Fragmented Life evolved from a workshop dealing with the idea of house. A house protects and a house can conceal. The figure is broken but not falling apart. She is trying to gain sustenance from the broken elements below her. The various pieces are glazed, fired stoneware. The McCarthy plaque shows my great grandparents, Dennis and Mary McCarthy, after they emigrated from Ireland to upstate New York, leaving behind the Great Famine. They were married in 1874, and had 7 children including my grandmother Julia Guinane. The relief was modeled in clay and a plaster was made from that and colored with a bronze paint. • Alleviation of Sorrow Oil on Canvas Size of Piece: 30 x 24 Framed Size: 34 x 28 Since my childhood I began to look for the harmony contained in art. Through the magic lantern of art, I try to express myself and the events of my life. The entire life may not be enough to search for harmony. But the meaning is in the journey itself, in the very attempt to find this harmony and reflect it on canvas. Art is a way to live life by devoting it to the beauty of the world - this is my inspiration and this is a core of my creative process. • COVID Selfie Soft Pastel on Paper Size of Piece: 18.5 x 12.5 Framed Size: 23.25 x 17.5 In all of my entries, a moment in time is 'archived'...Although watercolor is my primary-medium, I work proficiently in soft- pastel as well, for the two-selfies, which are very direct and bold in technique. The same bold-brushwork and directness in mark-making is in the watercolor, which is interpreted from one of my 1998 photographs of my immigrant-Italian grandmother in her late 70's, (very bold in the markings in her hair) and my adopted Thai daughter, then, age four. • Guardian III Sculpture Size of Piece: 11 x 8 x 5 Inspiration surrounds us, and I am no exception. Nature is the most powerful force behind my work for many reasons. The materials I use are natural elements harvested from my daily life—transformed and given a second life through recycling, honoring the Earth in the process. Women are another deep source of inspiration. I am continually moved by my sisters—their strength, resilience, and the gifts they bring to the world. We have fought countless battles to claim our space, and we continue to fight as we challenge the patriarchy and defend our rights. • Love that For Me Fiber Art: Punch Needle Embroidery on Weavers Cloth Size of Piece: 30 x 24 Framed Size: 31 x 25 Rejecting the insinuations often thrust upon the female form, Delaney’s works present highly rigid and resolutely geometric portraits of women, without a stroke of curvature. Their depiction of fractured facial profiles calls out the notion of discomfort from unwanted attention and mis-placed celebration of beauty that women receive simply by just being out in the world. The Artist presents a reaction-driven portrayal of those exchanges, and simultaneously shows strength embodied in female agency. These works re-examine our perceptions on “social appropriateness”. The Artist's mission is to abstract identifiable features and remove individual characteristics to varying degrees, creating broadly familiar subjects that reflect femininity as part of the Whole rather than the Individual. The textures and micro-patterns in the thread-work accent the idea that there is no definable limit from where the fabric that we wear ends and our more personal and emotional inner weavings begin. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Sometimes she’ll catch amusing and unexpected moments of life that suggest possibilities the viewer can interpret from his or her own perspective. • Feline Feminist Mixed Media Collage and Acrylic on Sintra panel Size of Piece: 24 x 18 Creating artwork can be a powerful and universal vehicle for human connection. For me, the challenge is to touch the timeless themes iterated in visual art, literature, drama and music throughout recorded history, while staying relevant and responsive to one’s own cultural place in the timeline. Since childhood to the present day, I have been a painter and visual artist. My images are primarily painted directly from life, with the subject typically casting a gaze back at the viewer. My paintings respond to themes “humanity”- my fellow women, forced migration, social justice, civil rights, natural and man-made calamities, as well as the respite of nature’s continuum. My process comes from my desire to bypass self-conscious inhibitions in the pursuit of self-expression. In 1990, I felt artistically "reborn" when I started painting with my non-dominant left hand and discovered renewed creative freedom. This, as well as using oversized brushes, gives me speed and fluidity, resulting in either as a fully representational finished painting, or the base on which to build a mixed media collage. Utilizing physical collage materials such as torn maps, shards of color, images from printed media, and my own repurposed drawing fragments as my palette, the works become emblematic statements of the over-stimulation and media bombardment of contemporary society, in concert with the directly observed presentation of a human subject. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • The Delight Project: No. 5 Oil on Canvas Size of Piece: 20 x 16 My name is Anne Pollard James and I paint the spectacular strength of women. My current project, 'The Delight Project' examines many of the notions of the concept of how we 'brave the body’.  As women, we are always asked to cover up and camouflage our natural bodies. In fact, based on what we see on a screen, you would never know that skin has scars, pores and complex texture. That the body is as pragmatic as it is mysterious. The very things that make us strong and capable are the things that our cameras filter out. Like, the muscles and the fascia that mold fat into cellulite and keep our legs strong to carry us on our way. And how our faces line and fall with gravity and then peak to glorious smiles that light up everything. And how our bellies rise and fall, and are streaked with the pale-blue-peach hued marks that stretch to hold us. For this project, I offered an open invitation to participate in this series. And then, I simply met women where they are and captured small moments of joy and delight of self, to include in a series of painted images based on a photo that we worked together to create. Here are their stories. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Please don't hurt! Oil on Canvas Size of Piece: 24 x 30 Framed Piece: 26 x 32 In this painting, I explore the profound vulnerability and strength of a mother shielding her child amidst the chaos of the war in Ukraine. The image of a civilian woman holding her daughter, pleading with the aggressor, is a universal story of love, fear, and resilience. My inspiration comes from stories of those caught in war zones—the civilians who do not choose violence but must endure its consequences. The mother in this painting represents countless women who, despite their terror, stand firm in their instinct to protect. In my creative process, I use heavy, dark colors in the background to symbolize destruction and turmoil. At the same time, the softer, more delicate details of the mother and child convey their fragility. The palette contrast represents the merging of fear, hope, and desperation. This piece depicts suffering and reflects humanity itself. It asks the viewer to step into this moment and question the forces that create such tragedies. Because behind every war, there are human lives. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Manifest Aluminum Print Size of Piece: 20 x 16 x 25 I like photographing translucent collages on a light box and enhancing the images to come up with new ways of seeing things. I started this practice when checking in with a therapeutic light box for my seasonal affective disorder. I started exploring ways of arranging shapes and colors with layers. The light holds in the finished work and the colors are jewel-toned. 'Energy in Motion' is about finding our power. Orange is a strong color and rules the naval center. Find your energy and move it. Manifest what you desire. Aluminum prints work well with this work. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Poppies Recycled Brown Bags & Acrylic Collage on Canvas Size of Piece: 24 x 36 x 2 My work is a reminder of the peaceful, centered energy of the miraculous, natural living world which surrounds us. My collages are made from torn, recycled brown shopping bags that I first paint with acrylics and then rip them and adhere the pieces to canvas. I am interested in the concept that the bags started out as trees and then were made into paper which was torn and collaged into an image of the natural world, which in itself provided the required inspiration and energy. I hope that the viewer thinks that they are looking at beautiful and serene paintings at first glance, then discover that they are viewing a collage that involved a painstaking genesis in the studio. Each is the product of many months or years of work.In addition, the pieces are often autobiographical. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Red Sky In Morning I Digital Size of Piece: 8 x 8 x 1 Red Sky in Morning I was actually inspired by color. I really wanted to create a painting using bright red. The composition emerged from there. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Open to Interpretation Digital Size of Piece: 8 x 8 x 1 For me the process of composing these composite images is one that I choose not to examine too closely. Suddenly a fragment of something in one of my photographs or from the internet will resonate in a particular way forming a kernel of.......... Then other objects will begin to congregate, to be attracted to, will deepen the meaning of, the mystery of, the depth of......... Finally a composition will emerge. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Seeing the World in Color Acrylic Size of Piece: 20 x 16 SEEING THE WORLD IN COLOR In this vibrant self-portrait, I weave a tapestry of color and joy, capturing my reflection in dancing rainbow hues. My brushstrokes burst with optimism, embodying my cheerful spirit. My gaze reveals a soul that sees beauty in extraordinary and everyday moments. This painting invites you into my world, where art transforms the ordinary into joy, and each day is awash in hope for the future. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mexican Dancer Digital Photograph Size of Piece: 17.25 x 12.5 x 1 I love photographing people on the street. "Mexican Dancer", one of my earliest works was taken in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and it was during a show that took place on the beach. The beautiful colors of the dancer's dress, as well as the elegant motion, inspired me to take this portrait. I waited for the moment she paused after the dance was over. This piece did take a bit of post processing, to darken the background, which was very busy. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Time for Pleasant Memories Acrylic with skins and collage Size of Piece: 11 x 14 Color has always been a major force in my creative process, and it is always an intuitive emotional choice. It is not unusual for me to look back after a days work and know myself better. These paintings were done during a period of calm after some difficult times. The clock painting, "Time for Pleasant Memories" began with pulling apart a maze of small time pieces which no longer worked.. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Enchanted Colors #1 Acrylic on Canvas Size of Piece: 20 x 20 "Enchanted Colors," and “Dialogue With Colors-Across The Sphere” emerged from my fascination with the interplay of vibrant hues and organic forms. The inspiration came from moments of reflection on nature's subtle beauty and the emotional resonance colors evoke. My creative process involves layering paint, allowing the colors to blend, interact, and reveal unexpected patterns and textures. I let intuition guide the flow of each brushstroke, embracing spontaneity while balancing structure and abstraction. In this work, I sought to capture a sense of movement and wonder—a visual echo of fleeting memories and emotions. The vibrant pinks, blues, and greens reflect an internal dialogue of joy, introspection, and curiosity. Through this piece, I aim to invite viewers into a world of dynamic Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Into the Blue Nightscape Mixed Pastel/ Acrylics, Pencil Size of Piece: 9.75 x 6.5 I set a challenge for myself –my foray into COLOR language. Explore its symbolic memory-stories told with color/texture/value. Paint–THEN read the story. A HAZY landscape- going in or leaving all behind? Dawn or dusk? A middle vertical space parting- a door to a Soft Blue life beyond? Anchored by a bold horizontal Yellow (a barrier to overcome?) A Blue and Yellow contradiction ! Below- Airy Blue-Green path detouring to the right. Above- hovering Blue/Magenta- weighting on our will to move forward? The Thrill of Blue-Blue Shadows-Sacred Blue- Blue Gods Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Seashore Reverie Digital Photograph Size of Piece: 11 x 14 For this photograph I used Olympus camera. The Image left a deep impression of intensity of color value, lights and darks as a focal point reflected from the water's surface. I saw reds, blues and yellow color as primary and large areas are in orange and green as secondary colors.. There is some Value contrast of whites creating a sense of volumetric depth. I apply some gradation values which provide contours to detail forms of water surface with some increase of color intensity in order to bring the image to life. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Provence Acrylic on Canvas Size of Piece: 24 x 36 I have always been enamored of Turner's palette, and thought I would try an interpretation of my own. The Provence region of France is one of my favorite places to visit, especially when the lavender is in bloom. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Tic Tac Tow Acrylic, ink on mini canvases & frame under glass Size of Piece: 8 x 8 Size of Piece Framed: 9 x 9 I tell stories with explosive color! The Games Series comprised of 12 small works under glass is a a nostalgic tale which began with Checquers and Tic Tac Tow. Bowling a ling, Scrabble Soup, Sushi Pool and many, followed. Painting doodling and combining various materials on tiny canvases and other surfaces produced infinite creative possibilities. Incorporating the technique of the women of Ularu, Australia, the Pointalists, Fauvists and 20th century Pop, I recreated many of these iconic games as dimensional, intricate, and colorful, stories. Join me and the Games in a trip down memory lane. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Rising Up Acrylic on Cradled Wood Size of Piece: 12 x 8 Size of Piece Framed: 13 x 9 I am trying out some new mediums in these small works, using cradled wood and thicker paints as well as portraying the more muted colors of winter. In “Dancing in the Northern Lights” I am using painted clay shapes to contrast the stiffness in the dancing trees with the fluidity of the northern lights behind them. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Fly Acrylic on panel Size: 12 x 4 “I begin with the horizon, its ever steady line of delineation between the spaces of land, sky, sea. In between are layers and layers of light and color, sprung from my memory but unbound by realism. I use a framework, a few rules around composition or color, but it’s the tension between what I expect and what the painting is telling me that dictates the flow and finish. I work, and wait, until the profound shifting between place and memory stills itself harmoniously.” See more at www.mjbenson.com. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Peachy Beach Day Oil on panel Size of Piece: 12 x 6 Size of Piece Framed: 13.5 x 7.5 I like to paint slice of life vignettes. "Peachy Beach Day" was inspired by a little girl on the beach. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Monument Stelae Mixed Media Size: 13.8 x 10.6 I use Josonja matte flow gouache paints. I like the matte intensity of the colors. All three works are without planning. The pieces are one of a kind experiments with color, cut and painted papers/ canvas on different surfaces. I used cardboard for The Order, Fabriano watercolor paper for the Monument Stelae, and for the Figure Study I started with the orange painted paper glued to cardboard then the figure ( painted on paper) was glued onto that surface. The pieces are not related excepty by color. I love using this gouache paint! Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Moon Rules the Night Watercolor Size: 6 x 4 Framed Size: 10 x 8 My work centers on spaces from my imagination that reflect reality but don’t represent it, much like a dream. While the scale of my watercolors, and therefore interaction with them, is small and personal, my approach to painting both small and large works is similar. Surface tension, brushstroke, and layers of color are equally important no matter the size of the work. I want you to participate when you look at my art - enter the image and place yourself in the space. While my early paintings were primarily figurative, for the most part figures have disappeared from my work. However, a sense of the figure’s presence remains - you are that presence. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Finding My Way Acrylic Size: 10 x 8 Framed Size: 14 x 11 One of a series of works inspired by maps. In this series, I explore how we read images and interpret them as a map of a place on land or sea, or even a celestial map. The works in this series all begin with a blurry, monotone, monoprint background. The "map" is then created upon that surface, with acrylic paint applied with brushes, pens and unconventional materials such as bits of torn cardboard or crumpled foil. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Broken Ice Shelf Acrylic Size: 12 x 12 Erin’s painting series is a profound dialogue between our planet’s crisis and her creative expression. “I look at the elements of the earth, the balance of nature, and a bird’s eye view of the stunning contrast of land that we don’t always see. While our planet is vast and different it is all one in how we can preserve it for future generations. I am creating a story of our planet but most importantly a message about climate change and what is infinite or finite. We need to preserve our natural environment for a more sustainable future. “ Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Silence Photography Size: 11 x 9 I love winter and the opportunity it provides to connect with the natural environment. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Walled Up: Common Place Series Pastel Size: 10 x 10 I am a painter of contemporary landscapes that often blur the distinctions between realism and abstraction. The driving force behind my work is my interest in finding and amplifying the beauty and mystery that exists quietly all around us, both obvious and hidden. I am always seeking ways that the humblest scenes reveal profound insights and offer wordless understanding. Known for working in pastels for nearly 30 years, my imagery often uses a close focus on water, rocks, and foliage. The inclusion of reflections and shadows, often without a horizon for reference, allows a range of interpretations and encourages the viewer to move beyond the literal with me. While my imagery remains grounded in the natural world, I alter or emphasize at will. Even when including human constructions I focus on the abstract and curious elements. I love creating passages of paint where one can move without concern for naming. Free association and personal response are encouraged. I hope my take on a scene can clarify or illuminate nascent insights for others as well as for me. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Frolic 2 Mixed Media Size: 6 x 6 Framed Size: 12 x 12 This group of woven mixed media works employs photography as a base to evoke the passage of time and obfuscation of memories through the use of weaving techniques. In order to do this, I must first deconstruct the photograph by cutting it into thin strips to create a new work. Weaving creates patterns on the surface and below the surface. I use pattern to evoke memory and I want the viewer to connect with their own personal histories and intuition. The subjects that I work with come from a personal collection of photographs of family, anonymous subjects and images of famous artists and writers. All are chosen based on either my connection with the subject on a personal level or from having an emotional response to the photograph. Often the vintage-looking subjects and the intricacy of weaving create a very tactile effect that both abstracts and restores attributes of the original image while referencing the idea of “women’s work," a subject that is close to home. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sweeping the Church Steps Digital Photograph Size: 15 x 10 I enjoy photographing people on the street. Most of my current work is in the NYC area. I look for good locations and wait to find interesting people. What inspires me is how unpredictable people are and how spontaneous the process is. I look for places with interesting forms, color, light, and street geometry. Interactions between people can make for a strong photograph. Also, I never know how people will react to being photographed by me. I've had various reactions from people who pose and wave, to people who cover their faces. What has kept me going over the years was the excitement of being on the street and finding unpredictable encounters. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Stella Kissing the Snow Sculpture Size: 15 x 9 x 9 My granddaughter! Stella was outside for the first snow fall this winter. A photo was sent to me. Loving the image of her sweetness I enjoyed creating this sculpture. Children appreciate everything, especially the snow how it touches our face. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Petite Treat Sculpture: Acrylic paint on natural gourd Size: 6 x 3 x 3 I am a painter and sculptor. Materials and techniques are selected so I can invent unique images and narratives from my imagination. I employ concepts from abstraction, cubism, and surrealism to interpret the elusive qualities of time, energy, and storytelling. Primary and contrasting colors, moving lines, and overlapping shapes produce dynamic patterns and intricate designs. The natural gourd is prepared like a canvas. Opaque acrylic matte and gouache paint are rendered on the third dimensional surface creating a continuous painting involving the owner in selecting views. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Rushing Falls Photograph: Platinum/ Palladium Size of Piece: 5 x 7 Size of Piece Framed: 11 x 14 In my art work, I capture the simple beauty in everyday life, the commonplace or ordinary scenes in the environment. These images offer us rare moments of solitude, time to slow down and observe the world around us, and to enjoy quiet beauty and serenity, offering viewers quiet moments of reflection. I use water and light as beautiful threads that draw the eye in, providing an opportunity to examine nature and the built environment. The quality of light is of paramount importance, defining the textures and forms in nature, and patterns of light and shadow. A strong sense of design is also important in these images. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Disturbed Photograph printed on Matte Paper Size: 5 x 15 I've learned over the years that the "Big" picture is not always the best picture. My vision has narrowed to allow a new perspective to develop. I now allow the scene to reduce itself to something so compact that it becomes the major component of what I see! Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The First Glow Collage with digital images and watercolor Size: 3 x 2 These works were inspired by the objects I found. "Burnin' Love )" was inspired by a found matchbox in the back of a drawer and I did a series of matchbox assemblages...this being one. My mom loved Elvis and took me to every movie he was in and I thought this would be a fun use of the piece. "The First Glow" was inspired by a pile of letters I found between a couple who wrote to each other and the letters revealed the development of the relationship and this piece is about how they both began to edge more towards love and "the first glow" or blossoming of new love... • Cut and Paste Encaustic Size: 12 x 12 I have used the chair as my motif of choice in most of my work, drawing on its use as a metaphor for the human being and human nature. The artwork "Cut And Paste" was created as I was thinking about how the chair travels; that no matter where we find ourselves, no matter the environment the chair will always be be there, marking our place. "Prototype" is heavily layered, scraped and collaged as I explored the basic shape and ubiquitous quality of the chair throughout the history of mankind. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Within #3 Mixed Media Collage Size: 10 x 8 Framed Size: 14 x 12 I create abstract three-dimensional collage by transforming flat images and shapes into raised architectural forms that add depth, texture and shadows. Using paper in rich tones, I cut, score and fold to build these forms, then combine them with other materials, like photographs, wood, fabric, metal, plastic, and wire mesh. The juxtaposition of these elements -- casting shadows and highlighting contact points – enhances the intention of each piece. I find inspiration from African sculpture; the Constructivism, Geometric Abstraction, and Cubism art movements; the work of Louise Nevelson; the ‘illogical perspective’ of Giorgio de Chirico and M.C. Escher; Joseph Cornell’s shadow boxes; and Frank Stella’s metal reliefs, among many others. My work lands somewhere between the real and the imagined. Each piece features doorways, walkways and passages, leading the viewer to spaces of mystery, questions and the unknown. These pieces serve as visual metaphors for issues that impact me, from environmental concerns and global conflicts to the search for inner peace. As viewers consider this ‘almost-but-not-quite-real’ world, I invite them to ask questions, like: What is it? Where is it? What do I see and feel? And ultimately, do I find myself in it, or not? Through these questions, I aim to foster deeper connections and understanding, encouraging introspection and the recognition of our shared experiences. • Let It Sing! Watercolor on Watercolor hot press paper Size: 10 x 13 The painting Let It Sing! was inspired by a moment I captured during a winter trip to New York, specifically in Central Park's Bethesda Terrace Arcade. The subject of the piece is a young woman busking with her guitar, and her face is filled with an expression of deep passion as she sings. The title, Let It Sing!, is drawn from the song "Let It Sing" in the Broadway musical Violet. In the show, a disfigured girl embarks on a journey of healing through faith and music. She meets a man who encourages her to embrace her voice, telling her, "You've got to give yourself a reason to rejoice / Cause the music you make counts for everything / Now every living soul has got a voice / You've got to give it room / And let it sing." The painting itself reflects that same message—the power of music to heal, express, and make one's voice heard. As I worked on the piece, I was drawn to the vibrant energy of the woman and the striking textures of the environment around her. The weathered stone wall behind her, with its intricate trompe l'oeil panels, echoed the colors of her shirt, creating a harmonious blend of background and subject. This "harmony" and her passionate expression captivated me and sparked my creative process. Let It Sing! captures the unspoken connection between artist and art, voice and music, and the healing power of self-expression. • I'm A Goddess On Night Patrol Watercolor on Paper Size: 11 x 15 My inspiration comes mainly from my own experience, observations and understanding of human beings' existence in this world-- the struggle we go through to survive (get by), thrive and become happy and content. I like to study history and philosophy to learn about human nature. My artwork tends to capture various human feelings and emotions, and our persistent yearning for freedom, justice and truth. Occasionally, I create artworks that seems to show off-on-a-tangent imagination or whimsical humor, but they are also my reflections on our being in this world. I often use strong colors and mixed media, but for small works, I enjoy working with a single medium for each piece. For larger artworks, I frequently feature reflective materials in the mixed media, especially color foil. Color foil tape/paper generates brilliant flowing changing colors as a person moves in the space to view the artworks from different angles, informing the viewer that “change is norm”- we should learn when and how to let go of bad feelings. It also reminds the audience that truth can be multi-faceted: all we can see is just a part of it, so we should fare in this world with humility and tolerance. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Chespeake Bay Oil Size: 11 x 14 Fine artist and humanitarian Laurie Elizabeth McKinley has dedicated her life to observing, documenting, and participating in the human experience. She has traveled the globe her entire life, compelled to observe and photograph the stories of vanishing cultures with compassion and humanity. She translates these increasingly rare images onto canvas, so that she might share them with the world and hopefully inspire change to protect diversity and the environment. Laurie Elizabeth paints in all genres, especially enjoying en plein air in villages throughout the world and capturing that very special “first feeling” -- the mystery of the moment, the chi, the magic. Laurie Elizabeth encourages all to see the imbalances and injustices in the world and be a voice for awareness and change. She wants humanity to see the the disappearing Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Guardian XVI Mixed Media: paper, porcelain & crystal Size: 11 x 9.5 My tiny Earth Guardians are waste-safe vessels designed to keep plastic and other waste out of landfills. What began as a whimsical solution to weigh down my sculptures has evolved into a meaningful purpose: creating vessels to contain non-perishable waste—plastic, glass, metal, and other scraps—that enters my home. This ensures these materials are repurposed rather than discarded. Through my work, I aim to recycle and play a small role in managing waste responsibly. I also collect materials from my community, transforming what others discard into art. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Wild Rabbit #62 Ceramic Sculpture with real 24k gold details Size: 9.5 x 4 x 3 A childhood love of fantasy finds its way into my work. I express the absurdity of life while drawing influence from unexpected sources like the lyrics of music and nursery rhymes. I have a clear vision of a finished piece before I start. With this idea in mind I immediately get started with a combination of wheel thrown pieces, coils and slabs. I alter by pinching, cutting and adding clay until my idea emerges. My pieces are decorated with colored slips and underglazes while still wet and then fired to 1830°. Adding pigmented washes and glazes for my next firing to 2232°. My final firing with 24k gold lustre completes the process. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Bogie is Bogie Acrylic on Canvas Size: 12 x 9 I’m a self-taught artist and have been around art my whole life. My mother painted, and my painter-uncle mentored with Yasuo Kunyoshi. Being from NY, I’ve often haunted the Met, MoMA, and the Whitney for years. I have a BA in theatre & English. An ESL teaching certificate, and Culinary Arts certificate. I’ve worked in theatre, film and television. For more than a dozen years I’ve worked with curators as a writer of museum exhibition audio tours. I started painting about ten years ago, often inspired by classic monuments in Italy where I spend time yearly. I want to create poetic interpretations freeing solid life from static poses. Recently, I’ve been diving in portraiture, in my naive style…colorful representations, loosening up the obvious. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • I Wonder... Pastel Size: 9 x 9 - I’m primarily a portrait artist as I find nothing more visually compelling, more inspiring, than the human face and figure. Much of my work is done through Zoom, which gives me the opportunity to paint people who can be anywhere. My usual chosen medium is soft pastels. - I was excited to paint the renowned actor Alfre Woodard at a Zoom session hosted by an artist who knew her. Starting with a pastel pencil sketch, I then used a yellow pastel pencil to indicate every place the light touched Alfre’s face and hair. Knowing the location of the lightest spots remained important when applying multiple layers of pastel pencil and soft pastel. I loved painting her beautiful hair, using many layers of alternating warm and cool colors. - I Wonder… is a pastel portrait of a model I’ve painted many times – I hoped to capture her intriguing expression as she appeared to be deep in thought. I used a similar process for this as for the Woodard portrait: after the initial sketch and yellow highlights, I applied multiple layers of pastel pencil and soft pastel to build up the image and convey a mood of quietness. - The model for Graceful is a dancer whose quick poses demonstrate her love of dance. These two simple, timed ink and watercolor sketches express my delight in her lovely movement. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Family Group (Variation VIII) Collage Size: 9 x 12 Family Group and Animated Forms are recurring themes in all my 2D and 3D work. My interest is in exploring the boundaries between representation and abstraction. I reduce the subjects to bold, simplified forms and create excitement, tension and often lots of space in the artwork. Form, color and texture became increasingly important in development of the collage, and man-made and natural materials like felt, suede, velvet, paper, sandpaper and copper were incorporated into the pieces. This is an exciting, intuitive and challenging way to work. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Seated Nude White Stoneware Sculpture Size: 7 x 9.5 x 7.25 When I start working with a model, I make a few sketches to see how she poses and how the forms come together and her personal gestures. In this case, I liked the sketch as much as I liked the more finished piece, and I wanted to share that experience. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Pascali Rosę Porcelain Sculpture Size: 10 x 8.25 x 6 I hand-form nature-inspired ceramic sculptures in porcelain. The Pascali Rose, an abstract of the rose of the same name, recalls the delicate turns of this flower's petals. • As Far as the Mind Can See Mixed Media Collage on Canvas Size: 14 x 11 I ofter find myself moved to comment on real issues that threaten our planet today, i.e., wars, plagues, climate change. At times, I express feelings of frustration; at others, I strive to express an optimistic vision that I hope will inspire others. I see myself as a storyteller. I hope to elicit both an intellectual response and one from the heart. I am drawn toward the use of symbolism, particularly hands and eyes. I am a mixed media artist, working mostly with acrylic paints and collage on canvas. This blending of different media enhances the visual mystery that I strive to express. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Timeless Texture Encaustic Size: 10 x 8 This body of work is an exploration of the universal allure and symbolic significance of entry doors from diverse cultures around the world. As a traveler deeply attuned to the visual narratives embedded in architectural details, I have always been captivated by the intricate designs and historical echoes encapsulated within these humble thresholds. Photographing doors from bustling cityscapes to remote villages, I seek to capture not just their physical presence but the stories they silently hold. Each photograph serves as a portal, inviting viewers to contemplate the cultural heritage, craftsmanship, and societal nuances reflected in these everyday yet extraordinary structures. Inspired by these photographic narratives, I translate the essence of each door into encaustic paintings, employing this ancient wax painting technique to imbue my paintings with layers of texture, color, and symbolism. Through the meticulous process of encaustic, I aim to evoke a sense of nostalgia, curiosity, and wonder—inviting viewers to peer beyond the surface and envision the worlds that lie beyond each door. • Inside Story Acrylic on Canvas Size: 11 x 14 My commitment to abstraction lies not in deciphering a clear path through the process but instead in embracing the pleasure of wandering and finding joy in the journey of being lost. I strive for dynamic and unpredictable compositions with elements that collide, balance, dangle, and hint at unexpected outcomes and intentional disparity. This disparity reflects my reaction to the day-to-day trickster that is life. The pieces submitted draw inspiration from the perceptual landscape, capturing nature through the prisms of memory, sensory experience, and artistic interpretation.
