Membership News

NAWA is entering its fiscal year 2025-26. The year runs October 1 through the following September 30, and now is the dues renewal period. NAWA is also currently admitting and onboarding new members from the Fall Membership Drive, and we have a good pool of more than 80 applicants.
The Fall Induction Ceremony will take place November 6, 2025, at the National Arts Club (free), with a one-week New Members Exhibit running concurrently in the Trask Gallery, also in the National Arts Club, from November 2-8, 2025. This exhibition is for March and September 2025 inductees only.

Strategic Planning

For the better part of this year, we have been implementing NAWA’s Strategic Plan, in the works since 2024, which includes many important reboots and initiatives. These include:

  • Rebuilding the Finance Committee
  • Rebooting NAWA Fundraising
  • Implementing the NAWA Visibility Project Grant from an anonymous donor.
    • Panel Discussions
    • NAWA Promotional Video
    • Redesign of NAWA NOW Magazine
    • Ongoing website edits

And more…

Art Angels

NAWA is largely volunteer run. The Art Angels Exhibit is shown online, in 2025, honoring and showing the work of 50 of NAWA’s most robust contributing volunteers in so many important aspects of NAWA’s operations. Somehow, these special members manage to create amazing artwork AND do amazing work for our beloved association. Please, member readers, consider spreading your NAWA wings to become an Art Angel. Members who donate 16 hours or more are eligible to submit to this exhibit, generously sponsored by American Woman Spirit Company. Benefits of volunteering are many: utilizing your special skills, working together with other artist members, and creating and sustaining sincere friendships. Make sure you read This Week With NAWA newsletter for all updates.

Non-members, please open and read any emails from NAWA to view exhibitions and support our legacy and vision.

Exhibitions

NAWA is booked with exhibitions for 2026, and has some wonderful venues lined up. A first time West Coast venue is the Sasse Museum in Pomona, CA, thanks to member Jeni Bate. There will be an exhibit at the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, NY from April to July of 2026, and a printmaking exhibit at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk, CT. All this in addition to our Annual Exhibit, returning to the Leonovich Gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood in NYC, and the repeating Flushing Bank, Aloft Hotel, Winter and Summer Small Works exhibitions. We cannot complain of boredom!!!

Support

NAWA is seeking more sponsorships, more advertising (including, NEW, in the online magazine, NAWA NOW), more collectors and more donors. This is the wind behind all the “visibility” initiatives, and we always appreciate any help in this and all NAWA endeavors.
Enjoy the special days of autumn, in whatever way you like to enjoy.
