I love working with oil paint and people inspire most of my work. The model who posed for this painting , Emily Metalskin, is one of the most inspiring models I have had the pleasure of working with; a consummate professional her poses evoke unique characteristics. In “Transient”I painted her as a woman experiencing the quandary of being a lone homeless wanderer, a condition I could relate to on a personal level having been, in my younger years, just that. It is essential for me to find an aspect of recognition in all my subjects be they animal vegetable or mineral; to create a felt story of life through the medium of visual art.
