oil on panel 18 x 18 x 1.5" Through my paintings, I’ve become attentive to the splendid drama of my everyday world. How the wind can create a ripple in a pond, a flock of birds descending on a field, or how sunlight can illuminate the side of a building are small miracles that happen all around us. In my latest series of oil paintings called Old Souls, I have paid homage to the trees I’m familiar with as I progress through my daily life and work. I thought of these paintings more as portraits of friends than as landscape paintings. I believe nature is intertwined with our lives and has an awareness of our human activity. I find this feeling most prevalent with trees. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between artist and buyer after the purchase.

Look Up and Listen to the Starssmall marble headSize: 8 x 6 x 6This small 2022 marble sculpture is an invitation for stargazing. More than half of the world's population lives in cities so we forget and overlook the innate relationship with the Universe. Beyond light pollution, there exists above our heads the same night sky, the same Milky Way, the same stars and galaxies that make no difference whatsoever between humans on Earth who might, if they wish to do so, look up and learn more about the sound waves of stars.

stone 20 x 9 x 9" Bodhisattva embodies two defining aspects of my life. It reflects my earlier interest as a Buddhist scholar and my concern for the environment in our global effort to recycle and reuse unwanted materials. The piece is made out of an old building stone discarded during renovation and other salvaged items from Community Forklift, a non-profit reuse center in the DC area. Vowing to promote spiritual awakening and save all beings, the bodhisattva aspires to enlightenment for the good of others.

gold painted marble heads on wood stand 7 x 18 x 12" Two lines of thought influence my work: The prehistoric Neolithic Period and Buddhist figures. I used leftover stone and reclaimed wood to create both landscapes. Gold paint is the latest addition to my work. One landscape tells the story of Venus of Willendorf, whom I imagine being a female direct carver standing tall among her self-made stone sculptures. In the other piece, I created the burial ground of four parts that make up a whole: the self, the person, the living soul, and the being reunited in their resting place. The four selves are a recurrent theme in my work.

Marble 26 x 13 x 23"I work on the stone directly. Memories feed my inspiration. Those of past and present studies and travels around the world. Direct carving means letting the stone guide you. It is an act of faith that aims to bring balance to my mind and body as I look forward to satisfying my insatiable curiosity. The Universe, I see, reveals itself by expressing itself and knows itself through every bit of experience, and so is my work as a female sculptor, only limited in the process by the material circumstances I encounter: the quality, size, and veins of the marble.

Manifest Aluminum Print Size of Piece: 20 x 16 x 25 I like photographing translucent collages on a light box and enhancing the images to come up with new ways of seeing things. I started this practice when checking in with a therapeutic light box for my seasonal affective disorder. I started exploring ways of arranging shapes and colors with layers. The light holds in the finished work and the colors are jewel-toned. 'Energy in Motion' is about finding our power. Orange is a strong color and rules the naval center. Find your energy and move it. Manifest what you desire. Aluminum prints work well with this work. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

Our ideas are ready to materialize in the world.

Exit Neon Photography Size: 11 x 14 As a mixed media artist, I have spent years exploring and combining various materials to express the intricacies of human memory, emotion, and perception. My work often bridges 21st-century Modernism with the new realism movement, capturing not what is seen, but what is felt and remembered. The intuitive realism at the heart of my paintings has led me on a journey to explore photography as a new medium in my artistic practice. Although my roots are in painting, I began developing my photography work in earnest just last year, bringing with it a fresh dimension to my exploration of light, color, and texture. Photography allows me to capture fleeting moments, unveiling hidden beauty in the everyday. It is an evolution of my mixed media approach, focusing on the delicate interplay between light and shadow, abstraction, and the way our eyes perceive the world around us. In my photographs, I seek to express not just the subject, but the emotional and sensory experience of the moment. Each image is an invitation to see beyond the surface, to find resonance in the seemingly ordinary, and to embrace the energy that exists in the unseen. Through photography, I continue to challenge myself and my artistic practice, using the camera as another tool to reveal the truths that lie beneath the surface. I am excited by the endless possibilities this new medium offers and look forward to sharing more of this evolving work with the world. cut canvas, acrylic, collage mounted on panel 29 x 17 x 2" My Off the Wall series are experimental, dimensional, sculptural works that hang on the wall. Collage 15 x 11 in. I love collage. I collect paper, cut it up, and move the bits around until an image comes together. With no idea in mind, it’s just play & discovery, with a surprise reward at the end! “Girlfriends” reflects new techniques I was trying out: painting and printing on wallpaper scraps and deli paper, and, experimenting with “faux” encaustics: transferring an image onto matte Dura-lar Mylar and adhering it image side down, producing a translucent, beeswax effect. Using people as subject matter is also new. A friend had given me a packet of old photos, and immediately, they spoke to me.

Alcohol Ink Almost a Square of Red Lines Size: 11 x 11 Framed Size: 15 x 15 Cheryl Levin’s current minimal ink drawings on paper use repetition to bind herself to the creative process. Using dip pen or brush, each line she applies is akin to a sentence in a letter making paragraphs on a page; each drawn line follows the next creating a correspondence with her inner and outer self. Almost a Square of Red Lines is part of multiple series of Levin's as part of her growth and transformation from major life changes thus her work is often viewed as landscapes of lives' journeys or life paths. Here, the whole square - not quite filled in - reflects what is left out of the landscape of our lives. The papers' edge and the ink absorption become part of the fragile journey. acrylic, collage on canvas 24 x 24 x 2" My Portals are acrylic, mixed media on canvas. They represent openings to opportunities, the unknown, which seem promising, beautiful, enticing. Like Native American "dream catcher," portals offer a landscape of positive energies surrounded by edges that can snag and encumber the viewer as they reach for the magic in the center. Portals reflect opportunities for a quiet, meditative, and peaceful space encumbered by unknown obstacles, dangers, and barriers. One must focus on the safety and quietness in the portal's center, while also navigating the broken, seen and unseen impediments that may interfere with the journey forward.

Pieces of Mesculpture steelSize: 13.5 x 10.5"Pieces of Me" invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences of heartbreak, offering a space for solace and transformation. In the process of creating this sculpture, I navigated my own emotions, caring for the piece with tenderness as if I were engaged in a dialogue with myself about the complexities of breakups. This journey underscored the importance of self-compassion and the necessity of allowing time to heal. Inspired by my personal experiences, my creative process was rooted in deep introspection and a profound connection to the material. Ultimately, "Pieces of Me" seeks to resonate with others, fostering contemplation and encouraging them to embrace their own paths toward healing and renewal.

ink on yupo paper 12 x 16 x 1"In times of darkness, there is always a ray of hope, positivity, and light. The painting, Always Follow the Light, is an image to remind the viewer to never give up. There is a choice to seek the possibility that comes in every phase of life. It is within each soul to seek that special light. This painting is dedicated to my mother, who while battling cancer, spoke her last words " Well, I have had a wonderful life". She always followed the light.

soft pastel on Canson Mi-Teintes Touch sanded paper 18.25 x 13.375" My work is inspired by objects and scenes from the natural world. I work mainly in soft pastels, and watercolor. When I'm observing something, I'm not simply noticing the object or the landscape before me, I see the dance of colors in color, the lyricism of line, and the play of shapes through value and space. We are surrounded by sublime beauty in the mundane as much as in the extraordinary, and it's this transitory beauty that I am compelled to capture. Aiming to make my work accessible and easy to understand, I prefer to create representational work.

Works on Paper 36 x 36 in. This piece, Windblown, is part of a series called Transitions. When I started this series I was touched by the lament of “women of a certain age”, feeling that they were invisible, overlooked, and insignificant. This series is my attempt to visually capture this time in a woman’s life as an ending as well as a new beginning as the sunflower emits its seeds and begins again. The subject of this work is an aged, dried sunflower. I used Chinese ink to explore the transient nature of life and the strength of that transience. Curls Chinese Ink on Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper Size: 26 x 22" My latest series captures sunflowers in the process of aging to explore the third act of life; the search for new purpose.
