  • Put the Sun Back
acrylic, hand printed paper, wax medium on wood
    Size: 20 x 20
Living near the New England coast, I am excited by all the seasons— but especially spring when the environment comes alive, sometimes overnight. I have a small fish pond and after months of semi hibernation, the colorful fish, also, perhaps wish for the sun to come back. • Evening in Portofino
    Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 20 x 30" My work is about joy. It is about the practice of intentionally noticing and connecting to beauty all around us: a reflection on water, the summer evening light illuminating a sidewalk cafe, or the contrast of whitewashed dwellings with the cobalt blue ocean. I feel a deep and soulful response to this simple kind of beauty. It is profoundly personal. This is not about painting a pretty thing. This is a connection felt in a single glance. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • From Her Hands to Mine
Mixed Media: Acrylic, ink, graphite, thread, and image transfer
Size: 14 x 14 This mixed media work layers acrylic, ink, and graphite to create a soft, organic foundation that gradually builds in depth and texture. Image transfers of traditional Palestinian tatreez embroidery are embedded into the surface, ghost-like imprints that echo ancestral memory. A reinterpretation of the Moon and Stars embroidery motif, machine stitched on water-soluble fabric, leaving behind only thread. Attached onto a ripped layered painting on paper, the embroidery binds the two pieces together, symbolizing the passing down of tradition and the quiet strength of what endures. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Interiors #3
    acrylic on canvas painting
    Size: 24 x 24
INTERIORS is a series of eight paintings of oversized and close up views seen from the heart of one Poinciana tree that grows in my front yard. Viewed from within the tree, intense light pours around petals and leaves, reveals delicate lacey patterns, bulging seedpods, and deeply corroded bark. From this intimate perspective, one discovers compositions abstracted by scale and lack of context, different from the tree we thought we knew, a view more often seen by ants and lizards on the Poinciana highway. The parts and pieces, whether recognizable or not, take on a life of their own and become parts of a complex puzzle. The attraction is not in recognizing a named, beautiful thing, but in opening one’s eyes to the incredible richness of natural images framed for the viewer by the artist. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • pastel on paper
14 x 14" My work captures the subtle lights, reflections and hidden hues on the subjects. I enjoy painting ordinary subjects. These moments are often over-looked by most people passing by. I find it more interesting to bring out the beauty of everyday life than painting something already beatiful. These moments are such as the rainbow light coming through the subway station, or worn stones by the old dock at dusk. The pastel medium allows me to capture moments quickly with bold and pure colors. Timelapse videos of my painting process can be seen on Instagram @fangsullivan.

  • Enchanted Colors #1 Acrylic on Canvas Size of Piece: 20 x 20 "Enchanted Colors," and “Dialogue With Colors-Across The Sphere” emerged from my fascination with the interplay of vibrant hues and organic forms. The inspiration came from moments of reflection on nature's subtle beauty and the emotional resonance colors evoke. My creative process involves layering paint, allowing the colors to blend, interact, and reveal unexpected patterns and textures. I let intuition guide the flow of each brushstroke, embracing spontaneity while balancing structure and abstraction. In this work, I sought to capture a sense of movement and wonder—a visual echo of fleeting memories and emotions. The vibrant pinks, blues, and greens reflect an internal dialogue of joy, introspection, and curiosity. Through this piece, I aim to invite viewers into a world of dynamic Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Hava Mixed Media on Paper Size of Piece: 24 x 18 x .05 As women, we are not simple. We are complex, exquisite beings that hold more potential than ever recognized. For thousands of years, across regions, for the sake of safety, we hid our true nature to accommodate those with made-up power. Now, we are leaping out of our assigned frames and are claiming our own narrative. Equality is a basic human right, a fundamental pillar in establishing a peaceful and prosperous world. While progress happens, there is still a great deal left to do. Girls and women continue to face significant challenges all around the world. Historically, though, women are described as goddesses, spirits, mythical beings from fairytales and scriptures - we are holy and dangerous. We are everything man desires and everything he fears, his source of life and his terror at the thought of death, of loss. All these contradictions stir many questions and emotions, but we learn to find the balance in life. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Outlook Santorini Acrylic on Canvas Size of Piece: 30 x 40 x 1.5 Painting is a meditative journey for me, a way to process loss and transform grief into something vibrant and full of hope. After my brother passed away, I felt an urgent need to create—not just for the sake of making art, but as a way to heal. Through bold colors and expressive brushstrokes, I seek to uplift both myself and those who experience my work, showing that even in darkness, beauty and joy can emerge. In paintings like Outlook Santorini, New Day, and Flower Fields, I abstract natural landscapes to capture their essence and emotion. Outlook Santorini reflects the island’s peaceful vistas, translating its tranquility into layers of color and movement. New Day speaks to renewal and optimism, its light-filled hues evoking the fresh start that comes with dawn. Flower Fields is a celebration of nature’s energy, bursting with expressive colors that mirror the vitality of a landscape in bloom. • Beach No.5 Silkscreen on Paper Size of Piece: 15 x 22

My work investigates resemblance of particular surroundings in connection with site specific placement. What interests me is the interconnection with the landscape and the viewer themselves, impression of their own identity, and peculiar memories in the specific surrounding.

In this particular print series, I worked with the beach scapes of the unforgettable Cape Cod area, often working on location while preparing first drawings and color sketches. By combining layered imagery, working with a dramatic contrast and values, along with the innovative methods of digital print and halftone, I was able to investigate the ability to recall certain memories, good and bad that often stopped a viewer in their tracks, and let them escape to the unknown while at the ocean side.

  • Coral Cockatoos Charcoal and Acrylic on Panel Size: 6 x 6" Phantasmagoria is my original art technique, developed to create haunting, ethereal visuals, similar to daguerreotypes (an early form of photography where the image was made on a polished silver-coated copper plate). By combining the deep, matte tones of charcoal with the iridescent shimmer of interference acrylics, I craft images that blend nostalgic depth with modern luminescence. Charcoal creates rich contrasts and textures, while thin layers of interference acrylics add a color-shifting glow, evoking a ghostly movement. Named after 19th-century optical spectacles, Phantasmagoria produces dreamlike, timeless artworks that fuse sharp detail with otherworldly light. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Only Time for a Glance
    collage on canvas
Size: 30 x 30" I was left with a lasting impression after a trip to South Africa, Botswana & Zambia that led me to create art work reminiscent of that geography. • Syncopation
    Acrylic on Bristol Paper
Size: 22 x 28 Jazz - the original music of America, was born in New Orleans from blues and gospel, African rhythms and melodies, hymns, ragtime, spirituals and other musical styles. Incorporated into my work are the colors of the clothing, the noise and grids of city living, notes of music, buttons and keys of horns, and the fingerprints of the musicians who created jazz. The whimsical placement of the notes, on the underlying rhythmic and repeated colors and shapes, can bring the viewer to almost hear the music in this painting. • Pressing on No. 2 collage: thread, woven paper on vintage iron
    Size: 5.5 x 3.25 x 10
PRESSING ON Series combines artifact, word* and fiber – the hardness of iron, the softness of fibers, and the wisdom of words, as a testament to generations of women, the multi-layered heritage, domesticity and female domains. Antique sad (solid) irons evoke the tactile, experiential memory - the personal 'herstories'. Utilizing: *text from writings by pro-feminist, abolitionist, writer Hannah More, published anonymously in 1791. More's life-long overriding cause was galvanizing women to act not as domestic ornaments, but as thinking, engaged and responsible beings. Hannah gave the abolitionist movement a public voice with her writings. Dying in September of 1833, she lived just long enough to see slavery abolished in the British Empire. Awareness of the dedicated work of Hannah More in the 18th C. illustrates the depth and density of deep seated issues within our culture and inspires us to continue to raise one's voice to inequality and injustice. acrylic on wood panel
    Size: 24 x 30
This painting is part of a series created in response to the energetic demolition of the original 1930s steel truss Kosciusko Bridge in 2017. The sturdy bridge that had stood for so many years connecting Brooklyn and Queens, and carried so many people and their memories, disappeared in a puff of smoke. • The Whisperer
reclaimed wood, wire, knitted straw, metal tag
    Size: 28 x 28 x 3
I am the Whisperer, whispering the truth. I dare not speak these words aloud, the consequences are grave. They took our land, our water, our wilderness. They took our children and tried to make them forget. But we are still here, still telling our story. Much to their disappointment, we did not disappear: We are a strong people. Listen closely. Your heart may already be hearing the whispers. They speak the truth. Take heed. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Her Hands Were Watching Me (From the Into the Woods series)
Acrylic/ Mixed Media on cradled panel
Size: 24 x 18 ‘Her Hands Were Watching Me’ belongs to the Into The Woods Series that depicts human connections during different phases of life. In this painting I aim to convey a sense of mystery along with emotion. I wanted to invite the viewer to examine and feel the conflict of connection, identity, and interaction. All the while knowing, actually hoping, that they will interpret the scene through their own perspectives. To me, this is the real connection to my artwork. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Joseph's Tunic Watercolor on paper Size: 20.75 x 24" For the past several years I’ve been dealing with my daughter’s untimely death. She taught middle school ancient history. That’s what led me to look at a schematic of the Biblical tabernacle in Jerusalem and make paintings based on it. Some of this work has focused on the scarlet, purple, and indigo veils that separate the three sections of the tabernacle. Recently, I’ve delved into the Old Testament to learn about the cloths used to make garments. I’ve made paintings of Jospeh’s tunic and Job’s sack cloth. I like the meditative quality of this new work and how it sustains me. After covering the surface of the paper or canvas with hundreds of circles or ellipses, I build layer upon layer of paint leaving some areas exposed. Making painting with these references lets me feel connected to my daughter and is helping me process my grief. • Eastern watercolor/sumi-e on single Shuen rice paper
20 x 32 x 2" The world of the people of the streets is stripped down to basic survival, but with a need of self worth, ownership. The grocery cart has become the symbol of that need to show ownership of something, anything. A metaphor for they themselves, cast offs, other peoples throw aways.  The carts, battered and bent, with the wonky wheels we hate to get when shopping, they live with it everyday, until the carts themselves are discarded and they become a part of the landscape, the urban landscape, lawn ornaments, trash piling up in vacant lots, bus stations and public parks. Seen and acknowledged by all that pass by, much more so than the people that once used them to transport their worlds.

  • Dance of the Lily Pads Color Pencil on Drafting Film Size of Piece: 23 x 30 Realism is the style that I have embraced for my work. Perhaps the truth is that it embraced me, flowing naturally from my hand, with inspiration coming from the world around me. Colored pencil is the medium I have chosen for most of my work. What started as a lifestyle choice (pencils are clean and easily transportable from primary residence to lake house) became an artistic choice. I’m a control freak - free and loose is NOT my style - so colored pencils are the perfect medium for me. Their layering and blending capabilities, the transparency of some colors, and vibrant pigments help me convey the interplay of color and light in my subject matter. At times, I use colors that are more brilliant or saturated than what I see in nature. It pleases me, and I hope it pleases the viewer. • Greenwich Village Midday
    acrylic on canvas
    Size: 20 x 20
Greenwich Village Morning features Jefferson Market Library on Sixth Avenue between 10th and 9th Streets. I grew up nearby and I used to pass by it on my way to elementary school. Later on, on my way to NYU and to many life events, professional and personal, over the years. Greenwich Village has changed a lot since I lived there. It no longer has the bohemian vibe that attracted so many artists, writers and performers in the fifties, sixties and seventies. Many of the buildings and businesses are gone too, casualties of gentrification. However, the library always brings back memories of those halcyon days. • Reading by the Seashore Acrylic/Canvas Size of Piece: 16 x 20

Girl by the Seashore was painted from imagination,  another way I work.  Sometimes, I paint from imagination directly, with maybe only a thought to where the work will go, but more often, and here, the composition is derived from a pencil drawing, originally from imagination I which made quite a few years ago and still love.  I draw a lot.  Here, I worked to get the light the way I wanted it.

  • Be A Rebel
    Acrylic on Canvas
Size: 30 x 30 I paint because I bleed Alizarin Crimson. As a small child I painted a yellow sun into a blue sky and CREATED GREEN! I remain awe-struck at this  always-new discovery of color creation and juxtaposition. My process is "reduction"; painting till the canvas is over-full of movement and connections then obliterating that world-chaos until the becomes a complete and orderly composition. As I would love the world to be; composed, organized. I am excited by the evolution of shapes and the discovery of how movement impacts each of these shapes to become cohesive. bronze bas relief with crystals
    Size: 13 x 9
Recently moving my 3D clay portrait busts from Boston to my new home in Savannah was challenging. Upon arrival, I tried my hand at bas reliefs yet several broke for various reasons. • Whispers Beneath the Surface
    fiber fabric art
    Size: 36 x 24
I’m a textile artist who is inspired by the world around me, especially by nature. I look at my surroundings with inquisitive eyes and mind, with curiosity, knowing there are hidden treasures to be found and turned into art. My artistic approach is mostly intuitive with a constant awareness of color combination and contrast. The use of strong colors is a direct influence of my Brazilian heritage. Using fabric as the medium to create my art pieces was a natural choice since I have been working with it from my teenage years. My creative process can be described in two phases. The first one is the combination of inspiration and visualization of an art piece. The second phase is transforming what I visualized into actual artwork. It requires selecting fabrics as close as possible to my vision, adjusting, and sometimes, starting all over again.

Watercolor and gouache on watercolor paper
Size: 12 x 16" My niece's husband suddenly died from an incurable disease. I flew out to California to be there for her, to give she and her three children morale support. This was the view from her home. It was my first day there. The sky seemed to be so telling of all that her family was experiencing. The clouds were so amazingly dramatic, the light so striking along with the mountains. It was beautiful but ominous. Almost as if Aaron were speaking to us all...letting us know he was still there. • Fluidity of Universal Time Poured watercolors, acrylics, UV varnish on canvas Size: 18 x 24" In recent years, the universe has been an intriguing source of inspiration. I have created a series of three unique versions of the universe: “Window on my universe” , “Doorways to alternate universes” and now my third painting of this series, which I call: “Fluidity of universal time.” In this painting I once again look to retreat into my imagination and examine time and our universe through the lens of my “mind’s eye” . For this painting I examine not only what I imagine the celestial world looks like but also the concept of time. With a little help from Salvador Dali, I conclude that our interpretation of time is relative to our uniquely different fluid views.
