  • Syncopation
    Acrylic on Bristol Paper
Size: 22 x 28 Jazz - the original music of America, was born in New Orleans from blues and gospel, African rhythms and melodies, hymns, ragtime, spirituals and other musical styles. Incorporated into my work are the colors of the clothing, the noise and grids of city living, notes of music, buttons and keys of horns, and the fingerprints of the musicians who created jazz. The whimsical placement of the notes, on the underlying rhythmic and repeated colors and shapes, can bring the viewer to almost hear the music in this painting. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Benedum
Oil on Canvas with Palette Knife
Size: 20 x 16 This is a street view of the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts located in downtown Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It really could be any city’s skyline on a beautiful night with stars in the sky and twinkling lights reflecting in a fountain. I took the picture which led to the painting with the hopes of capturing the excitement in the air before a thrilling performance. My technique of using palette knives to spread the oil paint on the canvas enables me to stay loose with undefined edges letting the minds eye complete the structure. Oil paint is the perfect medium for applying layers to create texture that adds movement and definition. The dark moody colors let the electric lights glow. Creatively this painting captures a night on the town! Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Duet
    Acrylic on canvas, framed
Size: 16 x 20 This piece is about the dance that takes place between nature and the slow demise of human manufactured structures. Over time, when left unattended, that which we create is returned to the natural environment. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Cityscape
    Oil on canvas painting
Size: 20 x 24 In “Cityscape” I balanced texture, color, geometric shapes, and dimension through shadow to create a dynamic environment. I was intrigued with the play of positive and negative space. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Approaching Storm, Marina Day's End
    Watercolor
Size: 9 x 12 This was an Adirondacks plein air location, on Lake Champlain as a storm approached at the of the day. Boats rushed in and then tied up tight and sudden quiet tension, bracing for the storm. I worked to get it done and dismantle the easel before the first drop of rain. Stormy times we are living in now and when this was painted not long ago. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Abigail Went Missing
    Oil on Archival Panel
Size: 30 x 30 I have done many paintings with tornadoes which express my concern over our climate crisis. I also try to combine these images with figures that provide a contrast and an emotion that heighten that imagery. That is what I strove for with Abigail Went Missing, a confluence of images that first captures the eye and then over time captures the mind. As with most works I begin the painting itself carries me along into something that I am not completely aware but go along for the ride and then I realize that the work is telling me the story. Abigail expresses the concern over our current catastrophic climate both literally and metaphorically but it also hints at drama that might have happened long ago. In that vein I will continue to add other companion paintings to accompany her in the future. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • From Her Hands to Mine
Mixed Media: Acrylic, ink, graphite, thread, and image transfer
Size: 14 x 14 This mixed media work layers acrylic, ink, and graphite to create a soft, organic foundation that gradually builds in depth and texture. Image transfers of traditional Palestinian tatreez embroidery are embedded into the surface, ghost-like imprints that echo ancestral memory. A reinterpretation of the Moon and Stars embroidery motif, machine stitched on water-soluble fabric, leaving behind only thread. Attached onto a ripped layered painting on paper, the embroidery binds the two pieces together, symbolizing the passing down of tradition and the quiet strength of what endures. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Dynamic Interplay
    Oil on canvas painting
Size: 36 x 36 I have been working with gesture, capturing a moment in time. This painting emerged from those efforts, somewhat as a surprise. As every artist knows, sometimes your intentions occur without struggle and it is time to stop and go with the image before you. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Aazam Irilian
    Lumina
Size: 24 x 24 "Lumina" invites viewers into a dreamlike expanse where the boundaries between space, memory, and imagination blur. It evokes the mystery of a distant nebula—or perhaps an undiscovered world—leaving space for wonder and interpretation. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Tiny Red Leaves
    acrylic on canvas
Size: 48 x 30 I live in Florida, but spend the summer in the mountains in NC. There with the changes in seasons, I see the changes in the landscape and the woods. After the first frost the more fragile vines on the soaring trees first turn red and later brown and drop off. The red accents though small are so noticeable and herald the coming change of season. The day I saw this scene the sky was the legendary deep Carolina blue and white clouds were streaming across. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • New Heaven

My work is further enhanced by the simulated backgrounds, which serve as a stage for the spiritual imagery drama I aim to portray. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Alley in Bloom
    painting

  • Ballet-Series VII: All Dressed
    watercolor on arches paper
Size: 21.25 x 29.25 These actual-ballerinas were photographed the day many of us artists went in under an arrangement to drawing them live...along with the live sketches and paintings that I completed during the session, I painted this one later. • Emerge
acrylic on paper mounted to wooden cradle
Size: 5 x 7 “Emerge” is an intimately small painting filled with structural elements, yet free of real-world relationships. It is the opposite of the massive scale of buildings done when I was an architect. Elements of bold translucent colors bring a lively rhythm to the structural grid. As an artist I am free of architectural and structural constraints, free to move into a world purely of my own creation. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Still Life: Green and Orange Study
    oil on canvas
Size: 18 x 24 I am constantly hoarding; filling my studio with empty plastic bottles and discarded packaging. I commemorate these objects through painting before I let them go. My work investigates consumerism, environmentalism, and sentimentality under the framework of Western still-life painting traditions. However, I reach for formal haphazardness, letting my eyes wander around the dark, messy corners of my studio until they land naturally on interesting moments. I then zoom in and out of this potential composition, not moving anything but rather adjusting my own body’s placement in relation to what is already there. I transform candy wrappers and tabletops into odd, illogical spaces. The result is a traffic jam of bottles and forgotten Post-It notes, rendered almost unintelligible. I paint from life in oil paint, experimenting with colorful lighting. Though I am looking intensely at the tableau set before me, I am an unreliable narrator, creating visual puzzles and selective realities. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Boxed
    acrylic on canvas with craypas
    Size: 44 x 52
"Boxed" is my story of isolation. Painted at the tail end of the pandemic, I feel it applies univarsally to all feelings of isolation. The viewer of this painting is repeatedly drawn down into a deep box, but then urged upward into the open ends, evoking feelings of hope and release. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

    oil painting
    Size: 14 x 11
“A Stroll Through Giverny” reflects my experience visiting the village of Giverny, where the morning light infused the street and gardens with a luminous warmth. • Eager Sun
    acrylic on cradled wood
    Size: 20 x 20
My paintings develop intuitively as a fusion of my mind, heart and hand at any particular time. Beginning without a preconceived plan, and while accessing a mood or memory in my mind's eye, I explore the limitless possibilities of abstraction. While applying many layers of paint, eventually a movement of floating, amorphous shapes evolves. Surprises occur. Each work is a unique set of discoveries and an exploration unto itself. • Fragments of Memory
sumi ink, tengucho paper, paper on paper.
    Size: 8 x 12
My artistic focus centers on creating abstract landscapes that explore transformation as a shared force between the natural world and human life. Attuned to nature’s rhythms—where change is constant, interconnected, and reflective of our own shifting inner worlds. I explore the interplay of movement and stillness, structure and fluidity. My work reflects the contrasts of the world around us—organic and man-made, fleeting and permanent, controlled and spontaneous. At the core of my practice is a fascination with these tensions. I aim to capture transformation—external and internal—through forms that reveal something beyond the visible and invite a dialogue that continues to evolve. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Mother's Helper
watercolor on hahnemuhle 100% rag paper
    Size: 9 x 11
I saw the cool winter light shining through the kitchen window. It reminded me of Vermeer paintings I was so familiar with. I couldn't help but want to replicate that feeling. Using my new favorite medium, watercolor, and my granddaughter as my model, I proceeded to act upon that impulse, creating the painting, "Mother's Helper." Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Hawaiian White Ginger
    watercolor painting
    Size: 11.5 x 20
The tropical florals are an ongoing series of watercolors inspired by a solo show I was invited to have at the Koa Gallery in Honolulu that ran concurrent to a High School Reunion in Honolulu where I was born and raised. The work explores my passion for watercolor, serial imagery and evocative color. The subject matter takes me back to my roots and feelings of desire, longing, and a painful nostalgia as I relive my life rich with exotic scents, colors and adventures with childhood and teen friends, most of whom are still living in this tropical paradise and remain my closest friends to this day. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

I endeavor to discover new and unique combinations of watermedia. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Pressing on No. 2 collage: thread, woven paper on vintage iron
    Size: 5.5 x 3.25 x 10
PRESSING ON Series combines artifact, word* and fiber – the hardness of iron, the softness of fibers, and the wisdom of words, as a testament to generations of women, the multi-layered heritage, domesticity and female domains. Antique sad (solid) irons evoke the tactile, experiential memory - the personal 'herstories'. Utilizing: *text from writings by pro-feminist, abolitionist, writer Hannah More, published anonymously in 1791. More's life-long overriding cause was galvanizing women to act not as domestic ornaments, but as thinking, engaged and responsible beings. Hannah gave the abolitionist movement a public voice with her writings. Dying in September of 1833, she lived just long enough to see slavery abolished in the British Empire. Awareness of the dedicated work of Hannah More in the 18th C. illustrates the depth and density of deep seated issues within our culture and inspires us to continue to raise one's voice to inequality and injustice. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

reclaimed wood, wire, knitted straw, metal tag
    Size: 28 x 28 x 3
I am the Whisperer, whispering the truth. I dare not speak these words aloud, the consequences are grave. They took our land, our water, our wilderness. Your heart may already be hearing the whispers. They speak the truth. Take heed. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Small Work With A Dot On The Left
    ink on rice paper
    Size: 7.75 x 7.75
Levin’s ink drawings use dip pen on paper. Her undulating lines contain stops and starts, deliberate accidents, ink bleeding into the paper fibers, one line at a time in a repeated pattern. In the artist’s words, “Repetition is a mediating factor between things that came before and the present.” From a distance, we see a whole shape. Up close, however, the series of thinly drawn and repetitive lines ripple from one to another, creating connections to natural phenomena, such as, the rings on a tree, the whirls on a fingertip, water patterns, or the markings of an ancient cuneiform. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • The Undoing of Being
graphite & colored pencil on paper
    Size: 48 x 27
A deteriorating, decomposing stump of a felled tree is superimposed on a landscape. The extreme physicality of the stump engages and thrusts the experience directly into the viewer's space. Title refers to the collapse of a physical system into increasing levels of disorder and uncertainty. It calls attention to time in a deep sense as well as attention to the destruction of our natural environment. The mesmeric process of careful observation utilizing many grades of graphite pencils is a time-consuming detailed approach where textures are always visible and pulsating with life. At the same time, my technique is a metaphor for embracing the moment. It’s fascinating to me to work with the basic material of the earth – what was once life – to create works that are completely integrated with the images. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
