Oil on Panel 12 x 24"Romantic Evening at Pebble Beach was painted "en plein air" on a deck overlooking the ocean, bluffs and cypress trees with Point Lobos in the distance. This is one of my favorite spots to paint. It offers something new every time depending on the time of day, the season, the clear or cloudy sky, the color of the sea, or the height of the waves. This rendition was done for the Carmel Art Festival on an evening in May. I started at about 5pm, working quickly to capture the light of the setting sun on the water.

Oil on Panel 18 x 18"Springtime Seas was painted "en plein air" on the sand in Pacifica, California. The waves were high and the sea was reflecting the bluster of the clouds and wind of the brisk, Spring Day. It was fun to watch the waves rush in and crash, leaving tendrils of foam and wet sand on the shore. Gazing out to the horizon where the sea meets the sky, purples and pinks touched the clouds, shadows lengthened and the sun kissed the edges of the trees and the tops of the waves.

But He Died Collage and acrylic on panel Size of Piece: 24 x 24 x 1.5 Inspired by the beautiful rolling foothills in Umbria, Italy, this piece captures the energy and heat of summer in this area. My work comes in bursts of spontaneity—bold, colorful, and full of energy—yet created in a state of complete calm. I'm delighted when the unexpected emerges. Those surprises excite me and guide the pieces to their final forms. I’m inspired by both the wild freedom of the abstract expressionists and the sharp clarity of the precisionists, always searching for a balance between the two. Every piece is an adventure, a conversation between instinct and intention, a process that is intuitive, driven by curiosity, and open to the unexpected. What Does She Know? Mixed Media Acrylic on Collage Paper Size: 10 x 8 Framed Size: 14 x 11 In bursts of spontaneity, my initial images are often be inspired by nature or figures. I love it when suddenly I “see” something suggested within the seemingly random marks. They surprise and delight me. My style is rhythmic, colorful and energetic. I am simultaneously inspired by the abstract expressionists and the precisionists – striving for balance in many ways with clean lines and quiet conversations. Painting is a Zen experience for me. Despite procrastinating on the front end, once I get started, I am energized by and lost in the process. I engage in a great deal of self-talk in color mixing and selection, mark making, and always, always tweaking. My nemesis is keeping my hands off a piece I’ve already deemed complete! Often the meaning behind the content emerges after it's done and subjected to contemplation. My titles strive to give a hint of what the piece represents for me yet leaves the viewer to wonder as well. photography 10 x 8" In Tales of a Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes said: “You see, but you do not observe. The distinction is clear.” I take my camera out. I may choose a subject; I may think “that would make a great picture”; I may visit a new place or one I’ve seen before. I want to observe and to present things in a way that causes the viewer to stop and observe. We have the technology to immediately capture whatever is in front of us. The challenge is for people to slow down; to question whether there is only one way to look at something; and to search for new meaning in something they may have seen before. Hava Mixed Media on Paper Size of Piece: 24 x 18 x .05 As women, we are not simple. We are complex, exquisite beings that hold more potential than ever recognized. For thousands of years, across regions, for the sake of safety, we hid our true nature to accommodate those with made-up power. Now, we are leaping out of our assigned frames and are claiming our own narrative. Equality is a basic human right, a fundamental pillar in establishing a peaceful and prosperous world. While progress happens, there is still a great deal left to do. Girls and women continue to face significant challenges all around the world. Historically, though, women are described as goddesses, spirits, mythical beings from fairytales and scriptures - we are holy and dangerous. We are everything man desires and everything he fears, his source of life and his terror at the thought of death, of loss. All these contradictions stir many questions and emotions, but we learn to find the balance in life. oil on canvas 30 x 24 x 1"Ego is a significant part of self-esteem, self-worth, self-confidence, and self-image. We care for it, caress it, allure it, so it stays with us, loves us, and lives in us. Although it is the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious, it's responsible for reality testing, and we need it for a sense of personal identity. Overindulgence in loving yourself may bring Ego to a dangerous state that might hurt us. The Ego separates us from ourselves and becomes an unhealthy sense of superiority and importance. It brings arrogance and self-centered ambition. It becomes our enemy. So, what does one do? Live with the enemy? Tame it? Or maybe killing it is the answer?

oil on canvas 18 x 24" This artwork was born right after Hurricane Sandy caused major devastation along its path. Seeing the destruction of her home and city, the artist found solace in her community's unity to rebuild. The artists went through personal hurricane around the same years, and her work is a tribute to a human spirit and strength. Using the Peacock as a symbol of resilience and beauty, she portrays a world where human can conquer even the most catastrophic events. Through her use of vibrant colors and intricate details, the artist captures the essence of this remarkable spirit, portraying a world in which even the darkest of moments can be transformed into a source of fortitude and inspiration.

Painting Still Life with a Chocolate Bar 16 x 20 x 1 in. My goal for some years now have been to work with only two or three colors and their variations in a painting in order to achieve the full sound of these colors. This is a relatively new task for me, it’s captivating to work on it. In Still Life with a Chocolate Bar the contrast main colors : black, silver, orange - red , the combination of empty shiny silvery and black vessels on an orange and brick - red background are supposed to evoke certain associations and mood. printmaking 5 x 3" The theme of self-introspection is crucial to my art, since I believe that only by delving into the enigmas of the self can an individual truly engage with the world and bring about change in a profound, meaningful way. oil painting 24 x 24" This artwork sparks a vital conversation reflecting the interconnectedness and balance within the microcosm of my garden and the macrocosm of the cosmos. My work draws inspiration from the life cycle of flowers to explore existential questions about existence, purpose, fragility, and interconnectedness. By blending recognizable floral imagery with cosmic visions through layered, transparent glazing techniques, the painting symbolically merges the micro and macro realms. This convergence aims to underscore how all life forms, from the smallest flower to the vast cosmos, are intricately connected and demand an open dialogue to ensure the survival of this universal interdependence.

mixed media 32 x 24 x 3" Contemplating the graphic nature of quilts, I decided to use that concept for a mixed media piece using old photos of my family. I manipulated a photo of myself by turning it into a black-and-white jpg cut and rearranged it to become a graphic outline. I sewed some photos onto the paper with antique buttons, and used tracing paper to "cloud" some of the memories and outline. I continued the stereotype of using quilts as decoration and made the frame to hang the project.
