Magical Unicorn, is a fiber portrait, of a profoundly autistic girl. ASD is a disorder mostly comprised of males. Only 1 in 178 girls are diagnosed with Autism. I discussed with the mother, of the child pictured in this quilt, what she loves, her favorite colors, and composed artwork to represent her. People with profound ASD are infants in aging bodies that exhibit childlike behaviors and activities. While their innocence remains, it is a beautiful and heartbreaking journey to witness.
