Haven II
oil on canvas
11 x 11
This painting began from a quiet morning view outside my home. Rather than describing the landscape directly, I focused on how the moment felt, including the warmth of light, the stillness, and the sense of calm. I used oil paint with layered and textured surfaces to build a space where forms are not fixed but dissolve into color and atmosphere. The horizon becomes a boundary between memory and perception, while the lower area suggests reflection and fluidity. I am interested in how a familiar place can shift into an internal landscape through sensation. This work holds a subtle moment when the outside world becomes something felt rather than clearly seen.
