Many cultures believean object, anumal or person gains additional attribute by changing forms. The octopus can change shapes or appearances. does
shape-shifting ( meaning to change or move)has its origins in ancient myths and legens where gods, spirits and magical beings possesed this ability.
In greek mythology, Proteus ,a sea god, possesed this ability. Certainly a positive trait today: to be able or capable of changing-hopefully moving into a positive direction.
