I found an old diary from a teenaged European trip. I was reminded how much in awe I was in Venice of the way a sunset was reflecting on the water around the islands and boats.

I didn’t have a camera at the time, so I made sketches with my notes. This mixed media artwork is based on my recollections of that view of the Venetian Lagoon. It’s acrylic painting with abstract mixed materials collage.
