I live in Massachusetts by the sea but savor my visits to the sea on the west coast in my frequents visits to my California family. Needless to say, we have no palm trees so their grace as they move with the breeze has long fascinated me and inspired a series of pastel paintings which attempt to capture their dance. My preferred medium is soft pastel as I love their vibrancy and immediacy in my landscape painting.
