This piece is composed of five “love cells”, linked together like a delicate paper chain.
I wanted to move beyond the traditional heart symbol and create a form that feels more alive. For me, love is note fixed or idealized, it moves, adapts and evolves. Each cell is asymmetrical and organic, never fixed or idealized, but constantly shifting, adapting and evolving.
Assembled together, the five elements create a quiet rhythm, a choreography or a “farandole” (a french word for connection and movement).
The Japanese brown patina softens the steel while keeping its strength and imperfections.
