In my current work I am exploring cellular shifts and the many changes that affect our thinking, food, environment and daily life. We are swept away by images flooding our phones and on screens everywhere. I try and step back and reflect on the driving forces beneath view or below our conscious musings. I work in layers whether in monotype, collage or encaustic to represent these layers of meaning. Scraping away wax, adding layers in the press and obscuring text with collage seems to suit my eclectic brain. I want my viewers to stop and look and be surprised at these small works. I use symbols, text and images to tell a larger story. I want to draw in views so that the more they look the more they will see.
