Two in the Mist
oil on canvassed panel
10.5 x 8

This oil painting focuses on two trees, their trunks thick with delicate, fern-like moss. The perspective, taken close up, looks somewhat exaggerated, bringing the foreground tree forward while the second recedes, partially obscured behind it.
A muted, misty background reduces contrast without feeling heavy, showing a whisper of the forms in the back. I was drawn to the quiet presence of the trees and the way they felt almost human, sharing the same experience in the damp, enveloping stillness of the day.
This piece became a reflection of that experience: a sense of companionship found in the landscape, where the natural world feels quietly alive and responsive.
