My Summer Friend
watercolor, Inks, oil sticks, sgraffito on clayboard
14 x 11

Each summer, I return to my homeland and spend five weeks drawing and painting my natural surroundings and its creatures, especially the sheep on the Nature Reserve behind our house. Clayboard is particularly suitable for showing the various textures because it takes almost any medium. Rhys the Ram and his ewes are quite tame because they are used to people, so it is a pleasurable experience.

This work is my attempt to keep what time has already taken.
