Acrylic on Canvas Sacre Sanguis Size: 36 x 12 x 0 Sacre Sanguis celebrates the unique feminine relationship to blood. In writing about the origins of life, Carl Sagan wrote “The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our applies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of star stuff.” The painting includes imagery of constellations and stars to reference that origin of all life on earth. Circles of tick marks suggest sunlight and the circle of life. Literal seeds –some dispersing--populate the canvas. Other dots and whorls reference the molecular basis for life. Lines of energy shoot across the canvas. And all float in the sea of sacred feminine blood, reminding us that women have significant literal, figurative, and spiritual power in the life of our entire planet. • Photoencaustic Jules Size: 24 x 18 Framed Size: 25 x 19 “Strong” and “Woman” These principles come together in Jules, my muse for a season. During this season of collaboration, Jules became an artist alongside me, using her body to share her story—our story as women—of resilience and choices made. For this piece, I chose monochrome to emphasize form and lines: her feminine jawline and curl given to her by nature combined with her powerful muscles developed by her choices. By combining the photograph with encaustic wax, I sought to combine the physicality of the wax and texture with the physicality of her presence and inner beauty. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil and Gold Leaf on Panel Bittersweet Size: 36 x 24 Framed Size: 36.5 x 24.5 The Bittersweet flower has been known to represent truth, persistence and resilience. The truth often being bittersweet. In this painting the woman holds the (flower of) truth and fights off the chaos in the world as represented by the geese with 'truth'. I feel truth is hard to come by and expensive today to verify, but is essential to shifting the balance of good/evil in the world towards good. Truth gives us strength and power even though it may be much smaller than the evil it fights. Geese for me represent chaos and are a local resident of my studio. I composed the image after the conception of the idea. The figure is an invention and is not a portrait of anyone in particular. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic on Wrapped Canvas She's Odd But Nice 18 x 24 The past three years have been very difficult for me as I helped my daughter and a year later my son-in-law through chemo treatments for cancer. Both are in remission at this time. After this exhausting and emotionally trying time, I found myself a very different person. My painting felt inauthentic and forced as I tried to walk a path that was no longer me. I decided to develop a new path that was in line with the person I am now. I changed my painting methods by utilizing a painting wall rather than working flat. I now feel free to express myself in line and movement. My work became playful and meaningful again. My studio became my refuge again. This is who I am today, and it feels good again. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on Canvas Magic Carpet Ride Size: 20 x 20 Framed Size: 21 x 21 As a woman artist, I have many layers - deep and contemplative, enthusiastic and free, humorous, enamored of color and shimmer, deeply caring, and marveling at life. This painting captures all of those feelings and more. As a child I loved the Arabian Nights, the exoticism of Asia, the stars in the heavens, and anything surrounding water. This pieces comes as close to anything I've done to describe my inner feminine life force. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Digital Archival Photograph I Start with Fabric and Make the Environment Sing 16 x 20 I am passionate about photography as an art form. In a world overfull with images, ideas, and messages streaming at us at warp speed, there is profound value in the thoughtfulness, the provocation, the silent aesthetic, the power of a single image made with the vision and ever evolving techniques of fine art photography. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic on Art Board Untitled II-May 25, 2022 Size: 12 x 16 Framed Size: 16 x 20 Taking into consideration the tragedy of the Uvalde shooting, and experiencing the grief and angst that this gun violence and senseless killing of children and others continues, I poured everything-all the emotions I had into several pieces. My work endeavors to take all the conflict, tragedy and transmute it into visual harmony, in essence; take heat and make light. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic on Illustration Board Period Room Size: 10.5 x 8.5 Framed Size: 13 x 11 While most of my paintings are of exteriors: street scenes, building facades and the like. I have recently expanded my repertoire to include interiors. Perhaps because of traditional gender roles, interiors always seem to lend themselves more readily to a feminine perspective than other subject matter. That holds for the dioramic recreation of an eighteenth-century Bordeaux hotel room with its curved walls, delicate molding, ornate chandelier, statuary, and drapery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is an intimate and romantic setting just waiting for two figures to appear. Alas one cannot enter; the doorway is cordoned off. However, the stagecraft that went into it can still be admired up close. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on Canvas Floating on Hope Size: 18 x 36 Framed Size: 19 x 37 I find calm and comfort in the shapes used Mid-century art, particularly by Calder in his mobiles. This is why I am drawn to the leave of the eucalyptus. After a long series of realist still-lifes of these beauties, I began to play with them in the abstract. Here they are floating on what I imagine are good feelings and hope. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Digital Photograph Escalator Up Size: 12 x 15 Framed Size: 16 x 20 I took this picture when I was in a blue funk and all I could see was an escalator. When I look at it now, I see that sometimes one needs help to move forward, and one never knows what one will find if one looks for the light. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Sculpture Positive Negative Noir 16 x 10 x 6 This piece is a tribute to all women struggling with physical deformity whether due to illness or damage to sense of self. Learning acceptance of the positives and negatives is the goal. The women are warriors and symbols of strength and survival. The original piece was carved in marble, and copies were cast in marble dust and resin. Each side shows a positive and negative half. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Alcohol Ink Orange Landscape with a Mistake on the Left Size: 18 x 18 Framed Size: 27 x 27 Cheryl Levin’s current minimal ink drawings on paper use repetition to bind herself to the creative process. Using dip pen or brush, each line she applies is akin to a sentence in a letter making paragraphs on a page; each drawn line follows the next creating a correspondence with her inner and outer self. Orange Landscape is part of multiple series of Levin's as part of her growth and transformation from major life changes thus her work is often viewed as landscapes of lives' journeys or life paths. The papers' edge and planned accidental "mistakes" become part of the fragile journey. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Alcohol Ink Almost a Square of Red Lines Size: 11 x 11 Framed Size: 15 x 15 Cheryl Levin’s current minimal ink drawings on paper use repetition to bind herself to the creative process. Using dip pen or brush, each line she applies is akin to a sentence in a letter making paragraphs on a page; each drawn line follows the next creating a correspondence with her inner and outer self. Almost a Square of Red Lines is part of multiple series of Levin's as part of her growth and transformation from major life changes thus her work is often viewed as landscapes of lives' journeys or life paths. Here, the whole square - not quite filled in - reflects what is left out of the landscape of our lives. The papers' edge and the ink absorption become part of the fragile journey. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Oil on Canvas Storm on the Horizon Size: 16 x 20 Framed Size: 17 x 21 Storm on the Horizon was inspired by the anxiety I have been feeling for the past several years. I am always fighting this worry and fear about the future. This started with the COVID epidemic and has never really gone away. The times we live in are so frightening for so many reasons; increasingly common hate filled rhetoric from political figures and their supporters, an increasingly divided country, worsening climate conditions. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Oil on Linen Girl: Fortuna Waits Size: 16 x 20 Framed Size: 21 x 25 I found an irresistible reference in the newspaper. It was a horror movie clip. Since I've always been terrified by horror movies I decided to take this on and see how much hesitancy I could create in the girl and in myself. It was a push/pull to the end. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Watercolor Pencil The Cairn Size: 30 x 22 Framed Size: 32 x 24 “The Cairn”… The word cairn originated in Gaelic, meaning “mound of stones.” The Cairn's primary purpose for the Celts, Native Americans, and other bygone cultures was to mark an area as sacred ground. This drawing, "The Cairn", is part of a series exploring the impact of conflict on women in war zones today. The contour of these bodies suggests the shape of a Cairn.. Although emotionally crushed by what they and their loved ones have experienced, the embrace of these women also suggests stability, strength and resilience. While they console one another, they create a sacred space. As they work to heal, they forge path forward through the complicated landscape of their broken world. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic on Canvas Malkhei Square 16 x 20 My inspiration for “Zip Again 1”is the revival of my copyright ZIP paintings. Moving to the South from Jersey the Hibiscus flower welcomed me – with its everlasting bloom & color. It was everywhere. The amazing bursts of color. My sewing abilities and a gift from my neighbor and dear friend: a roll of upholstery zippers initiated my ZIPS. I am happy that my ZIPS are in bloom again! Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Cyanotype and Watercolor on Paper Shower of Gold Two Size: 12 x 9 Framed Size: 16 x 12 My flower paintings embody the essence of the feminine spirit. They symbolize women's extraordinary resilience and adaptability in facing life's challenges. Each painting is a testament to their journeys of renewal, capacity to overcome adversity, and innate power to flourish. The golden accents highlight women's ability to shine brightly, even during dark times. Creating cyanotype paintings is part science and part intuition, and I'm never sure what I will get. I create cyanotypes using plants from my garden, light-sensitive chemicals, spices from my kitchen, and watercolor paints. I love the cyanotype process because the outcome is often a surprise due to the sun's variability, exposure length, chemical composition, and time of day. I finish each painting by using watercolors to modify and strengthen the composition to my liking. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Oil on Canvas The Muse Size: 12 x 9 Framed Size: 15 x 12 “The Muse” represents a very traditional feminine perspective, one that inspires men, in this case, a particular man, “The Artist”. While The Artist was demonstrating his technique to my class, I became intrigued by his muse. I could not take my eyes off her, wondering what it must be like to be the subject and object of art, passively providing the source of creation, over and over again. Of course, as much as she seemed like an anomaly to me, I too was drawn into her inspiring web. Most compelling of all, I wondered “what was she thinking?”. She must have learned so much about painting over the years, posing while The Artist worked. I’d love to paint the Muse again, this time with a paintbrush in her hand, herself, The Artist. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Printmaking Ocean Currents Size: 20 x 20 Framed Size: 24 x 24 Hearing about plastics impacting ocean life and also microplastics in our bodies caused me to see small shards everywhere. I started picking shards up and seeing them to artwork. The shards on this work were picked up by a school Where many plastic Easter eggs had been run over by cars & seemed to go very well with the colors in my print. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Photograph Mounted on Cradled Wood Board Artemis 26 x 16 Lush gardens, majestic landscapes, and serene seascapes have always been a source of inspiration in my image making. Combining traditional photography methods with contemporary techniques enables me to record and reinterpret the world around me. I work on an intuitive level without a predetermined image in mind, and consider an image successful when it is transformed beyond the reality of the camera into a personal connection with nature. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.
  • Acrylic Summer Creekside Size: 20 x 20 Frame Size: 21 x 21 After art school, I lived in Alaska for several years, an experience which profoundly impacted me and my art. After long winters, as the snow started to melt and the ice started to break, unique colors emerged throughout all of nature. In "Summer Creekside", I play with darks and lights to re-create the bright Alaska summer nights when the sun would set close to midnight. Additional shipping/delivery charges will be handled between the artist and buyer after the purchase.

  • Acrylic on Birch Peace Be Still Size: 19 x 15 x 0 "Peace Be Still" draws from Jesus's calming of the storm, visualizing inner serenity amidst life's turbulence. The piece features a Black woman in flowing garments, her free movement symbolizing spiritual liberation and surrender to divine grace. Through hues of pink—representing joy and promise—the artwork captures a moment of transcendent peace despite life's disappointments. The freshly picked flowers she holds symbolize faith's enduring beauty and God's faithfulness to His promises, while her dance-like pose embodies the scripture "You turned my mourning into dancing" (Psalm 30:11). The transparent handmade frame suggests the authentic vulnerability of spiritual journey and open acceptance of God's guidance. This work speaks to the feminine experience of finding divine peace through faith, illustrating how trusting God's promises transforms our walk through life's challenges.
