This abstract piece has many facets – the whiplash of the news cycle, the transient nature of life’s moments, the wake of powered vehicles, and the speed of light. It was created in oil on “claybord” – Ampersand’s substrate of clay that absorbs into the surface like a fresco. It carries multiple layers of paint that become richer with every application. It allows for marks and textures unique to the surface. The overall composition is both energetic and calming – as time passes it’s both fleeting and timeless.
