“Sarasota Circuit” explores structure as a responsive system shaped by environment. Rectilinear forms and linear pathways establish a controlled framework, while intersections and extensions suggest continuous movement rather than fixed endpoints. The composition reads as an open circuit—nodes connect, redirect, and adapt without full closure.

The work draws from the principles of the Sarasota School of Architecture, including the influence of Paul Rudolph, where modernist structures are defined by light, climate, and spatial flow. The yellow field functions as both ground and illumination, activating surrounding forms and reinforcing a sense of atmosphere rather than containment.

Surface weathering and overdrawn marks register time within the system—evidence of adjustment rather than erosion. Color operates as signal, guiding movement through areas of density and release. The result is a system that is ordered, adaptive, and continuously revised.
