Home Front
acrylic, ink, graphite, image transfer and thread on canvas
20 x 20

Home Front celebrates the resilience and leadership of women who have endured and sustained their communities through times of conflict and change. Inspired by the Log Cabin quilt pattern, traditionally symbolizing hearth, home, and safe shelter, the work also references the legend of Underground Railroad quilts as emblems of protection and guidance. Torn and reassembled canvas fragments are stitched into a quilt square, paying homage to solidarity, dignity, and strength passed from one generation to the next.
