Summer Leaves
printmaking: collagraph
18 x 12
This work explores the balance between control and letting go in the printmaking process. I began with simple gathered leaves, placing them onto the plate and running them through the press multiple times. Through that repetition and pressure, the forms started to shift—some areas held, while others dissolved.
I’m drawn to how the deep greens and teals create a sense of depth and quiet immersion. Rather than depicting nature directly, the piece becomes a record of its imprint—where natural forms are both preserved and transformed through time, pressure, and material.
It’s a beautiful rendition of nature’s best.
