With a background in the biological sciences and a lifelong love of nature, I seek natural forms and organic shapes in particular. Colour is a very important element of my pieces, and with strong brushstrokes, I aim to capture the energy of the wild places of the world, albeit in the Aruban desert or the tangled undergrowth of the city’s parks. My abstract pieces begin life as intuitive markmaking, and with layers of colour they assume a botanical quality as they progress.
