Whale Watching is an oil painting on canvas and was inspired by a trip across the Pacific in a small ship. For thirteen days there was nothing but blue! It was marvelous and inspired a series of all blue paintings. The somewhat monochromatic palette is bright and bold ultramarine blue in all shades, light to dark, with some turquoise and white as well. Lots of movement and depth have been created by layers of paint and bold brushwork. Packs a punch for its size.
