Women’s Rights issues have been top of mind for many of us. Along with an actual plague, the overturning of Roe V Wade and continuous misogyny has afflicted our nation and preoccupied my art practice. I decided to express my frustration and rage concerning our country’s division and lack of empathy through collage. Using vintage imagery with contemporary themes in red, white, blue and black, and hand coloring with ink, colored pencil and acrylic paint, a political collage series was born. I hope to draw attention to the unfortunate retrogression of female rights in America.
