My photo ‘Reminiscing’ is based on an encounter with a woman, dressed mostly in black, sitting in front of the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC.. She agreed to pose for me and I took a few photos. She said she had been a student there, many years ago and the school enabled her to become a successful graphic designer.
The other two photos were taken at a Long Island Peaceful Protest event in 2020, following the death of George Floyd.. ‘Speaking Out’ is a woman talking about justice and women’s rights.
‘Women’s Rights’ showed a woman with a baby on her back, speaking out about the need for equality in healthcare for women. She stated black women could not get the same quality care as whites, in pregnancy and childbirth.
