The thrill of speed, spray, and splash during a boating adventure are my favorite ways to spend a day. Equipped with my Nikon and a telephoto lens, I sat aft observing the ensigns’ flow and flutter. I favor a telephoto lens for its ability to draw viewers into the scene, eliciting a reflective response to the imagery. This vision was captured aboard “Irish” off Camden, Maine, in West Penobscot Bay. Being on a US-flagged vessel gives me a profound sense of security. I aim to search for images that convey significant symbols reflective of how and where I live. The clarity of bright days contributes to fulfilling my artistic pursuit of simplicity, symbolism, and the evocation of thought.
