Field Study – Blush & Earth is part of an ongoing exploration of color as emotion and presence. Working on raw canvas, I allow acrylic washes to move freely, absorbing into the surface rather than sitting on top of it. This process creates a sense of immediacy and surrender, where the material itself participates in the outcome.
The palette—soft blush against grounded earth—reflects a dialogue between vulnerability and stability. The forms emerge without predetermined structure, shaped by gravity, saturation, and time. Drips are not corrected but embraced as evidence of movement and release.
In this work, I am less concerned with composition as control and more interested in allowing the painting to reveal itself. The result is a quiet tension between softness and weight, intention and accident—an open field where feeling takes form without the need for narrative.
