Working intuitively, Blossom emerged during the creative process. While painting the cotton muslin, I focused on how the paint could create textures and mark making. After piecing my fabric to create the collage, I used hand stitching to continue my color harmonies and line work, and to give the artwork structure. As the piece developed, the botanical image became the focal point.
