I am currently working on a series of Strong Women, inspired by artists, writers, and other women of prominence in their fields who have demonstrated a passion for their work and a resilience to survive, sometimes against all odds. By delving into the past as well as the present, through paintings and photography, I have been inspired to recreate those images in my own expressionistic style. It is an ongoing challenge and hope that the finished portrait will give a sense of immediacy and permanence to the subject, that the strength and depth will shine through.
