This painting was prompted by my walks in southwest Florida this Spring, when the weather is perfect and color abounds. I enjoy getting lost in the tropical forests of Audubon’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and the Naples Botanical Gardens, often getting “caught in the nettles” and savoring the flora and wildlife of our region — bobcats, the endangered FL panther, alligators, and wonderful birds. I journal my experiences, writing a verse as I paint out my impressions and memories of these ventures.
