Drumming Hands
When taking this photo of a Gullah drummer, I purposely set a slow shutter speed to capture the blurred movement of the hands, while keeping everything else in the photo in focus. The hands display strength, endurance, and power, all attributes of the enslaved Gullah Geechee people. Originating from African traditions, music and drumming continue to be fundamental aspects of Gullah Geechee culture. Equipment and settings: Nikon D850, 300mm lens, f/11, 1/125
