I am attracted to working with found objects, and have eventually created quite a few found assemblages as a result. I believe they are sometimes called objet trouvé —and I agree with the consensus that what I like is the way I can take discarded objects and can transform and recontextualize and give new life and new aesthetic value. I especially like the way the “real” is transformed into the “surreal” through my creative process.
