These works were inspired by the objects I found. “Burnin’ Love )” was inspired by a found matchbox in the back of a drawer and I did a series of matchbox assemblages…this being one. My mom loved Elvis and took me to every movie he was in and I thought this would be a fun use of the piece. “The First Glow” was inspired by a pile of letters I found between a couple who wrote to each other and the letters revealed the development of the relationship and this piece is about how they both began to edge more towards love and “the first glow” or blossoming of new love…
