Inspired by the beautiful rolling foothills in Umbria, Italy, this piece captures the energy and heat of summer in this area. My work comes in bursts of spontaneity—bold, colorful, and full of energy—yet created in a state of complete calm. I’m delighted when the unexpected emerges. Those surprises excite me and guide the pieces to their final forms.
I’m inspired by both the wild freedom of the abstract expressionists and the sharp clarity of the precisionists, always searching for a balance between the two.
