I made this piece by standing in front of the canvas and tracing my body leaving out the head and limbs. This puts the focus on the torso and the reproductive organs making the identity the woman and her situation unknown. There is so much controversy about this part of a woman’s body without giving consideration to who this individual is and what are her circumstances. Her body is beautiful and powerful and ultimately her own.
