I sometimes consider human constructed space and the natural world in my art. In our daily routines we often peer out of one space to glimpse the other. Here, I investigate the “nature deficit” caused by our highly managed world and its cure. The natural world encourages us to explore and dream; to re-engage with the essence of life and beauty, bringing about peace. All materials in this artwork come from nature, but nothing is in its naturally found form. The prefabricated metal structure points to industrial constructs, protrudes into the viewer’s space, and surrounds the implied interior space of the paintings which asks the viewer to step inside.
